Just wanted to chime in, drove all about the east side of GR, didn't lose eHRPD. Now, we just wait to see if any work has been done...Same thing in Lansing, very encouraging that eHRPD was found in GR. I'll check my Mom's Photon Q tonight when I pick up my son from a day with Mimi & Papa to see if we have it in Lansing.

Apparently, a 3G Modem costs $80 to the consumer to include and certify.

You know, I heard once from a Singaporean woman, that if you see a line and have even the slightest idea of what it is, you get in it - it must be for something good!
This is opposed to the American idea where waiting in line is something to be dreaded.
-
Huh, you are absolutely right. How strange. So much for Google's influence over their now-owned company. Not all. The NFC-capable Photon Q, for some unknown reason, is not compatible (yet?) with Google Wallet.

Kind of like they did with the Galaxy Nexus, where it had a lesser camera than the GS2. I thought that was a lame move.

Frankly, I thought that the Nexus's 5 MP camera's photos tended to look sharper than, say, the Photon's 8, the EVO's 8, the GS2's 8...
But of course, that's all subjective.

Oh, also, Sprint has the best Phone Rooting/Unlocking policy. All the Samsung devices have full Odin support available, HTC can be unlocked via HTCDev. Surprisingly few Sprint phones are completely locked down...
-
For me, yes. Sprint has Google Voice integration. Sprint has Google Wallet on all their NFC-capable phones.

Around here, people are leaving for VZW because of coverage. This is a very rural, hilly, tree-ey area, so VZW's 850 Ceullular and 750 LTE (on a tower co-located with Sprint), and many fringe areas (where Nextel once reached before iDEN thinning), well, VZW has good service with LTE and Sprint has "fair" on their coverage map.
Of course, Sprint will be just as good come ESMR, but that doesn't stop iDEN migration customers from leaving now.
Now, Sprint is also building customers, a pretty good amount actually. I cannot speak to numbers or specifics, but I can say that the store I work at is doing far from bad.

It's a femtocell with your internet as the backhaul. At least, I think so. Watch AJ correct me on this, lol

You may want to see if a manager at a Sprint store can switch you out for an S3. I cant' check ATM (nor could I tell you if I did, NDAs and all that), but If I were a betting man, I'd put money on you being able to swap models after getting multiple exchanges. Comparable device features, after all.I would trade this EVO LTE in a heartbeat for an S3 if I could. Even if the S3 was pink with fake diamonds encrusted around the edges.

eHRPD just clicked on in 49331. I'm connected to DE34IP709. I assume this means the 4G Core for the area is online. I can also assume that eHRPD is live in Grand Rapids and the surrounding areas. I'll be a bit more downtown tomorrow to check.
This may have been on for some time; I only just now realized that the EVO LTE on CM10 has issues connecting to eHRPD. Not more than a couple weeks, as I've checked other phones in that time period.
edit: Also just pulled down a couple speed tests at 1.8+. 1895 Kbps and 1802 Kbps down. Screenshots available upon request, of course.

Bi-Directional Amplifier.
Sure, they tend to run $500+...

Yes! Let's all become latitude friends!

Optik is still sold in stores that have inventory.

IMHO, the 3d was a good phone outside the whole... 3d aspect. It even got ICS recently, and can actually run it unlike the Design. After the battery issues with the EVO 4G (terrible battery life, even with Wimax off), the debacle that was the EVO 3D (gimmicky and it seems terribly supported), now the EVO LTE connectivity issues, HTC needs to fix all aspects of its business.
And their manufacturing isn't so great either. I swear I've repaired more HTC phones than any other. I had to replace some EVO LTEs here and there, and the S3 has been pretty much trending towards 0.
Samsung sure have turned themselves around since the Moment and Intercept. If they can do it, HTC can too.
-
My iPhone4-wielding friends already make fun of my EVO LTE for being a "pocket tablet". I can't WAIT to get the Note 2, whip it out and say, in my best TF2 Heavy Weapons Guy impersonation, "YOU ARE SO SMALL! Is funny to me! HA HA HA"

I know they're kinda kitschy, but, you know those Flip Covers for the GS3? I want a N2 and one of those. Real bad.

Remember that pronunciation in Japanese varies, among other things, on gender... a woman might say "Sofutobanku" pronouncing everything, but chances are a guy is going to elide those "u"s - the short "o" sounding like uh in English phonetics.
While you are correct, for some people, in Kanto-ben mostly, modern Japanese romanization techniques all agree on "o". And as we are communicating via text, it should be o, not uh.
-
And while I'm on the topic of network perception...
Sprint roams on VZW anyways, so many of those areas are covered. Most of you would be shocked to learn that most consumers do not believe their phones actually work at all when roaming. It's because "roaming guard" is turned on by default on almost all phones, so they cannot make or receive calls without extra keypresses - which causes them to get frustrated and believe that it's impossible (really). In addition, Data Roaming is disabled by default, so no internet connection. So, what happens is, they hop on a VZW tower, and start thinking "my GOD Sprint has NOTHING out here I CANT EVEN MAKE A DARN PHONE CALL this is the WORST I am about to THROW THIS THROUGH A WALL"
That, and, while roaming, calls will not complete without the area code. For example, if you live in the 888 area code, normally dialing 2114727 will go through. However, while roaming, you need to dial the complete 8882114727. And seeing as many subscribers have contacts without area codes... well, I did just say people believe you can't make phone calls while roaming...
And the end result is, people think that Verizon will give them better service. When they just had to read what was on the screen.

Depends on where you go. Verizon 3G is not faster than Sprint in all places here in Northern New Mexico. Sprint 3G is faster in Los Alamos and in some parts of Santa Fe. I have a VZW work phone and hotspot, so I compare Sprint and VZW head to head all the time.
Sprint's Network Vision nationwide upgrade is bringing drastically improved 3G. In completed places it meets or exceeds VZW 3G performance.
Robert via Nexus 7 using Forum Runner
Eeeeeexactly.
I can give people plenty of VZW Speedtests around here that are sub 100 Kbps, at a better 3G signal than -90. I can show you plenty of places VZW lies about their coverage. I can introduce you to plenty of customers that brag about the incredible speeds they get, then proceed to WiFi offload because they're afraid of data usage.

Are you making light of me?Not just either...or.
I say it wrong...and I have an American accent. But that is by design...and I use it to the desired effect.

Pronunciation is only subjective in the respect that it's based on what people agree. Say it wrong, and you're either wrong... Or have an American accentEh, "to-may-to," "to-mah-to." Pronunciation is subjective...
On the other hand, RF is objective. Screw that up, and I will rip you a new one.

sofutobanku.Well, Darth, take that up with the "Soft-uh-Bank" announcer. Or maybe the dog will see you to address your complaint.

sofuTO, not tuh!
I know I'm nitpicking, but that's what happens when you study things and see people doing it not quite right. I'm sure you know the feeling
