  1. I have had a few AMOLED screens now and have never had an issue. However, my screens are never left on, and I run pretty varied activities. Some people though will force their screens to stay on while playing music, so they can glance over and see the music info without waking the screen...that would not be good with an AMOLED screen.

so i like to watch a lot of videos on my phone and browse the web and from what im reading online is it true that this wouldnt affect it much? I hear its mostly when the phone is on and left at the same spot for awhile but im never on my phone and just let it sit there for awhile with out anything happening on the screen. So with that being said do you think id have any issues with it?
  2. got it, thanks

youwelcome im also currently trying to decide which one to get but am afraid of the screen burn in issues im hearing about online that I just found out about, since I've never used a amoled screen before and then i did a little research and scared now. But then theres the evo where you have multitasking issues and what not? Decisions decisions decisions...
  3. in your opinions, which would have better radio for calls and lte, gs3 or the optimus g? also, will the optimus g support simulatous voice/data on lte and 3g?

i dont know but right now the GS3 at best buy comes with $100 gift card.
  4. What I dint understand is if why u don't like reading about the Evo Ltes issues then why in the world do you decide to read the evo lte connection issues forum? Or Hey, here's your chance to bitch about the evo lte forum if u the it so much!!! I thought this was supposed to be a friendly forum and appropriate but appearently no so. On top of all that how does a mature market even matter he was just saying that the s3 was better at connectivity it wouldn't matter if it was mature or not considering they both phones were on the same tower most likely.

People, I sound like a broken record, but I am going to keep hammering away at this. Many of you worry way too much about LTE coverage at home when ~95 percent of you should already have the equivalent of 4G at home -- broadband Internet access and Wi-Fi.

yeah but not everyone has wifi like when i go to FL for example I stay with my family who are old fashion and only thing they have is some basic metro pcs phones and no way of getting online but as far as lte at home I don't really care cause I'm not going to be using it, just for bragging rights. Seriously though being over their is bad though cause i get bad speeds and have to stand outside to get WiMAX and inside only get 1 bar with 3G speeds like 100kbps or less. And it's the only way to stay connected. And I wouldn't mind going outside but it's not the best place to be alone outside.
  6. The maximum threshold for usable LTE is -95dBm RSSI (-120dBm RSRP). So you may be right at the threshold. It's just that the EVO has a hard time keeping a signal worse than -110dBm. However, if you go into 1x/LTE mode, you will be able to keep the weak signal.

Oh ok thanks for the info oh and i just got back from the sprint store like a few minutes ago and played with the evo lte and i toggled airplane mode and found out that Little Rock also has eHRPD live. But the weird thing was after that i turned on the other evo lte they had and it was the one that was recently updated and found out that it wasnt on eHRPD even though i b it was a cold start boot up.

You add 25. So it would be -85dBm RSSI.

dang so that mean I won't be able to get 4g in my apartments if I got that phone cause I'm at -95dbm for 1x and like -80 through -88dbm inside.
  8. When the EVO LTE could keep a signal, its signal strength was roughly the same as the other LTE devices in our testing. We just had a hard time keeping a signal on the EVO when it got worse than -110dBm.

what is -110dbm converted to rssi
  9. Maybe Jellybean comes with LTE. Lol I saw this video on YouTube where this guy try's to say that his GS2 has an LTE radio in it. Type in sprint LTE on YouTube and then click on this week under filters or whatever and then click on the video that shows a phone by the window and he said that lte didn't penetrate well. Smh

I'm no LG cheerleader, but my LG Viper has been pretty solid. Except for some strange reason the 1x signal is usually 10dBm weaker than EVDO. Even in a remote location, with only one site for miles and I am standing next to it. Wait...maybe my Viper hasn't been so solid? :P

same with my iPhone 4S there's always been like a 10dbm difference which I thought was weird.
  11. Isnt that sorta gonna be what DO- Advanced gonna do but not throttle users just switch people to other less congested towers around you to also get some fast speed

Tiered data plans are such a joke, if it were really about managing the network and not increasing profits they would just use QoS. During times of peak load, slow the heaviest users down. During off-peak hours, let the data fly.

The technology doesn't require any new hardware or changes to data plans. If I used 15GB this month and I'm trying to download at 4PM on a Monday, then throttle me down to let the light users through. At midnight when no one is using it, let me go full speed.

Given Sprint's 3G situation I don't think they'll get many takers on a tiered data plan at the same price as AT&T/VZW. Now if I can add an iPad to my monthly plan for 10 bux that's another story.

  12. My iPhone sometimes and more recently have been getting 1x with the o at the top. But when I get 3G which I have to toggle airplane mode with to get back is fast. So I guess I'm not the only one since I see people with iPhones and androids having same issue. Think I might get the GS3 though with all the issues with the evo lte I hear about

  13. I heard that even though phones are turned off they can still use battery cause they can hear everything you do or use your camera if the gov thinks ur suspicious or whatever not sure if true bit wouldn't doubt the government trying to listen to or snap a pic fast while phones off and without u knowing.

  14. There are other devices I believe that don't require broadband you just got to do a little bit of searching on google. I know that they have Wilson signal boosters for while in a car. Not sure about a house one but then I don't see why they wouldn't have one.
