  1. I got a little treat this morning. My phone picked up LTE, albeit a weak signal, beginning at Eshelman and PCH. I tracked it to Vermont and PCH where the phone finally lost the signal. My assumption is the LTE signal was coming from the tower at Lomita Blvd and Western which sits at the lowest elevated point in that neighborhood. (NOTE: Who was the genius that either decided to place the tower there and have the tower height 25ft, maybe 30 feet, high.) Residents to the West, North, and about an 1/8 mile to the East and South are not obstructed. But any further East and South the land inclines, then plateaus which I figure would obstruct the tower signal's direct line of sight....if that makes sense at all. If these signals can bend when traveling, then disregard this. The topography in the South Bay has to be a pain for wireless services. My home sits in a ravine where coverage is awful for all four big networks. Thankfully, an Airave gives an extra boost to get phone coverage in and around my home.
  2. LTE speeds this week have been mostly on par with 3g speeds in Downtown LA. And we Southern Californians are spoiled. Our perception of bad weather is what most other parts of the country consider great weather. I would be disappointed if the towers built here are as fickle as the citizens.. 3. RT +1 @qbking77: Who is getting Halo 4 tomorrow???I know my brother in law and I are and will be playing all the time!Gamertag: qbking77

  4. I have not been back to Staples since Game 6 of the Stanley Cup. GO KINGS GO. But that last time, I recall pulling 10 megs down on an Epic 4G Touch both inside Staples and the surrounding LA Live area. I've had the Sensorly app running on my commute whether I'm taking Flower or Figueroa through Downtown.
  5. if you're willing to spend about $100, there are plenty of Galaxy S IIIs supposedly in excellent/mint condition on craigslist selling around $300. Then, turn around and sell the Epic 4G Touch for about $200. Now, you have an LTE phone AND still have your upgrade in 2013.
  6. Downtown LA speeds have slowed this week. Even to the point of being on par with sprint 3g speeds. Looks like Sprint has taken a step back, albeit a snail one in the City of Angels. Just my $.02 with a few Gentlemen Jacks under my belt. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Drove through parts of Long Beach last weekend, and to further support Robert's weekly updates (not that I question them) I have yet to ping an LTE signal. My treks took me on the 405, 91, and 710 freeways, over the Gerald Desmond and Vincent Thomas bridges, and parts of PCH, Willow Street, and Bellflower Blvd.
  8. There has yet to be any LTE signal mapping on Sensorly in Wilmington. So I decided to drive on PCH on my commute home. And sure enough there was no LTE signal at LA73XC702 in Wilmington. I did a few speed tests across the street from the faux palm tree signal tower located in the middle of storage center. The 3g up and down speeds averaged an unimpressive .5 mbps. Also, ran tests at a couple new NV towers in San Pedro. Similar results as the on in Wilmington. I hope the slow speed is the precursor to Sprint lighting up LTE on more towers in the harbor cities.
  9. RT Triple Crown watches called 3rd strike to end the Series. Give Trout the MVP on that alone. @JonHeymanCBS: #SFGiants, world champions!

  10. RT When the Bruins in the house... @coach_meat: Yee Yee! ItsoundslikeBOOM! 24hr rule in effect!

  11. I mapped parts of Dodger Stadium, even the parking lot area where I needed to produce an ID to enter the property. Now that's dedication to track the lte signal. Also, mapped Broadway and Main Streets in Alhambra. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III running Phantom Hacker JellyBlazed ROM using Tapatalk 2
  12. Where were these tests taken? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III running Phantom Hacker JellyBlazed ROM using Tapatalk 2
  13. Ha. Take a look at the Sensorly website. Theres a purple blip on the tarmac at LAX. Someone must have not paid attention to the flight attendants and not turned off their cell phone. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III running Phantom Hacker JellyBlazed ROM using Tapatalk 2
  14. RT Take Sosh & Butcher #Angelsfans @JeffFletcherOCR: RT @nickmaronde: Someone just paid Ozzie Guillen $7 million to go drink beer and fish.

  16. What you described is what I, and some other posters, experienced when doing speed tests on our LTE phones in various areas in the LA market over the past several weeks prior to the LTE signal being released to consumers. ehrpd was captured by my phone when I was at Disneyland over a month ago. So LTE may be available soon at the Mouse's House? Or it may be a year from now? I certainly do not know. But it's a positive sign for Santa Ana that ehrpd is there. Robert, aka Lord of S4GRU, has posted his thoughts about ehrpd many times on this form. Run a search and you'll have plenty of information to draw your own conclusion.
  17. My phone is currently using the LIF modem which seems to take between 1-2 minutes to acquire the 4g signal on its own on its initial search. I'd be curious to know if there is a method to changing the LTE settings so that the phone could acquire the signal faster. I recall there was a way to do such a thing for the Wimax settings on the EVO OG. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III running Phantom Hacker JellyBlazed ROM using Tapatalk 2
  18. This was a speed test by the San Gabriel Country Club. These are very good 3g speeds. No ehrpd signal though. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III running Phantom Hacker JellyBlazed ROM using Tapatalk 2
  19. RT So true. Amateur hour. @kjjfish @octonion: No one really reads Bleacher Report, one clicks on a link that deceitfully sends you there.

  20. I have arbitrarily checked this website over the past 24 hours and it is not loading. Sensorly is a free, non registration site, correct?
  21. +1 This pairing has worked well for me.
  22. Do you notice the phone has to toggle in and out of Airplane Mode on the LIH radio? I was so frustrated with this radio I flashed the earlier Jellybean radio version, LIG.
