  1. I know. For many however, the price and service will be just what they need... and there will be overlap. And the best thing to do is reform the permitting process to enable this competition to happen sooner.
  2. Vote.... or Run. Support people that want to improve and expedite the permitting process for Cell Sites. 5G Fixed Wireless will happen.... and sooner with supportive office holders.
  3. Actions can be taken at the local level to improve competition in those markets.
  4. A couple pieces for your consideration: http://pinetreepolitics.bangordailynews.com/2017/11/29/relax-your-internet-will-be-just-fine/ https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/industry-voices-gillott-time-to-take-a-breath-and-chill-about-net-neutrality Sprint offers HD Video with Unlimited Freedom at 1080P. And if you want to, now you can pay $10/Month per line for Ultra HD Video. We all remember when Unlimited Freedom was rolled out with Mobile Optimized Video and it was a $20/Month Add-On for HD Video per line. There was competition from other carriers with better plan pricing/features, and Sprint responded by including HD Video for free and matching the 10 GB Hotspot offered. I don’t see this being any different. The FTC’s job is to ensure there’s enough competition for that to happen.
  5. The Internet grew like hell before the last 2 years of “Net Neutrality” was enacted. Why would the future now be any different? If anything, the Internet will innovate through this line anything else.
  6. You don’t think the FTC is capable of handling this well?
  7. A little levity (and some truth) here. The Internet was fine before these rules. It’ll be fine after these rules are repealed. The FTC will take over to ensure fair competition. https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases/2017/12/statement-acting-ftc-chairman-maureen-k-ohlhausen-fccs-approval
  8. Apparently the “Un-carrier Architect” has left T-Mobile for “undisclosed” reasons: https://www.geekwire.com/2017/internal-email-t-mobile-commercial-chief-uncarrier-architect-leaves-undisclosed-reasons/ Pushed out the door?
  9. https://twitter.com/guengott68/status/940957687696838659 It’s a shame Günther is leaving. Hopefully Dr. Saw hops on Twitter and takes the role of being a strong advocate for Sprint’s technology.
  10. iOS 11.2.1 was just released: https://9to5mac.com/2017/12/13/ios-11-2-1-homekit-sharing/
  11. Still have to get a wireline from cable or telco to put on a TV... unless you use your device as a hotspot. I can see this as an end run around traditional cable/telco wireline if T-Mobile does fixed wireless with 5G. That’s something Sprint would do pretty well with its 2.5 GHz spectrum. Any reason for SoftBank/Sprint to make a pitch for Dish?
  12. Didn’t see this coming from T-Mobile: https://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news-and-blogs/tmobile-uncarrier-tv.htm I wonder how much Hulu would go for.
  13. https://community.sprint.com/t5/iPhone/Wifi-Calling-IOS-11-2/m-p/986894/highlight/true#M896 Sounds like a backend capacity issue based on this post and subsequent posts in the thread.
  14. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201270 Many iOS Devices are having WiFi Calling issues since updating to iOS 11.2 and Carrier 31.0 This Update is Carrier 31.1, so it’s likely a fix for this issue.
  15. Sprint just dropped Carrier Update 31.1 for iOS. Hopefully it fixes the WiFi Calling Issue.
  16. This WiFi Calling Issue is a real thing. It’s affecting me and another line as well... and perhaps others on our plan. https://www.macrumors.com/2017/12/11/sprint-wifi-calling-not-working-ios-11-2/ https://community.sprint.com/t5/iPhone/Wifi-Calling-IOS-11-2/m-p/986133/highlight/true#M795 I’ll bet we get an updated Carrier Bundle very soon to rollback some changes they made.
  17. Apple’s product design cycle is pretty long. The design of the iPhone X was locked down in November 2016... http://mashable.com/2017/10/31/how-apple-built-the-iphone-x/#zDYeeFFzCSq3 “As far as last-minute design changes? Actually, we didn’t have time for it,” said Riccio, who seemed energized by the memory of that intense development period. “Quite frankly, this program was on such a fast track to be offered [and] enabled this year. We had to lock [the design] very, very early. We actually locked the design, to let you know, in November,” said Riccio before he was cut off by Apple PR. Riccio appeared to realize he’d said maybe too much, and then reaffirmed with a smile, “We had to lock it early.” and it was released in November 2017. So, given the amount of new features in the iPhone X, perhaps HPUE was seen as a stretch. (This also means that next years’s Devices are likely already locked down.) Apple needs sufficient component availability to be able to deliver millions of devices at the margins it wants to. So, it purposefully lags behind others while it waits for enough components it wants to be available at the pricing it wants.
  18. Here’s the transcript from Tarek’s talk yesterday: http://www.seekingalpha.com/article/4130568 Some typos in there but gives a good overall sense. Otherwise, you can re-stream it: https://cc.talkpoint.com/barc002/120617b_as/?entity=57_TOKIY46 Glad to see that other cable partner discussions are happening. I would love to see one with RCN for DC.
  19. Apparently a backend fix was implemented last night to resolve this issue. Should be working properly now.
  20. https://www.mobilesportsreport.com/2017/12/verizon-u-s-bank-stadium-das-already-seeing-more-traffic-than-super-bowl-51/ Great write up on the DAS Build.
