Sprint coverage map on their website will bring so much controversy. I think they are pushing a little with lte coverage map there.

Can this be tge first sprint triband phone? Lg g2.

i think it might be a good idea if I try to use my galaxy s1 instead of note 2 for couple of month in NYC and enjoy some of wimax until LTE fully kicks in NYC.

My understanding is (and I may be way off), your phone is converging battery power by not scanning for LTE all the time. However if it finds LTE, it stores data about the connection for future and faster connects.
For example, and again this is just a guess, it scans every 15 minutes. This time, it gets lucky and finds a LTE signal and connects. Once it connects, it takes information from the tower (site I'D or something) and stores it in a table along with the 1x information about that tower. Then, in the future, if your phone connects to that tower's 1x, it knows that in the past there was LTE at that location, and scans quicker to see if it can get LTE.
Maybe this is why when you go to a new area, it takes forever to get LTE (without toggling anything), but once you find LTE, it's much quicker on future connects.

i kind of agree with this because same place where you set the TIMER MENU to scan LTE signals, there is LTE data history log and it seems to save all the LTE towers that you have connected to. I have not felt it was taking longer or shorter but the device is definitely keeping a log of which LTE site you have connected to.

i know that once you know your MSL number and press ##DATA# on the number pad, it directs you to data programming. if you want to edit, you need your MSL number and there are some apps that will get you the number. if you have the access to it then you go to BSR, then TIMER MENU. and choose NEXT LTE SCAN TIMER and i think lowest is now 1 minute. i set mine to 1.

sprint might announce new plan. they are keeping unlimited but giving more options to LIMIT the data with cheaper price. I actually really like this. My parents literally use less than 500mb per month if they push it but I honestly dont see why we have to have UNLIMITED for everyone.

i am just wondering when 800/1900/2500mhz LTE capable phones will release this year. I guess Q4 this year? I really might trade in my note 2 to note 3 if that happens.

i took a walk from 82nd st and northern blvd to 25th ave an steinway and i had 4g signal all the time, is nice to be able to stream my play music, before was like 30 minutes to play a song
slowly slowly getting better. hope they speed up the process though.

Great lte speed in steinway and broadway area in queens. Loving the new app: signalcheck pro. It costs like two dollars but great app to keep track of the signal location for 1x and signal strength.

Do you guys know that softbank was the only provider for the iPhone in Japan just like the at&t? I think their marketing will also bring success to sprint
-
these articles step all over sprint. Pretty inaccurate since sprint didn't fully deploy LTE but Sprint cannot avoid the fact that they are WAY behind deploying 4G compared to other carriers. I kind of want to see how the articles will be when sprint completes the LTE roll out.

I went to pocono Pennsylvania last weekend for a little getaway from NYC and i was very thankful that I have sprint. in a very rural area where the vacation house was in, I was able to fully stream netflix with very good quality. 3g speed was descent 0.3-0.4 mbps and around 100 ping. tmobile and at&t was not even getting edge there.

SignalCheck. It is by a developer here at S4GRU. I like the numbers better as it offers more info. Very cool app, you can pick whether you want the bars or the numbers.
i guess its signal check pro?

NICE speed in front of Lincoln Center. Now that's what I'm talking about!

which apps gives 1x and 4g signal that I see on the left top corner of your screen?
-
Yep, I was there yesterday connected while waiting for the 7.
on the 7 train, there is usable LTE from queensboro to around 103rd street.

Strong signal near 40th street queens blvd.
-
Dont get me wrong. Its getting better. However, northeast part of queens has absolutely no signs of lte yet. Flushing has good lte saturation.
-
Have you toggled the radio to see if you pick up any LTE? cause at this point, there is LTE available in most parts of NYC (at least weak signal)
definitely not true in queens. they are lagging well behind Bronx and Brooklyn
-
got some LTE near steinway and broadway in Astoria Queens. around -100 to-110 rsrp but still very glad to see LTE there.
-
Change if you want. But you need tremendous patience to stick with sprint now. If I have the option, I wont be with sprint as of now

I appreciate your help, I was gonna come over to simply get the sero plan $50 a month. But when is it predicted to be 50% done cuz this Verizon bill is killing me good service but pricey ?
if I were you, I will try tmobile for sometime since you dont have to be tied to a 2 year contract and they have good hspa+/started to roll out LTE at a much fast pace than sprint. when the sprint LTE is at 100 percent and triband phones are rolling out, that will be the best time to move to sprint. you are making mistake jumping into sprint right now especially coming from verizon.
-
The nexus sucks on Verizon too I dumped at after a week bad battery and bad signal
I think I will be making my way over to sprint in 2 to 3 weeks lets go!!!
not a good idea i think. i will wait until at least 50 percent of the towers has LTE and also when triband phones come out.

do you guys think this is sprint tower? this panel was ridiculously larger than other panels next to them.
