  1. I guess I am missing something here and alot jealous but why would Sprint light up that area first and not anther area where people have more newer phones with LTE? I know that area and it is populated with less than the average income. It just makes no marketing sense to me.

Most likely to test it first because not that many people will complain if for whatever reason the tower went down as if a site that has a more populated sprint area. Thats just what i think
  2. As far as I know sprint isn't really focused on adding more towers, mainly focusing on network vision. Which is good and bad. Network vision will be awesome once its completed but it won't fix all of their coverage issues. Sprint has quite a few dead zones around here and since Verizon bought altell, their rural coverage is unparalleled. I seemed to have good coverage back when I had att but I didn't pay much attention because I didn't have a smartphone back then

it will get better though once they have 800mhz coverage for lte and 1x

  3. I was looking at Galaxy S3s at a lot of places even Costco and Sam's Club. Best I saw was $99 for new customers and $149 for contract extension. Best Buy also has them today only for $99 for "new customers".

yeah but that's if u wanna buy it elsewhere technically sprint only has it for $199 for 16 GB. but other places have it cheaper I guess it really just depends on the store
  4. There are 2 prices as I understand it. It used to be that new customers got the best prices, but on many (if not all) phones, extending your contract for a 2 year commitment will give you prices as low as new customers. This does seem to vary a little, but the renewal prices are very good. Also look at other sources than sprint. Sometimes retailers like Radio Shack or best Buy will have promotions that will make them a better deal. Also buying by mail will help lower price also.

Your paying the same price per month regardless if you brought a phone with you to sprint, or not. So its a shame the prices stay the same.

The price of the Galaxy Note II will be the same price for new customers, as it is for people upgrading to a 2-Year Contrat

alright so as far as I know if u walk up into a sprint store if ur a new customer say the phone for new customer is $199 well then it's also $199 for the phone if you upgrade also same applies for sprint site. Or there are places on the Internet like Amazon Wireless who has the phone I personally want $99 for an contract extension while for brand new customers its $29 so it just all depends but that same phone if I upgrade at sprint store/website is $199 and $199 for new customers. Hope that makes sense
  5. I change devices all the time. It's a pain to change from WiMax to LTE devices. It usually involves a phone call or a chat session with a Sprint CSR. Some people don't have an issue with it, but i do.

However, a WiMax to WiMax change or LTE to LTE change you can do online easily. Just sign into your account, and then on your page where it displays your account devices, select the drop down button and hit the activate new device. Easy to do. I do it several times per week.

Do you mean CDMA/LTE versus LTE only? What you've said doesn't make sense.

uh I guess. I thought someone said they can put it in lte/CDMA mode to make it search for lte first or something i don't know. I haven't been able to keep up as much since I've been on my iPhone ever since my laptop broke.
  7. Really hope this issue gets fixed I still want an EVO LTE! Didn't someone on this thread say that when they put it on LTE/CDMA it worked better than when on CDMA/LTE it was worse? If so couldn't HTC make a software update or radio update for the phone or something.

  8. I hated the youtube app on the iPhone ever since I got it. And personally don't think it will get better. I do like the android one better cause it doesn't freeze up on me as much when I'm on wifi and I like how that on android u can do HQ over the mobile network. While on the iPhone u have to be on wifi to get videos looking good, unless ur just listening to music or something. So what do u think I should get an iPhone 5 or evo lte or gs3. I'm still deciding I like the evo lte design but I'm not sure if I should get it cause when I go back to FL over the summer I'd like to use it as a LTE hotspot and its not gonna do me any good if I can't get it. Now where I live in Little Rock that's a different story cause its probably not going to get LTE until like spring of 2013 if lucky.

Yep.. I saw exactly why this weekend.

Everything else is awesome on the phone except the radio on the pcs band.

I was able to try out the cellular roaming in an area that was so so as well. Compared to my Epic it worked much better. In another area I had forgotten I could get coverage there since the Epic wouldn't do PCS roaming. Roamed just fine.

But I don't go to those areas that often so I would prefer the better S3. Oh well I have another line I might upgrade and swap with next year when the next line of phones come out. Or maybe just try to swing a swap out by the sprint store.

Is possible to change #s from an iPhone to an Evo LTE and get the # off the evo LTE with the iPhone cause I know both use SIM cards one for LTE and the iPhone I'm not sure because while its is CDMA but still need to be activated for international roaming? Not sure how that works?

There are not big connectivity issues don't be worried by that as over 3G and regular stuff it is rock solid....

Mine is like a rock and had zero connectivity issues or dropped calls....I don't count the lte stuff bc right now that stuff is up in air anyway and not the main reason someone should be buying a device right now anyway...

Screen and everything else about the device I give heads up over the sgs3 imho....

Tbh, you can't go wrong with either....I am glad to see Sammy get radios right for once though....

I know right my dad has the GS2 and in places where the iPhone and og evo get full bars he's lucky to get 2-3
  11. The buffed up 3G performance should be well enough for most all people tbh in deployment areas....LTE is just an extra perk, I wouldn't let being in an active deployment market vs not determine to get the EVO or not...its not like ur phone is going to completely suck...I had mine in Atlanta and the thing was a champ!... Lte came and went but the overall connectivity of and performance of the device was 10 fold better than in a non deployed market.

Well im not in a market thats going to get LTE until maybe summer or hopefully sooner of 2013 and I am going to be taking my moms upgrade to get the phone that i want cause my laptop broke and my iphone is not going to be able to handle all my multimedia stuff like watching youtube and stuff like that. And give her my iphone 4s cause she likes it better than her og evo and then when it comes down to my upgrade date in Aug 2013 get my upgrade and give her the evo lte if she wants. But I wouldnt want to get it if it has a bunch of signal issues considering she is complaining about all the dropped calls and such.

Edit: Also do u think that the evo LTE is getting better with LTE and 3g signal issues i heard people complaining about, with the latest update and updates in the future get better?
