  1. I'm starting to see my 5G mapping show up on CellMapper. I'm still surprised by how little N5 is active in Louisville, especially considering how many sites should be capable based on B5 LTE added during the recent upgrades. I thought it was just a firmware update to switch from B5 to N5. Only a handful of sites even have the 5G indicator, and of those only a smaller group are actually broadcasting N5. The good part is that as long as the adjacent sites have been upgraded it will keep the N5 connection while connected to LTE from another site. Map of Louisville: I've seen the 5G indicator whenever a site has "Support" for the UPPERLAYER_IND_R15 field in the Service Mode screen. It will not show when connected to a non-anchor LTE band. For N5 its B2, B4(B66), and B30 as the anchor bands. N260 adds B12 as an anchor band. I'll have to do some more in depth testing to see how much N5 is contributing speed wise, the sites I've tested so far I don't really have any before data to compare to. My phone (S20 Ultra) doesn't seem to have any trouble initially connecting to and staying connected to N5, and it seems to want to hang on to a tower that supports it longer before handing off to the next tower at times. I have noticed NR PCIs high into the 900s, vs LTE PCIs that didn't go much higher than 500. MM-Wave testing SO far I've only found N260 on one site in Louisville. Looks like an Ericsson M-MIMO panel. I was wondering if it would be on all of the small cells they are throwing up everywhere but so far they're still only B2/B46 LTE. I wasn't able to test range much in the below example as its downtown around lots of buildings and bridges. Luckily there is a McDonald's right next to the tower, so that is where this testing is from. Disclosure: I was going for best case scenario for testing. I had the case off and was holding it out my window to get the best signal. But I did connect to it just fine in my truck with the windows up and case still on for the first test. The first round of tests were done at 6:30pm on March 13th. I had the opportunity to test this site again at 1:30am last Sunday morning from the same spot to see the difference from a high traffic time to a low traffic time: Ping was consistently around 14-15ms
  2. Has anyone observed any prep work on T-mobile sites yet? At this point can they go ahead and start hanging B41 M-MIMO gear? Could Sprint lease them unused B41 spectrum in a market for testing and tuning if they do start installing equipment? I know there's still a few last hurdles but it looks to be pretty much guaranteed at this point that the merger will close soon. I've seen tower crews on some T-mobile sites around here but haven't been able to tell what they are doing yet.
  3. N5 coverage is spotty at best here so far. But I have found it in a few spots outside of where the coverage map shows it live. That N260 tower I tested on is the only one I've found so far here. On the AT&T version the only NR bands active currently are N5 and N260. Not sure why they disabled the others. Assuming they'll enable through updates as they launch other bands.
  4. The phone shipped with a new sim in the box. I didn't try to reuse my old one. Samsung already had it preloaded to my AT&T account, I just had to confirm the numbers matched and activate.
  5. I noticed they changed here in Louisville Saturday night/Sunday morning. Will MOCN allow them to host VoLTE across each other's networks? I did some quick reading on it and it looks like it might, but I don't know enough about it. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  6. AT&T N260, not to shabby. I wonder if this is the faster test on an S20 series so far... I'll post more on this in the AT&T thread later. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
  7. Found some 5G+ on my S20 Ultra today. I'll go back another day and do some actual testing, I saw this driving by on the interstate and grabbed a quick screenshot. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
  8. I got the Buds+ with my Ultra also. Loving them so far, love that you can charge the case wirelessly. Ive never had the older version to compare but the ambient sound mode on these is great as long as I don't have my volume up too load. It's great for working at my desk. Setup was super easy, as soon as I opened the case the first time the galaxy wearable app popped up on my phone and asked if I wanted to pair. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  9. At least for me Cellmapper defaults to showing the GCI in decimal instead of hex. I always change the setting on the app and website to show me the hex value. If you use Signal Check Pro you're likely used to seeing it in hex form.
  10. Plugged my Ultra in to charge at 5% right around 1pm. 80% charge on this battery in 30 minutes is pretty impressive. Using the provided charger but I did get a longer type C cable so I could reach my bed while its plugged in. Edit: reached 100% at 1:54. Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
  11. Anybody else having trouble uploading points to CellMapper over the last couple of days? Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
  12. Import/export is working on both of my phones now. [emoji106] I didn't see any NR info coming through on SCP this morning. I did notice that Cellmapper is showing RSRP and some other stats on my S20 Ultra, but I have no idea how its getting that info. I didn't think to send a diagnostic report this morning but I did send one back on Wednesday when connected to N5. (If the screenshots are huge I'll resize them when I get home to my desktop) Sent from my SM-G988U using Tapatalk
  13. I put SCP in Diagnostic mode and tried exporting logs, exporting DB, and importing logs. Captured this screenshot incase its helpful. I already had this done when I saw your post about finding the problem. http://imgur.com/a/8UPXVpx
  14. It occurred to me today to try using Samsung's SmartSwitch app to try to restore SCP from my old S9+ to my S20 Ultra. I was able to get it to finally transfer but I had go into app settings and clear cache, clear data, then uninstall SCP on my new phone. Then once I restored SCP from my S9+ to my Ultra it installed the app as part of the transfer and the DB came with it. Originally when I set my new phone up I did it from scratch. It still won't let me export site logs or the log DB. Importing still does the same also. At least this way I have my sites notes back.
  15. Here are some screenshots from my N5 testing today. It wasn't nearly as widespread in Louisville as I would have thought given how many sites are upgraded and theoretically should have N5 live. I also noticed that I held onto the same N5 carrier from one tower to another tower, so it must not be like LTE where you can only aggregate carriers from the same tower together. The 3rd screenshots at 6:36 were from the next tower south, but it still showed PCI 43 for the NR N5 carrier. And the 5Ge indicator is back for the southern tower. I thought maybe it was just stale data at first but the levels keep fluctuating and Cellmapper keep showing NR connection as well.
  16. Just received the March 1st update on my Ultra.
  17. I love the battery life on the Ultra. My S9+ would have been dead by now sitting at my desk with the weak signal I have in my office building. Ultra is still sitting at 75% at 4pm. And I've been playing around with it more today than I usually do at work. I'm still getting used to the screen fingerprint reader, but I've setup facial unlock as well. Most of the time its recognized my face before I can even put my finger on the screen. Haven't gotten to play around with the camera much yet but so far 24hrs in I'm loving this thing. I've seen some AT&T 5G but haven't gotten to play around with it yet. Edit: Also, it looks like the accessories I ordered with it have shipped as well, some are coming today and the rest tomorrow.
  18. A Sprint Ericsson site with M-MIMO or Mini Macro for B41 will have 5 GCIs for the same site, 1 for B25, 1 for B26, and 3 for B41.
  19. Anybody else having trouble moving their SCP database to their S20? I posted in the SCP Beta thread also, i get an error when I try to export a DB from my S20 and I can't see my storage to import my DB I pulled from my S9+. My phone showed up today 🙂
  20. FWIW I get the same errors on my Sprint S9+, but do not get it on my AT&T S9+. Not sure what would be different between them, all 3 are on Andriod 10 with February 1st security update.
  21. I just tried exporting my log on the S20 with one site to see if I could see it to import back and I get a permission denied error when trying to export the log. Assuming that's why I can't see the log to import either. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  22. Mike, I'm having trouble importing my log file onto my new S20. Not sure if it's an app issue or phone issue. All of the permissions look correct. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no affect. When I tap on import logs it pops up the black screen with the 2 dots up top and nothing else, if I tap the 2 dots I get 3 options, but all three are blank as well. When I check the signal check folder using Samsungs file explorer I see the log file there. Thoughts? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  23. Mine still just shows as In Process with expected delivery of March 5th. I haven't recieved any shipping info yet. All of the accessories I ordered just show order placed. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  24. Damn, mines not estimated to ship until Wednesday. I preordered straight from Samsung.
