I kind of feel like they are more focused on quantity over quality in this whole expansion to meet verizon thing. Now I don’t use t-mobile but from what I hear their coverage where they are expanding to tends to be not the greatest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Apparently T-mobile thinks they will have coverage on par with Verizon within the next 12 months. Possibly sooner. http://www.cnet.com/news/t-mobile-vows-to-match-verizons-coverage-in-next-12-months/#ftag=CAD590a51e

Still on 9.0.2 on my 6+ Would you recommend the upgrade? Not too sure about the semi-untethered aspect of it. Does CellularInfo work just as well?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Signal Booster Question - Feasible? Which?
bipbapbam replied to Trip's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
So I'm going to revive this old thread. Are there any signal boosters that boost Band 41 yet? I read a while ago that Wilson/WeBoost couldn't make them due to the FCC not allowing them (not sure why. If you know, I'm more than happy to learn), but they were trying to appeal that decision. Does anybody know of any signal boosters that work with all three Sprint bands? Or does the FCC still not allow boosters for B41? -

Is the developer still around? I wonder if they would ever be willing to open source this project. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Is it known whether or not it has 2GB of ram? I’m fine with it not having 2xCA. Not surprising, but disappointing. I’ll be selling my 6+ and getting this as I’m sick of the size (I don’t watch enough videos on my phone to justify the size, plus I’d rather just buy a bigger laptop/tablet for videos on the go) and the 5s design is gorgeous. So some slightly upgraded specs to hold me over until my next upgrade in November. Fingers crossed for 3xCA in the iPhone 7. If not maybe I’ll see what windows and android are up to. If Microsoft can eventually get continuum right, I may not be able to resist. Edit: Wait, why no band 13 on the Sprint model? I have a feeling that’s going to be a pretty big hit on resale value. It would be nice, but for some reason I doubt it will include tethering. They didn’t include tethering when they matched their unlimited family plan last time. But I hope they prove me wrong this time! I wonder what percentage of unlimited data plan users, that have tethering as part of their plan, actually utilize it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Would you accept ads on your phone in return for a lower monthly bill?
bipbapbam replied to JimBob's topic in General Topics
Every time you unlock your phone? I personally unlock my phone tens of times each day. Probably over 100 on some days. Heck maybe even more, not like I count. That could be a lot of ad revenue for them and a lot of annoyance for me. I already pay to get rid of ads. I'll keep paying what I'm already paying rather than volunteer that annoyance on myself. -
Stafford, VA checking in (just above Fredericksburg). I am not looking forward to this snow storm at all. My back hurts just thinking about shoveling. Calling for 14"-28" of snow..

2 year subsidy phone upgrades early warning info
bipbapbam replied to dkyeager's topic in General Topics
Yeah, Best Buy can't be beat when it comes to the deals they have on subsidized devices. Hopefully they keep them going for us for a bit longer. I feel like it's a slap in the face to take away subsidies from loyal customers, especially since the price of the subsidy was built into the plan to begin with. -
802.11ah in 900 MHz HaLow Wi-Fi Advancements
bipbapbam replied to Ascertion's topic in General Topics
I can't think of anything in my house that uses 900mhz right now. This would be good for where I live right now because we have a fairly large house that our router has a hard time penetrating through all the walls. That and the next door neighbor is a couple acres away, so we shouldn't too much interference on that front. Now, my girlfriend living in the city of Richmond, VA is another story. I'm kind of exited to see how this plays out. I know baby monitors use 900mhz, but what else does exactly? I can't even think of much. -
What is most important in your next phone purchase?
bipbapbam replied to Ascertion's topic in General Topics
Those damn cobtracts get you every time. -
I think this is probably the best bet. And on that note, is it possible to transfer an upgrade to another line on your account? And if so, how would you go about doing that?
-
Yeah, it's not super easy for Best Buy to add a new line to ED for some reason. I just recently added a 5th line and the lady at Best Buy had to start a new My Way plan to get me the line and the promotion, then she had to call up sprint to get them to transfer the line over to my ED plan.

I believe that was just for the 3G network as it didn't run on the 700mhz C block spectrum. Though I'm fairly certain they ended that practice. You should experience no throttling on Verizon now.
-
I thought that Sprint had short term plans to aggregate the band 25 uplink with band 41 downlink so that they could turn up the power on band 41 to get a further reach. Why wouldn't that be a good plan for B41+B25?
-
I think it's interesting how data plan selections go from minuscule amounts and then suddenly "BOOM! UNLIMITED BABY!" For like another 10 to 15 bucks on top of the highest minuscule tiered data option. So you have your 8 gigabyte plan and then unlimited. But I guess that's because they don't expect people to actually use that "unlimited data". Most people with unlimited probably don't use more than 10-15 gigs in a single month at most.

Proof that speedtest apps congest the network
bipbapbam replied to Camcroz's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
I don't see anything wrong with running a speedtest to see what's going on when your phone's performance drops dramatically. You never know if it could be unrelated to the actual internet speed or not. Could be anything to do with your phone reducing the performance. I think it's fine if you're just running one single test. So long as you're not running tests constantly, it shouldn't really be affecting the network that much, considering they only last a few seconds.
