  1. Yep my coworker is experiencing really bad service data, texting, phone calls for about the past week or so
  2. From what I remember before? Yes the service Seems to take a hit then all of a sudden service Became better than it was from before. I'm not sure if it was Time Warner. or Sprint contractors but there was trucks in Liliha (kunawai st) with fiber optic cables huge rolls I might add that they were unloading. Is there. Sprint towers near Kunawai St?
  3. Markjcc if you go back to page one of this thread I had a lot to say about Sprint. Until that is... Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  4. Does it say where on Kapiolani Blvd? That's one long Blvd. From almost downtown to Kaimuki. WAIMANU is pearl city? Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  5. Yes I have been with T-mobile for the past 3 months. And yes I am very happy with their service. I agree T-mobile had garbage speeds a couple of years back. But for the areas with LTE now ? Speeds are pretty fast. Sprint will be really competitive once they completed merging It's synergies (Sprint, softbank, clearwire) in the future. Only question is how long will it take? It will also be interesting to see what type of new plans there will be for Sprint? Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  6. Aj, I do live in the the real world. Am I trolling? Tell me about what's going on with sprint nv in Hawaii? That's where I live. Plus I am posting in a T-Mobile section. I can honestly say T-Mobile has bumped up the data speeds in Honolulu to almost 50 MB average Near my location. Sprint 3g here is still very slow. As well as many other places around the country that Nv hasn't started. You want T-mobile to suffer Because the the ceo in your opinion made some comments That hurt your feelings? You can call me names all you want. If it makes you feel better. I don't go around Calling people ignorant customers Like you. I respect your knowledge in regards To technology regarding cellular networks. But hey we are all have opinions. The future for Sprint is? That sprint in better position to have the more robust national network coverage than T-mobile. With the buyout by Softbank and the heaps of spectrum via the acquisition of clearwire. The future looks bright for Sprint. Who knows? If Sprint offers better service and price point in the future? I wouldn't hesitate to come back.. But now presently Sprint's Nv Build out is in year 2 and seems to be at a much slower pace than T-Mobile. I know Sprint is upgrading their backhaul and at the same time Upgrading their cell sites. Which Takes a bit longer than T-mobile which already has their fiber in place. Can you say props to T-mobile? I understand edge is still the the Primary network in rural areas across the nation. But they are refarming this spectrum as we speak and upgrading to Hspa. From what I gather T-mobile started their fiber optic backhaul in 2007. Which sprint should have done also instead of thinking microwave antennas would be their answer at the time. Also, T-mobile has upgraded or in the process of upgrading 37,000 of their towers with LTE release 10 equipment. Which Should make the transition to lte more Seemless. If you read up on T-mobile lately? This last quarter was one if their best ever? They gained 1.1 million customers. Both companies are not near perfect. I am one who likes to support the underdog. As I said before. I hope Softbank can Come in and shake up the wireless industry. I was a Sprint/Nextel customer since 1999. It is not like I am some hater from At&t or Verizon who had no attachment to Sprint, to form an opinion. Anyways, the future looks bright for the number 3 and 4 companies. 7. Plus when it was with Sprint my monthly bill was 160.00. Yup who knows? What T mobile has in store later. But as of now I am not locked in any contract. I can bail if they get greedy. As it is. I enrolled into that jump program. Which allows me to upgrade my phone every 6 months. My bill for 2 lines unlimited talk text wifi calling, one line unlimited data and the other with 2.5GB. Is 128.00 total with insurance. Plus in Honolulu. T-mobile just bumped up their lte speeds. I almost got 60MB down today. With average speeds almost 50MB DL. Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  8. Yep I actually left sprint because I was using an airave device. Which Would always send 10 of the same text messages to whomever I text and then would lock up my phone. Sprint sent me a return box to which I mailed out the very next day. Anyways they told me that they needed the package back in 7 days. Sprint received the packed 4 days later per tracking. But they took another week to process the package to with I was charged about 110 dollars. I went back and forth for about 3 frustrating weeks trying to get A refund. But in the end they said sorry... They cannot reverse the charge. So with the slow data Speeds here plus what Sprint did to me after 13 years of loyalty? I had to move. 9. Just checking out how nv is coming along. Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  10. But the thing is, it is.... T-mobile is just blowing sprint out of the water when it comes to rolling out their LTE network. Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  11. Bill, I give you mad props for waiting out Nv for Hawaii. I left for T-mobile 3 months ago. I couldn't be happier. I just couldn't handle the slow Roll out coupled with the slow data Speeds we have here in Hawaii. Hopefully, Sprint will finally get things Done sooner than later though. 12. 2 towers only? How many towers does Honolulu have? Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  13. Markjcc, I give you credit if your still on Sprint in without nv. Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  14. The problem is that my question was sarcasm and did not warrant a "straight answer." Did you not see the winking smiley? Additionally, you pulled a three month old post completely out of context. Go back and read my quote of lilotimz's post. Or, better yet, read all of lilotimz's post two above mine. AJ Aj, I haven't been around these forums much lately, however, I do drop by from time to time. I was directed to this topic via a link on the android Central Forums from a member there . So even if the post 3 months old or not I don't See it as a problem?I just read and replied. upon your sarcasm as you put it. Robert, My reply was based on What happens when the lte here Drops out. Maybe it's not the same as how it is in New Mexico? But that's how Tmobile has it setup here. And if it's just an overlay? Why do I still get hspa when lte drops out? Wouldn't they both drop out and put me back on edge? If it was just an overlay? Ever since lte went live here about a month ago? I don't seen 2g edge anymore. Currently It is only 4G lte or 4G. Signals and speed are pretty good where ever I have been so far. Even 2 stories underground at work where our company nextel never did aquire a signal nor my evo with Sprint. Just to let you know... Sprint in Hawaii is still very, very, very slow. Hope that all changes when softbank takes over though. Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  15. Aj, I understand what your trying to relay. However, I think your missing my point... I was just responding to your post "But But but what about that 4G Hspa+ fallback' This is simply my experience with how T-mobiles Fall back to hspa+ from lte is working out for me. Weather it is different on the mainland from Hawaii? I don't know? I can't speak for others. But for Me? It's working out fine. I'm not trying to add or misinterpret your post. It was just a straight answer to your question?
  16. Aj, It is great going from 30MB DL lte to 20MB hspa+ If Somehow LTE drops out . It Doesn't skip a beat At all. I couldn't say the same for sprint when my wimax Would hardly connect, then drop to 3g and get 26kb DL.
  17. Wow that's the small island of Molokai Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
  18. T-mobile LTE is live in Honolulu now but coverage is very limited. First test I got was 21MB down and 16MB up. I like the fact that when LTE drops out? HSPA+ (15-22 MB down) kicks in. Sent from my Coconut Wireless HTC One
  19. There's no smoke and mirrors for me. Say, like in my case, you have 2 phone on a shared plan with T-Mobile. And decided to pay installments 20 dollars each or 40 dollars for both phones. 40 dollars will be added to your monthly bill. After the 24 months your bill will drop by 40 dollars. With any other carriers even after your 2 year contract is up. You bill will still be the same. Example.... For me with Sprint I was paying 157.00 dollars a month with a 24 % Corporate discount on a simply everything 1500 minute shared plan. With T-Mobile my bill would have been about 155.00 with 15% with my corporate discount. If I paid monthly for my phone. My plan is unlimited un throttled Data. My wife's line is 2.5GB. Both plans has unlimited calling, text, etc. Also includes free wifi called from anywhere in the world. And 500 MB of tethering on my line and whatever ever data cap of tethering on my wife's line. Since... I have paid both phones off. My total bill for this month is 126.00 Dollars with insurance for both phones. I will probably be even In price with sprint for the next 2 years since I bought the phones outright. But after the 24th month. I will be saving 30 dollars a month. Or until I get a new phone? So there are some good value in T-Mobile's un carrier plan. That is if T-Mobile has good coverage in your area? Sent from my HTC One Coconut Wireless
  20. True AJ, I do know we have AT&T antennas On my job site. As for the other 3 careers? I don't know where their antennas are located Sent from my Coconut Wireless
  21. Robert, From what I see at my work place and at my sisters home, Tmo is really good on Oahu especially in Honolulu. Thats why I have been on the fence on moving on to Tmo. Also,we are phasing out our Nextels at work because Nextel will be gone after next month.Even on the Iden PTT 800 SMR frequencly we lose signal when I am in our central plant or any undergorund location at work.I always have to come out of the central plant to call someone. The Verizon PTT 3G(casio phones) we are testing now works great everywhere including our central plant. My Sprint Evo loses signal there too. 3G,4G Wimax nada maybe 1x here and there. There my phone roams on Verizon. People say AWS is not as good as 800 SMR etc, etc. However,I seen Verizon LTE(700mhz) signal,At&T LTE(700mhz) signal, and Tmo HSPA+(AWS) in our central plant. I don't know why but the other 3 carriers except Sprint work just fine there. maybe is the tower spacing in Honolulu? I'm sure Sprint will be much better after NV is completed here. But from a personal experience unless Sprint will be adding more towers or boosting their signals in around Waikiki/Metro Honolulu? I just wonder about how the signals will improve with Sprint here even with 800MHZ CDMA/LTE.
  22. Should have asked the driver of the van if he was installing sprint lte equipment Sent from my Coconut Wireless
