4g sighted again near aurbundale lirr station near flushing. Was moving inside the train so couldnt map it on sensorly. But it was there and I took some snap shots.

According to the National Broadband Plan, there is 547 MHz of spectrum useable for wireless broadband. Sprint, if the transaction is approved will possess more than a third of the available spectrum allocated by the U.S. government, but with less than one sixth of U.S. customers. That gives Sprint (on average 200 MHz and 56 million subscribers) the chance to use roughly 3.57 MHz of spectrum to support each of their subs. I am sure sprint will catch up. 2013 is their year to turn it over and if not, it will be a big disappointment. If it wasnt for this site, I would've dropped sprint and went to tmobile. I hope I made the right decision.

I am waiting for lte signal in queens but no luck yet. Places I been to last week are flushing, littleneck, bayside, long island city, astoria and also many places on the way but no lte anywhere.

yep. i live around a mile away from the DMV and no sign of LTE.

How long does it take for them to get the lte up for the towers that already has nv done?

you were right. from Monday to thursday, i was getting really bad reception at work but today, i get awesome 3G speeds near 2mbps down and 1mbps up. they work pretty fast. NV can be up less than a week?

I think few of those are definitely sprint towers since signals are very strong near those towers. And since I see clearwire panels, I just guessed they are sprint towers. I also see that that site on the network enhancement map for speed and capacity. Maybe its combination of both sprint and other carrier?

if i am not mistaken, i heard people saying 1900mhz LTE has worse penetration than 1900mhz 3g signals? but when 800mhz LTE rolls around, things will be different.

do you happen to know if they are replacing the darker panels into the newer white ones or just adding more of those white ones?

yes. where i work used to have good speed in terms of 3g and 1X reception, but for the last week, i get one or two bars and the phone keeps on toggling back and forth to different towers and dropping 3g signals.

i find these towers near by my apartment. its on Roosevelt Ave and Parsons blvd in flushing. i get great speeds around 1.8mbps. i noticed there are different colored panels, some of them looking a little grey and some of them are white. of course the small round ones are clear wimax? what are the differences between each different panels?

I am still very surprised that manhattan isnt the first place the lte signals are set up. Who wouldve thought bronx is the first place with lte.

yea that is exactly what i thought. but the thing is if i ran three tests consecutively, first one is good speed, second one slow with very bad ping and third exam comes same as the first one. not sure what is going on. also when i am at home, the signal fluctuates so much. i get 4-5 bars -80dbm 8asu and seconds later i have 0-1 bar -88dbm 4asu or 2asu. the bars go up and down very often and i get very annoyed.

funny thing is, when i run speedtests in littleneck queens, i get these speed consecutively. i get great ping and speed for one test, and on the next test like 10 seconds later, i get 500+ping with slow speeds. very odd and i do not know why.
