No, that's beyond my control. It's an Android bug the Android developers need to fix. It impacts all apps with multi-layered dynamic icons, as well as apps that are displaying more than one notification simultaneously. They haven't said anything on the official issue tracker report so I doubt it will be fixed with this week's monthly Android update (which should've been out today but still hasn't been released), but who knows.

Thanks for your awesome work @mikejeep

Saw a bit more Sprint B2 both in Austin (at the airport) and in MO/IA/IL north/west of St. Louis.

Also saw a site (Quincy, IL) capped at 100 Mbps backhaul despite broadcasting 140 MHz n41. The 20x20 n71 site 45 minutes north had better speeds. Fair amount of n71+n41 in NSA configurations. USCC roaming data didn't work at all, so seems like T-Mobile is restricting when they (think they) have a network of their own.

USSC roaming here in Neb is throttled down to 2Mb or less, however Viaero has been excellent.

I'm in WV for vacation right now, and the place I'm staying at has a Sprint/VZ site on the mountain next to me 0.5 miles away. When I arrived, the site seemed to be off since I couldn't connect to it even when very close to it. I took a walk in the area a few hours later and my phone connected to the Sprint site briefly, but switched back to US Cellular roaming when I returned to where I was staying. Not sure what is going on with the site, but I'll see if I can check it out sometime soon.

Same thing happened to me in Estes Park, CO. New strong Sprint site went up a couple years ago. When I was there last month, it seemed to be OFF.

Hopefully it's in the conversion process to T-Mo equipment.

  4. Switched to TNX. Data Roaming Good & BAD since the switch:

Took a trip out West since switching from Sprint to TNX. T-Mobile treats Viero as native 'kinda' in my market. It will seamlessly switch between T-Mobile bands and Viero bands and does not show up as "R" at the top of the phone when on the Viero network. This is great and bad at the same time! What I didn't know is that there is a brickwall limit when using Viero even though you have no idea you are roaming unless you use Signalcheck and check the band/network. After a few days on my trip my data essentially stopped working completely. T-Mobile slowed the speeds down so much that I could no longer view web pages, go to Youtube, etc. Didn't matter how many times you toggled Airplane mode or reboot the phone. I had to turn on hotspot on my wife's phone and connect through hers to do anything for the rest of the trip until getting back to native T-Mobile. What was equally disappointing is that even though I was back in native T-Mobile coverage area, the phone would still lock on to Viero and not switch to T-Mo! Took a good couple hours for the phone to switch over and data to start working again.

I wish there was an alert of some sort when you are roaming and have some sort of meter in your roaming usage online or something. Also, offer some sort of way to add more data, such as 10G for $10 or whatever to open the pipe back up.
