  1. anyone notice any changes with the functionality of the radio between 5.1 and 5.1.1?

I seem to have slightly less dB and see it bounce to 3G slightly more.  However, it has been one day of testing and most likely is just a placebo effect.

Updated to 5.1.1 and still missing calls when connected to WiFi with LTE, sadly this bug has not been fixed

This happens all the time?  I haven't heard of this issue.

  2. It's just general bug fixes, but it does add baked-in wifi calling for T-Mobile. I wonder if it does the same for sprint? Or, did sprint already have it.

We do not have wifi calling.  Doesn't sound like it will be added for Sprint either, :(.

  3. Like the S5, S6 can record 4k for 5 mins and the M9 for 6 mins. Does the Nexus 6 have a limit to how long it can record in 4K?

Oh, I'm sorry.  I had no idea.  I assumed it was just based on available memory. Haven't taken a video longer than 5 minutes.

EDIT: I just read a couple of forums on the S5 and S6 length requirements and it looks like they have a timer that shows how much time is left.  That is not the case with the N6, so I have to assume it does not have a max length.

  4. Anyone else no longer picking up band 26 with the new E update?

Edit: Nevermind, it seems band 26 just isn't working today on the tower I usually use. Sprint really needs to step up band 41 deployment in the SF Easy Bay. I average 0.2 mbit now on both band 25 and 26.

I don't have a good reference point as to exactly when this started happening (I was out of the country for 2 weeks when 5.1 was released, and updated while there), but my phone definitely doesn't seem to want to use band 26 anymore.

Previously it would usually keep me on band 26 while idle (ie wifi). Now I stick on band 25 in my apartment until my signal drops to -125 (averages -115 to -120 in some areas) and will eventually drop to 3G. The end result is I always show 0 bars.

My band 26 signal is -95 in the same location (1x is about the same, 1x800 is around -75). So either the update made my phone really not want to use band 26, or some Sprint network optimization is at fault. Both bands in the area are incredibly overloaded on downstream for what it's worth (downstream is 0.2 mbit, upstream is around 7 mbit). I'm a bit concerned about missing calls because of it hanging on to such a weak signal.

No issues with connecting to Band 26 here.  Samsung market if that helps.

  5.

odd they kept it at 5.1.0

Sounds like it is the N6 Verizon variant.  Some slight changes, but nothing that non Verizon users should use.

Also, how has noone not stated how awesome this update was in reference to sms / mms.  I know people said it was fixed, but boy that is an understatement.  I was waiting to update due to xposed, but I couldn't stand it.  I cannot believe how quickly this phone sends messages now.  I know this is standard now w/ LTE, but it is fantastic!

  6. Do you have the problem only when using or near to Clear sites? (Does it work at home, but not at work?)

I don't sit on a clear site at work or home. It is affected in both locations. 3g works perfectly with no issue, however, that is not a fix. Glad to hear that they at least are acknowledging the issue now. I'll call tomorrow.

  7. I have MMS issues often

I'm experiencing the MMS problem very often. Hopefully there's a fix soon.

I am experiencing that issue as well.  I have to admit, the text issue bothers me more, simply because I never know if I should trust that it sent or not.  Oh well, just wish there was more information from Sprint about it.  I spoke to tech support last week and that acted like it wasn't an issue...  Otherwise, the N6 is a monster.  Switched to the Franco Kernel last week and just logged 6hours 18 minute of voice time with almost 2 hours of SOT and still had 20% left!

  8. Anyone here jump from the nexus 5? If so how is data performance compared to the nexus 5? I'm constantly on 3g with my nexus 5 in a city where Sprint is really focused on and would switch in a heartbeat if the new nexus held onto a lte signal better.  Thanks.

I made the switch about two weeks ago. The radio performance is much better. It hangs on to b41 and b26 much better than the nexus 5. With the Nexus 6 I'm on 3g a lot less than with the nexus 5. The LTE scan time is faster than on the Nexus 5 scanning more frequently which means your on 3g less. The battery lasts double if not triple the amount of time as the Nexus 5. If you make the jump to the Nexus 6 you will not regret it.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I also upgraded from the N5.  Keep in mind I loved the N5, coming from a long run of HTC devices, EVO, EVO 3D, EVO LTE, the stock experience and how quick everything was.  That said, the N6 runs circles around the N5 in every department. Better radio, hover around 4-5 dB better on all bands that I've noticed compared to N5.  Battery life as mentioned is at LEAST double if not triple as good as.  I use my phone a ton for an actual phone (~3-4 hours per day) and the N6 could care less.  I used to charge the N5 at least every time I was in the car and still charged when I got home at the end of the day.  Now, I simply don't charge my phone during the day ever.  Since December, I have yet to charge it during the day. I cannot say enough about how great this phone is.  I forgot to mention the camera is light years ahead of the N5 also.

    Just buy this phone already!

    LG G3

    So a question....

I screwed up and took the update (i am rooted) and so i lost root.....

went back and down graded...lost everything...due to a complete reset.....also had wifi calling issue, which i went back and did a ##rtn# on it...  pretty much resetting it again....

SO now when my phones screen goes off, after about 30 secs, it drops wifi and reverts back to network...when i wake my phone it kicks back to wifi.....but in stand by i now lose connectivity to streaming music etc...

anyone know why, and where i might go to fix it????

I'm on a Nexus 6, but I'm assuming you just have the setting for turn off Wi-Fi during sleep enabled.  It is under Wi-Fi, then settings advanced Wi-Fi, Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep (should be set to always).

    Hope that helps.

  9. The only difference I can think of is that it uses a CSIM. But doesn't the newest HTC phone and iPhone 6 use this as well? I'm not aware of them having the same issue.

I know Verizon also uses CSIM (and I think they have since they launched LTE?), and they would also need to use eCSFB with the Nexus 6. So I'm curious if anyone using it on Verizon is experiencing the same issue. If so, then it's likely a Nexus 6 problem. If not, then it's probably Sprint.

Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Google'ing it I only found Sprint users complain about it, doesn't mean it is only them.  With it not being offered from Verizon yet, I'll bet that is why we haven't seen them complain as much if it is an issue.

  10. I don't have Google Voice integration but still have the issue. When it works the text will send immediately, otherwise it gets stuck on sending and apparently sends it multiple times.

It seems to me like it's an eCSFB problem, since others have reported missing calls as well. It's as though the phone isn't properly switching over to CDMA reliably.

Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I was wondering if it had something to due w/ eCSFB as well.  I agree with the fact that if it goes, it goes immediately just like my N5.  If it doesn't, it gets stuck and appears to be 'sending' forever.  I've had it come back as failed only to find out that it has been sent multiple times.  This would also make sense as to why the problem is 'fixed' by moving to 3G or CMDA instead of LTE.  I just wonder how the N6 is any different than any other Tri-Band phone...

EDIT: To note, all towers around me are fully upgraded Sprint B25/26/41 and have been for months.  So, I do not believe it is the towers causing eCSFB, it is the radio on the phone or some weird network issue with this phone specifically.

  11. I'm one of the people experiencing the text messaging issue, can you all confirm that you are integrated with Google Voice or not?  A Sprint thread has recently noted that this may be the problem.  I'm going to disconnect mine and let you know if it is any different.

    Thanks.

  12. I have no luck with dash mount . I use CD slot mount (I didn't use the CD player in years )

I'd love to, but I have an old Altima ('09) w/ a 5 disc changer that is located BELOW the radio and a real awkward spot / no room for the disc mount ones :(.  Thanks for the suggestion though, I hear those work great.

  13. I just recently took the plunge and purchased an N6 as well.  Received it yesterday and can confirm I'm having the same issues w/ LTE.  Moving from an N5 w/ lollipop, messenger sent text messages over LTE almost instantaneously.  Now, I'm lucky if the text goes thru in 30 seconds and I had two text messages fail yesterday.  Keep in mind, I'm lucky enough to have my towers broadcasting Sprint B25,41,26 and have been for several months.  Definitely not a tower issue.  I tried a PRL / profile update as well to no avail.

As an aside, this phone is huge.  I'm really starting to enjoy it though the more I use it.  The screen is beautiful.

    Maybe 5.0.1 will fix it?

EDIT: Also, what the heck are you guys using for car mounts now?  I used to use this mount for the N5 and loved it.  I'm having a hard time even fitting it in my cup holders...
