Indicative of true EVDO speeds?
HawaiiD replied to dequardo's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
Unless your area hasn't been upgraded with NV(network vision). That's about what your speeds will be at for the time being. Sent from my Coconut Wireless -

Aloha Robert, April, is among us now. Speeds in Hawaii Continue to be very slow. Have you got any information if any? Regarding NV in Hawaii? My OG evo is still chugging away. But The newer phones I.E. the s3 are making My evo look like a 78 Granada. So I am really Itching to upgrade. The htc one on t mobile Is looking mighty attractive Sent from my Coconut Wireless

Speeds are hit and miss you can sometimes get lucky. Forget YouTube and Netflix streaming over 3g. If you have an old evo with wimax? You can sometimes get decent speeds if your standing still. Wifi pretty much all over the place. Only thing is if it is offered for free say like I place like mcdonald's? You will need to get a password from the cashier. Apple stores at the major malls have free unsecured wifi. Most hotels I think now offer free wifi or wifi service in included with a resort fee per day. Aloha. Sent from my Coconut Wireless

Comments related to the NV Running List Thread

LOL.. I am paying Sprint Almost 160.00 month for this These data speeds. Just like you I'm trying to be patient Sent from my Coconut Wireless -
You know Robert, I can't believe Sprint has let their data speeds Go to the ground here. I remember Just last summer 3g could get upwards of 2mbs DL. Now 100-300kbs is the norm. I can no longer stream anything with out buffering every 5 seconds. Wimax is ok, but if you move 10 feet to the right or left it drops the signal. And walk into a building? That's a guaranteed drop of signal. When you say no announcement soon? More than 6 months? A year? Sent from my Coconut Wireless

Comments related to the NV Running List Thread

With that being said? They should be upgrading Hawaii Ave low of 66-68 and high Of 80 right now. NV could be done In no time Sent from my Coconut Wireless -
WiMax was on the mainland "years" before 2010? Am I missing something? Also, in my opinion, anyone in a wimax area should be instabanned for complaining that they don't have LTE yet... Pryroscott, We had wimax through Clear wireless in Hawaii for sometime before sprint launched it as their 4g platform. Also, why do you speak of Banning people just because we/I are inquiring about LTE? Where in this thread am I coming across to you as complaining? I for one think people who quote other's post and make a comment That is not even about or contribute to the thread at hand Should be banned? Agreed? Sent from my Coconut Wireless

Robert, When you say working on 3G first? Do you mean upgrading the Backhaul to fiber from T1? And what do you mean by 3G acceptance? Why I state this? If you check on the network updates per Sprint's network site. There Has been almost 70 upgrades in the Last 6 months according to Sprint. Majority of the upgrades were of the the data speeds and capacity nature. I know that NV and the (data speed/capacity) updates per Sprint's Site are not the same entirely. What will the Nv upgrades Show up like on Sprint's Network updates site? Also, So after this 3G acceptance Is so to say granted? What will be the next step? Thanks. Sent from my Coconut Wireless

Markjcc, I read this article long time ago in the star advertiser. I don't see any lte or ehrpd Information in that article. However, on the Sprint community Forum, there is a member who Claims to have had the 4g lte Icon light up momentarily on His sprint lte phone. He was on Oahu. Sent from my Coconut Wireless
