  1. One thing I feel few people realize is T-Mobile didn't start deploying LTE recently but has been working on it almost as long as NV.

Consider this, most T-Mobile PCS HSPA sites are broadcasting blocked LTE. PCS HSPA started showing up early last year in small pockets.

So, T-Mobile's LTE deployment actually started early last year like NV. T-Mobile has sent crews almost entirely to big cities, so to me its obvious why T-Mobile is getting ahead in big cities, its because they have been working almost as long as Sprint has and they've been focusing almost exclusively on these areas.

if tmobile deploys LTE fast enough with good coverage, they will be the best carrier here in NYC. they have good alternative with HSPA+ with easily topping 10mbps and their LTE seems to be 10 X 10 in NYC when time comes. Sprint will be more favorable when 800mhz and 2500mhz actually hits the market with good coverage, but until then, t mobile sounds like a really good deal.

  2. Seems they turned off the LTE signal, it was on this morning and then it cut right off and doesnt seem to be anywhere else

i got -98dbm to -99 dbm indoor in my condo in LIC. but the signal was going from 4g to 3g constantly. i thought they were working on something there. The signal was not weak enough to drop.

t-mobile launching LTE. they have seen about 60mbps download max and 30mbps upload. they said 100 million people are able to use LTE by mid 2013....

are they deploying 10x10? sprint LTE seems to be on the lower hand. Sprint really has to step it up. the deployment seems to be very very slow.

  4. Speaking of horrible, I am having major issues trying to stay connected with either my Note 2 or my Tri-Fi Hotspot here in Hillcrest Queens. Specifically Parsons and 82nd drive. I've never seen it this bad. Its taking me forever to read and reply to posts or just surfing the net. wow. Guess they are working on that tower down the street.

little neck has pretty good reception at where i work but last week was atrocious. no reception at all indoor and 3g was non-existing. it got better yesterday with very solid 3g speed, but no 4g yet.

  5. saw someone working on cell tower in flushing and i found this truck.

hard to see RRUs but the site is definitely sprint site. I noticed one site is shared by many carriers in flushing Queens.

BTW, this site is located 156th street and Sanford Ave in Flushing.

saw this truck at the same building this morning going to work. has anyone heard of cobra communication??

  6. I'm looking at the Sensorly map (online) and there is alot more purple in that area compared to last month.

Its so weird looking at that Sensorly map of the city. major areas untouched are

    Manhattan:

Midtown West, Lower East Side, The Village and Lower Manhattan.

    Brooklyn:

    Greenpoint, Carnarsie, Bergen Beach

    Queens:

parts of Astoria, Sunnyside, Jackson heights Middle Village. College Point, Whitestone, Southeast Queens (St. Albans, Laurelton) and the Rockaways

    Staten island:

    Basically all of the borough.

What I find funny is that you see spots of purple in the middle of the bay (probably picking up a signal while riding the Staten Island Ferry) lol

In flushing, the lte towers are on and off. They are testing. I am still very surprised that queens and manhattan has so little action compared to brooklyn and bronx. Hope it picks up.

  7. They need to move into bayside and elmhurst area. Large white area on sensorly.

Definitely. Astoria and Elmhurst is a very populated area and they must work faster there. I know that people live in queens generally favor verizon due to better coverage and I completely agree with them. Sprint/at&t/tmobile have work cut out for them in queens.
