  1. wait out this summer. i think we all will have good idea how LTE would be like by the end of the summer. until then, we patiently wait.
  2. do you guys think that since there are not that many towers has LTE currently, each tower is being overburdened? I see my phone try to be on the 4g network even though the signal is very weak and from far away. Since all the phones are searching for LTE, does that crowd the current LTE tower that is up and live? well, there are many has to be factored in like how many sprint users switched to LTE phones and other stuff.....
  3. 5 towers are up in flushing. i think they turned off one of them two weeks ago and it has not been turned on yet.
  4. is that the whole thing with different frequency thing? 800mhz/1900mhz and 2500mhz will be used so that it will prevent putting too much overloading on one frequency? I am not sure but someone explained me as such.
  5. patients is a virtue but in terms of business aspect, there is no such thing as patient. if they think there is something better out there, they will move to a different company. there is no need for loyalty in terms of business. profit and good service is all that matters and that is what sprint is lacking now. we all know that it is going to get better, but that is long term dividends for us. all depends on how much people weigh short term vs long term dividends.
  6. question, on the deployment running list, NYC is 48% complete, but I honestly do not think 48% of the towers went live with LTE just yet. does it mean their panels and backhaul has been upgraded? http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/212-network-visionlte-deployment-running-list/
  7. using sprint for 7 train ride from queensboro plaza to Flushing is a joke now. half of the time the phone has 4g signal but the signal is coming from very far away with worse than -120dbm. turning off the 4g doesn't really help because 3g signal is very poor due to tower being down because of NV. at least in Flushing, the 4g is very good since there are five towers live with 4g and I have pretty good speed at home. the quarterly report from sprint showed 643 million dollar loss with loss of 560,000 contracts, but with significant improvements on net loss from previously quarterly report. the loss of contracts are due to Nextel sites going down. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323789704578442454292712928.html
  8. do you go to stuyvesant? I myself is an alumnus of class 2003. sorry unrelated to network deployment. will use PM next time.
  9. feels like my 4 month old note 2 is outdated. smartphones developments is outrageous. the market for smartphone is getting very large and it seems to be very lucrative market. Iphone is being produced at a cost of $150 for apple and they sell it for $600 from one of the article that I read after iphone 5 release. that is crazy profit.
  10. I had exact same issue but after nv upgrades near by, I have stable 75-80
  11. Hopefully thats true. What is the reason for warm weather being a big factor in deployment speed?
  12. Finally Friday people. Lets not fight. Haven't sighted any new lte this week. Hope we see more action next week.
  13. Dial *99 if you are connected through airave, you will hear computer telling you that you are connected to an airave. Other easy way of telling is also by three beeps when you dial out or accepting calls.
  14. Now I am unsure of what to do with the airave. Should I just use the device to get 55dbm 1x service compared to 70dbm to 80dbm without airave? I actually did get the device for free without any charge monthly.
  15. Wow I am shocked. At my apartment we were always getting horrible 1x and 3g signal and we have a airave. Today I was working on on wires and had to take the airave off. I was surprised to find out I have 4-6 bars and awesome 1.5mbps 3g speed with 70ms ping without airave. NV will make sprint very competitive. Awesome job sprint.
  16. I get best 4g with cell#415 with around 103dbm but I do not know why the phone kept on changing the cell to 466 and 291, which has considerably weaker signal. I know that I am closest to cell 466 but thats not where I get the best reception from.
  17. At home, the lte cell site constantly changes between 466, 297, 291 and 415. It constantly changes with dbm ranges from 103 to 110. Maybe this explains my 1x signal fluctuation for the past twp years before airave?
  18. Wow. I really should donate to this website but not sure of the appropriate amount. Advice?
  19. If you were getting -100dbm indoor with 1900 mhz lte, how much the penetration it will improve with 800mhz lte?
  20. I always wanted to ask this question. How do you guys know these information? Unless you work from the inside, you cannot get these information. Any sprint employees here?
  21. Not bashing sprint. Just giving big credit to tmobile with their data coverage and deployment. I love sprint and thats why my family has been with sprint and I have good faith that Sprint will get competitive again with 800/1900/2500 lte.
  22. too late. already upgraded. thanks for your recommendation.
