a sprint account executive told me that they are upgrading the antennas, but they aren't throw the fiber optic cables, so i;m think the 1005 will be some time in the summer. i think the PR/VI will be the first market at 100%.
I think it will as well. We are one of the smallest markets for sprint which means less equipment and install times compared to other markets. I'm really amazed on how far sprint has come since this thread was started. Time will tell

Not really. Samsung has brought 3G up in clusters all over the island since the beginning. This is the last 3G cluster outside the metro area. Now the whole island has at least 3G upgrades outside San Juan. And about 1/3 of San Juan metro has been 3G completed.

Thats great news! At least work will be focused on the metro area of the island. I also see that 3g is complete on Vieques and Culebra. (according to network.sprint.com 1 data upgrade in only site of Culebra and 2 data upgrades for the two sites in Vieques)
All we need is the VI and metro area now

something must be happening with that site, it's been a while...
I know, also the Palmas site hasn't been up yet. I'm pretty confident it can reach plaza rio hondo since I get -105 LTE from the Drive in plaza site when I'm near a window.(the drive in plaza site is way further than Palmas)

Wow sprint was kind of fast upgrading the eastern side of the island. I remember checking a week ago on network.sprint.com and there wasn't anything announced for Fajardo and Luquillo. Today or yesterday they listed all of Fajardo and Luquillo with NV 3g complete. ....yet the rio hondo site in bayamon is quiet

Nice! My folks have an apartment at Peñamar Ocean Club in front of Villa Marina, I like coming every once in a wgile to visit palomino and palominito. You will now have some good 3g from sprint there

Yeah apparently they do! Remember they were using Centennials system, when Centennial Left, ( i was caught with that) they lost a lot of service towers and connections. Now, they are building up slowly. Few people have told me to leave sprint, but i dont want to. Has not given me problems during the past 4 years. 2nd upgrade is in April, and not sure if I want to stay with the same EVO 3D until it dies ( old faithful) or get something new. Suggestions?
Still a long way to go until you are due for an upgrade. My advice is don't get any of the current phones since better ones will be announced and released by then.

Work is still continuing in Puerto Rico. Most of the work is being done by local subcontractors. However, inspectors come from stateside. If you look back in the history since work started in PR, there have been many weeks with no accepted sites. It all comes down to inspector's schedules.

I'll feel bad for the inspector who gets sent to the San Juan area between Thrusday and Sunday.

After Thursday I can guarantee no work will be done in the San Juan area until Monday due to the celebrations of San Sebastian.

That Puerto Rican joke went right over my head!
Robert
Shes the mayor of San Juan now after Jorge Santini (He was mayor for 12 years in a row) and everyone is laughing at him because he acted selfish and overconfident in our recent elections against her. Hell, he didn't even bother to participate in public debates with her since he "knew" he could win without lifting a finger. Turns out that the city gave him the boot in favor of Carmen and people speak of like if she were a queen for winning the elections against him with very limited campaign time and resources.
Her term started yesterday in San Juan with a celebration for the public that had San Juan tighter than fort knox.
Just to be clear I'm not a political fanboy I'm just stating what happened This is so this isn't turned into a politics debate
Getting back on topic to sprint, I almost threw my GS3 against the wall today. I have a buddy who works for UPS and he calls me every time there is a package on his truck for me so I can be at home. Since my home has a gated telephone entry system that dials to our phones in order to open, he couldn't reach me. He told me he waited 35 mins calling non stop for me since I was his last delivery and I felt bad for making him waste his time. He told me the gate calls went straight to voice mail. After like 2 hours I received all the missed calls (28 to be exact) from the gate.

Huh? What does a government change have to do the work being realized as far as network upgrades? Are they building new towers that need government permits?
Anyway, I was at a doctor's office in Auxilio Mutuo yesterday and I had LTE in the doctor's examination room, but 1x in the waiting room ugh.
I also get pretty good LTE at my in-laws in Guayama, go figure.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knows about an alternative to google maps and tele nav GPS applications that features offline useage.
On the rare occasions when I actually use the GPS on my phone, I don't have a data connection.
If I can't find anything I'll just buy a cheap garmin unit and keep it in the glovebox for when I need it.

Is this with ehrpd or just evdo rev a.

The Rio Hondo site will be up soon. Been doing random speedtests and it has given me speeds over 600kbps over the usual 200-300kbps. Note that this site will be a train wreck since its going to be shared with a shopping mall and over 10 neighborhoods around the area. No 4g yet.

Went from Mayaguez to Bayamon. This is a two hour trip.
I initiated a call on western plaza as I drove towards bayamon and the call didn't drop. It lasted around 35mins because I was kept on hold for a while. Usually I used to get dropped at least once while driving through the same area. Looks like Sprint is also improving its voice coverage and it shows. Hoping the Bayamon and San Juan area gets the same results.
Also I had to stop at Sam's in Hatillo and got 4g there.

2 days ago the Rio Hondo site had me on roaming for a full day since it was down apparently. Hoping they are working on it, still it came back online yesterday and no signs of NV 3g or 4g.

The prizes make me curious. Wonder if they are going to give away accesories or cases.
