  1. Are you having issues just on Clearwire band 41 or all band 41? My 5X, going back to at least Dec 2016, had a really hard time with Clearwire band 41 towers. There are two towers near me that when I was connected to them, I would have a good signal according to SCP, but data was usually unusable. Occasionally I would be able to actually connect to sites, but the vast majority of times, it was dead. If I fell back to band 26 or 25 it would work. But other devices, my family's iPhones, and my Nexus 5, have no trouble in those locations. Sprint band 41 towers never gave me an issue. I have searched, and asked Sprint Care, and have never found anything indicating it was a common issue, but for me it was very frustrating. Now the phone is dead, and I'm likely going to buy something different. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  2. Here's my dilemma: I bought Google protect, so if I contact them they might tell me to open a claim. Maybe they won't, but I have a feeling they will. I can't create a claim via Assurant without providing credit card info, and I don't think I should have to pay for a replacement for such a widespread defect that is pretty clearly a trend with LG devices. 3. Well, my 5X joined the ranks of the boot looping LG devices overnight, so I'm back on the N5.. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  4. I swapped back to the 5X this evening, and as expected, data would not work at all on the Clearwire tower again. Before I left, my phone decided to switch to 1900 LTE from another nearby tower, and performance was typical for 1900, between 4.5 and 6 Mbps. When I switched back, it automatically updated the network settings, so that didn't help.
  5. Has anyone ever experienced problems using Clearwire towers with the 5X? There's a particular tower near my son's workplace that my 5X doesn't like. Voice and text work fine, but data is pretty much unusable, even with a good signal (I don't have signal check numbers handy). My kids' iphones seem to work fine there, and I recently got a Nexus 5, and it works just fine there too, with speed test results of 20-25Mbps. Speedtest won't even load there on the 5X. I'm wondering if a forced network settings update would help.
  6. LOL love how Tapatalk thought that was a signature and formatted it as such..
  7. That and they can still only be sent from the Sprint device.
  8. The initial release of the new app on iOS was terrible, but there was another update the other day that fixed the issues I was experiencing. It was freezing and taking forever to sync with the initial release. If there are still issues, I haven't seen them. I only use my iPhone for music anymore and have only checked the GV app occasionally to check for issues.
  9. That drives me sooo crazy every time I buy a phone. I always think they are double charging me until I list out all the payments.. When your monthly bill is $170, it makes the next month's bill over $300. I do a double-take every time!
  10. I've never received a spam caller on my mobile until you all started talking about it. Thanks guys. Actually now that I think about it.. My phone never rang - I got a voice mail notification and transcript from Google Voice. O_o
  11. Thanks. Just wanted to confirm it was still broken, and that I wasn't doing something wrong.
  12. I looked back through this thread and couldn't find any updates - is the engineering screen still not showing when CA is active? I did a couple speed tests while I was out last night, and got 95 and 115 Mbps down, but never saw the second download channel filled in.
  13. At this point, I think only by blocking GV notifications or disabling message forwarding to your device's phone number in GV.
  14. I almost never delete entire conversations, but I do see the value in it for some things, like automatic notification threads. I also hate the insistence on archive instead of delete. Who thought that was a good idea? If I want it gone, I want it gone!
  15. Press and hold a message for a pop-up with a delete option. For a voicemail, tap to expanded, the tap the three dots in the lower left corner of the expanded message area, and there is a delete option.
  16. I had a friend sign up for a GV number and test for me.. The problem send specific to the Sprint-GV integration. He can send and receive MMS to/from me from the GV app. Figures.
  17. Got the update today. Looks tons better. I can send MMS from the app but not receive it. Baby steps in the right direction.
  18. I hope the GV update doesn't break sms forwarding to non - Android phones.. When I had GV enabled in Hangouts briefly, I'd only get messages in Hangouts. If I can no longer forward messages to my Pre3, there is no point using GV integration.
  19. I don't like reading about boot loops happening. I bought Google protect.. Hopefully that will make a difference. I've had mine right at a year now.
  20. Get this. I was talking to a friend today telling him about this, and he sent me an MMS while we were talking (he uses ATT). I got a Textra error notification after a while saying it couldn't download an MMS. Then I went into settings and re-enabled prefer wifi. And what do you know, a few minutes later it downloaded the picture! That's awesome if it doesn't cause issues when I'm not on wifi.
  21. Isn't it carrier-dependent as well? I didn't think Sprint supported MMS over Wi-Fi period. I use Textra, so I'll try enabling that. I'm using a Nexus 5X.
  22. The only scenario where no simultaneous voice and data frustrates me is mms not working over wifi. When I'm at home, on wifi, I can do anything I want when I'm talking on the phone except send or receive MMS. Thankfully there is FB Messenger (aka the devil) or email for sending or receiving pics.
  23. You need to tap "show filters" and change to the 3G and more filter to see the detail for the non-4G coverage. Then the coverage will look the same as the desktop view.
