  1. Called Sprint got my MSL. Tried disabling LTE in the LTE Engineering screen, then re-enabling hoping it would activate LTE, no dice. Not sure what to do until someone figures this out. Switching to LTE Only mode works and signal reception is GREAT. But it has not switched over to LTE on its own even ONE TIME in two days. Could it be a regional issue like someone previously theorized? Can we make a thread with several polls for those with issues to see if we can find a trend?
  2. Ok i can confirm that setting the phobe to LTE only forces it to connect to lte. So whew, not a hardware issue. Signal is great too! Sending this now from the car via lte! Droce out to a known lte area. Now just to figure out how to get it to hand off and connect automatically!
  3. Please PM me or report here what you get, since we are both in Raleigh. That will let us know whether some of the first batch had hardware issues, or if it is having trouble connecting in certain areas.
  4. Also no service, but not sure if I'm in an LTE zone currently, right on the edge, I can test this later. On to the regional theory, is everyone with issues in an A-L zone? or are some in Samsung/Ericson?
  5. Same here done this several times. Even called Sprint to make sure the ICCID was properly activated. Still not a single drop of LTE anywhere.
  6. I do not have SERO and still have not connected to LTE. Sitting at my desk now where my EVO 4G LTE, the worst LTE performer in the universe, would have 2 solid bars. Very concerning, not sure if the phone needs to go back or if it is on Sprints end, or how to find out the answer.
  7. Looks like you are on a call? This phone has no SVDO or SVLTE so data will always drop while on a call.
  8. How's the signal strength in signal check pro compared to what you're used to? Maybe it takes a while for these to get added for some reason? I am at home and no LTE here now (have to have an airrave even). But right up the street is some. But I can confirm I activated mine at home at lunch, drove to work, no LTE on the drive, no LTE at work, no LTE on the drive home after countless reboots and airplane toggles. Here's to hoping it works in the morning!
  9. Looks like we're not out of the woods yet Has anyone with a 32GB white OR black successfully gotten LTE?
  10. Has anyone been able to get LTE on a 32GB Black? I got it activated no problem, but have been in known LTE areas where my EVO 4GLTE would pick up strong LTE quickly and have not gotten anything on the N5. After a reboot or airplane toggle, the LTE logo flashes on the signal bars and then the phone goes back down to eHRPD. Not sure if this is a graphical glitch or if it is having trouble authenticating ? More MEID issues? Issues with my SIM? Any ideas?
  11. How did you get your MSL? My normal go-to root app MSL Reader doesn't seem to work.
  12. This is on the phone, not Google Play. 32GB Black Activated. But not getting any LTE yet in known LTE areas even after airplane mode toggle and reboot. I was told "data services may take 2 hours to activate" Does this have to do with LTE? 3G is authenticating fine.
  13. A profile upa A profile update did the trick, for anyone else with problems.
  14. Got my SIM, entered the info on sprint's site, talked to chat and gave them the info. They told me to turn on the phone. Still no service. They told me to try and make a call and it says "Mobile network not available" Under select mobile networks, sprint is no longer listed (not sure if it was before) only ATT and Tmo. Any ideas? The chat rep seems stumped.
  15. With both the EVO 3d and EVO LTE I had a shipping notice from myUPS (it monitors your address and sends you an email any time a package is coming to that address, even if the seller sends you no tracking) and the device actually delivered to my house before Sprint ever sent me tracking or updated my order status. Don't give up hope
  16. Mine is here, but I could not find a SIM card at the closest 6 Sprint repair centers so I have to wait for Sprint to overnight me one and it will not be here until tomorrow. Oh well, stuck on WiFi for now.
  17. What is the SKU you used? Same run around from the sprint stores in my area and I'm really getting frustrated. One store wanted to charge me $39.99 FIRST to try a Galaxy S4 SIM just to "see if it would work". Can the phone be activated without a store employee after you get a SIM?
  18. Get a new one, no questions asked (other than asking for you to pay the massive deductible) Fixed that for you. If I cracked the screen, I could order a new one from Google for only slightly more than what I would pay in $11/mo and a $200 deductible. Every 6-12 months. Or repair it myself for about $50. I'll take that chance after paying for TEP for years, spending dang close to $1000 on it over the years, and only filing 1 claim (OG EVO 4G). If you have a habit of breaking/losing phones, TEP is definitely for you, but not me, on such a cheap device.
  19. Why would you want it? For a $600 phone? Sure. Paying $11 a month and then a $200 deductible to get a REFURB phone is (barely) understandable. But for a $349 phone????? Are you kidding? I cancelled my TEP the moment my N5 shipped, I'd had it for almost 6 years now.
  20. Ehh...my opinions on LG software were based on those of professional reviewers that I trust, nothing more. I don't have time to spend testing each and every device, they seem un biased and point out the good and bad, I form opinions based on what I want and need from there. Glad you like the G2, I hope you enjoy it. Not my style, nor anyone's thats looking for a nexus device. Can we get back to the delicious news that the N5 will be announced tomorrow and away from the N5 vs G2?
  21. I think he's saying more about all of LG's custom ROM features and (arguably) gimmicky features. I'm no LG guy, but I've surely heard and read how shitty their software is, people hate it WAY more than touchwiz. I'm an HTC guy, and going from Sense to an AOSP rom, both based on the same version of Android, the battery life jump is HUGE. Manufacturer's roms burn more battery period. Bloatware burns more battery, gimmicky features burn more battery. The Nexus 5 will have none of these things, and the guy you are quoting is claiming these will make up for the 700mAh difference. I'm not sure I agree with him, but if you also factor in the larger screen, I'd bet it's pretty damn close when it comes to usable battery life. One car has a 24 gallon tank and gets 15 miles per gallon. One car has a 16 gallon tank and gets 23 miles per gallon. Both make it about the same distance on one tank of gas.
  22. Theyre not. The G2 is too large (for me) and has crappy software. While AOSP ROMs like CM are much better than any stock software and can be installed on the G2...man after running CM on 3 phones for over 3 years, I am sooo tired of the numerous bugs and constant flashing. Cannot wait to have a pure android experience like my Nexus 7 has.
  23. Probably so they can start shipping same day as the announcement.
