  1. Yeah, from a few posts on Macrumors, doing an iTunes restore fixes it. Still not good for Apple. Samsung, get an ad ready!
  2. http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/24/apple-releases-ios-8-0-1/ Update released.

    Samsung Gear S

http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/23/samsung-gear-s-coming-to-the-us-fall/ Apparently is coming. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  4. http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2014/09/samsung-galaxy-note-4-note-edge-australian-pricing-release-dates/ I hope this isn't right. Edge to cost $300!! more! Maybe the Aussie premium for it is a little high but I'm sure it'll be more than $100. Same price as the iPhone 6+ 128GB off contract, so if that pricing follows in the US, would be $500-$550 on a 2 year contract. Gulp. Also release date is 11/5 over there
  5. http://www.androidcentral.com/galaxy-note-4-launch-ahead-schedule-samsung-ambitious-sales-targets Granted, probably not on Sprint (or anyone in the US) considering Sprint's preorders are a week later than others. Samsung didn't do this well. Sure, you announce ahead of the iPhone, but then don't even give a release date until after the launch? Don't assume that possible Note 4 buyers won't look at the iPhone. I probably won't, but the RF performance of the iPhone 6 is sure temping. If the 6+ wasn't even BIGGER than the N4 that would make it more convincing...
  6. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1787928 I'd suggest a case!
  7. It would seem this would be a + for the iPhone 6. Is there any benefit to a consumer to have it? Doesn't seem like it. Plus if you are in a building where LTE is cutting in/out, I'm sure you'd miss calls because of it.

  9. How does that reception compare to the N5? I know it comes back to LTE faster as you said. I wonder if any Android phones allow the LTE rescan to be modified. You'd think if any the N5 would be one. I know some can even change the initial LTE band priority.
  10. No, the N4 doesn't FCC only listed tests for LTE band 25/26/41. What makes the iPhone 6 tempting is apparently it has amazing B41 radio performance, plus very quick to rescan for LTE if it is dropped.
  11. AJ and Robert are supposed to be working on an article on the N4 so I hope it comes soon. Hate to say but it seems like the iPhone 6 has awesome RF performance, even better than the Nexus 5, and the Note 4 may just be so so like the S5. Samsung can make a good RF device (S4T) but they are probably too busy programming touchwiz to care about top RF. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  12. Sprint model ends in P Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
  13. It won't support carrier aggregation on Band 41. Doesn't support it period. Those speeds would go above that, anyway. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
  14. http://www.cnet.com/news/galaxy-note-4-launch-date-set-for-oct-17-preorders-start-tomorrow/ Yikes, CNET says Sprint's price will be $350 on 2 year contract.
  15. I'm hoping there's firm details on it before this preorder promo is over.
  16. Wonder also if you can trade in at one place, then buy at another. So trade at BB, and order online at Sprint for example. Based on a current S5 promo, has to be on same receipt, but not sure how that would work on a preorder?? https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/en-us/Rules Unfortunately the links that are supposed to be on the N4 page for the T&C don't link to anything.
  17. https://samsunggalaxypromotions.com/Note4/ Interesting offer. I wonder if the handset would have to be active to trade in. That maybe wouldn't be a great deal for a Note II, might be able to get more on eBay, but buy a cheap used handset worth $10+ and trade that in? Hmm.
  18. S4GRU alliance for CA enabled devices will file suit.
  19. Unfortunately that doesn't mean it will use it. The Note 4 has the 805 chipset but no aggregation
  20. Does it matter if the iPhone for life plan is a good deal for the consumer or not? It certainly sounds like a great deal with always getting a new iPhone. There are many consumers not savvy enough to sell it on eBay after. Why do you think carriers offer comparatively poor trade in credits on old phones? Heck, they should offer a new iPhone every year plan for an appropriate price! The most recent iPhone models are still worth quite a bit. Also do this for the S6 when it comes out.
  21. They have a cat 6 baseband in some global markets Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  22. It seems based on the FCC results, B41 should dominate. B25/26 seem average.
  23. I think Sprint should do that with other hot phones, at least the Galaxy S. Get the current Galaxy S every two years for free! So S6 owners would get the S8.
  24. I'm hoping the next Nexus as well as if there is a HTC Max replacement are announced before/around the time of the Note 4 release so we can make a good decision. Unfortunately the Nexus is unlikely to support Wi-Fi calling.
