A Redditer is reporting that LTE is live in Williamsport, PA. Seems that GMO retrofitting continues.

It looks like the Mobilitie permit for Tampa is going to expire today. Sad, but not completely unexpected.
-
Has any Nexus 5x users received it? I'm feeling a little left out.
-
I wish Sprint would cede Loudon County to Shentel. They just seem to know the market so much better.
-
So has Mobilitie built any small cell at all in Tampa?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not under their current agreement. Sprint did build some small cells in Channelside and around the Ice Palace/Forum/Amelie Arena for the 2012 GOP convention. I tried to get pictures of them once, but felt a little awkward.
-
The City permitting department has given Mobilitie an 11/11 deadline to address their concerns or the permit expires. Hopefully, this will force their hand....

I called it two days ago. Their plan is to bluff network improvements (small cells cost less and will give use the improvements we need to maintain competitiveness), starve the network (lowering capex) to improve balance sheet (ie pay debt coming due). Short run good ( no default cash positions stay good), long run bad (network starts to have problems again). Markets are forward looking, they know capex is key to sprint maintaining subscriber growth in a way that will grow revenue and free cash flow.

The stock market is not truly forward looking, but I agree people are concerned about their long/medium term network road map. They need to be just a little more forthcoming with how it is going, if at all.

Sprint stocks taking a hit.
I think analysts still aren't buying their 'denisification' strategy because of the limited field results. I get they don't want to give away their strategy, but I think we can all agree it seems a bit stalled with at least one of their major small cell vendors (**cough** mobilitie **cough**).
Oh and the shorts may be trying to cover their arses.

Well it seems Mobilitie hasn't really made any progress getting their permits taken care of. I think that company has bitten off a lot more than they can chew.

I thought equipment was only certified for up to 10x10?
Hmm, I thought that only applied to legacy LTE devices and not the tower equipment.

Were we previously aware of the USCC spectrum swaps in IL, VA, MI, KS, WA? Maybe I've been under a rock.

Toledo and Sandusky have had a 10x10 B25 LTE carrier for at least the past year, so I'm curious why they would want more. I tried looking at the PDF doc, but it won't download for some reason.
Besides more efficient use of the spectrum, I believe they would be able to up their B25 carrier to 15mhz when the trades take place. It's an easy win that only requires paperwork, software updates and minimal truck rolling (if at all).

From the 'general information request' it looks like the Ohio markets have sparked some questions:
a. Provide a detailed description of how the Company would use the spectrum that it would acquire under the Proposed Transaction on a standalone basis and/or in conjunction with any other of the Company’s spectrum holdings, and how it would improve spectrum capacity and efficiency of operations.b. Provide a detailed explanation of why this additional aggregation of spectrum is necessary to provide the Company’s customers with broadband wireless services, and why this additional aggregation of spectrum above the general spectrum screen does not raise any competitive concerns.Sprint submitted a draft response on June 20, 2016 (meeting the FCC's request) and a final response by July 19, 2016. Hopefully, we are getting close!
-
Not sure if this has a separate thread, but it looks like the FCC is slowly working on the spectrum swap with big red.
Found this docket on FCC's ECFS: https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/search/filings?proceedings_name=16-175&sort=date_received,DESC
Haven't found the equivalent for T-Mo yet.

Another highlight from the call - they're looking to get rid of 3G only sites (at least in NYC) by ramping up GMO LTE deployment.
Jealous of your contact, but be careful oversharing in the public forums.

Is Sprint not using Mobilitie for NYC? Both of those names are in house employees.

Verizon Band 13 sucks. I've heard T-Mobile sucks in some areas and is better in others. I'm still on 3G! I hope LTE launches soon.

That is pretty good EvDO though. At least the backhaul seems to be there. Hope they flip the switch soon.

Sprint will not "launch" volte til 2018-2019. Whatever rumors you heard is wrong.

Sad truth, but maybe they could start a very long opt-in beta in September. One could hope...

I am getting really pissed at SB county for delaying their clearance of the 800 MHz spectrum for PS to make way for LTE 800 in LA/OC counties. I am not hopeful that SB county will clear as specified in their contract by end of Jan 2017.
Month after month there doesn't seem to be any progress on the 800 MHz clearing in SB county.
With half the county on fire.... not sure a lot of progress will be made until things cool down.

Trust me, I see this currently in NoCal at my office and I am not happy with the lack of speed. A tower has been down for over a month and Sprint does not seem to be able to fix the problem.
The dark magic of Ericsson. When does part of their agreement turn into a pumpkin?

The Jax market on a whole needs priority. Orlando and Tampa has enough for now. They should shift those workers up north florida.

The workers can stay in Central Florida to finish replacing the legacy Clear equipment... thanks.

I have been in Nevis (via St Kitts) and it worked like a charm on my N5x. Primarily connected to Flow/Cable and Wireless. Texts are sometimes a little delayed, but otherwise things are good here.

Going to Miami next week. I hope the speed and coverage is decent there.
Miami Beach is blazin if that is where you plan to spend most of your time.
-
I'm hope Sprint will fast-track upgrades for Washington, DC, especially given the huge crowds expected for the Presidential inauguration in January 2017.
Yeah, that is what I don't get. It isn't permitting, many have been open and extended for nearly a year. I'd assume the ALU-Nokia merger wouldn't have impacted the supply chain this dramatically since there was an existing order....

Anyone get the RCS update yet?
