  1. Guess it hasn't caught on yet: https://softbankrobotics.com/us/pepper 😎
  2. Uber is going down in flames. WeWork is likely a larger write-off than Nextel was for Sprint. SoftBank is along for the ride. Should have put the money in Sprint, Masa.
  3. Me too. I can't imagine a more incompetent parent company than SoftBank at this point.
  4. SoftBank could have turned Sprint into a successful wireless giant, or at least it could have been the majority shareholder had a merger occurred. Instead SoftBank chose to cheap out on everything for Sprint and let it languish and flounder while it dumped its financial resources/capital into Uber and WeWork.... and so here we are. You deserve this Masa/Marcelo. You both deserve it.
  5. I’m so sorry this is happening to you Masa/Marcelo.
  6. Difference is that T-Mobile under-promises and over-delivers. That's something we're not used to having with Sprint. Sprint's Triband build-out was still not dense or expansive enough to be competitive.
  7. T-Mobile lays out $60B, five-year buildout plan for 5G Great background. The sheer amount of Capex here is impressive. I got so used to seeing drips and dribbles from Sprint over the years. It was really sad. Some more background here: There's no slowdown in sight for T-Mobile's industry-leading 5G expansion efforts
  8. You're absolutely right that Sprint couldn't get ahead of its reputation. It never had enough capex to turn the corner. It's crazy to see T-Mobile swoop in with the deep pockets and all the market goodwill it has. I think we're beginning to appreciate all the unrealized potential of Sprint's assets. I'm curious how 600 MHz will perform as well. T-Mobile's lowband holdings have the potential to make it on par with Verizon and AT&T in terms of national coverage and in-building penetration. Also, Sprint's network assets are going from the back of the curve to the leading edge of it. It's pretty remarkable, but sad, to see. Sounds like they're getting better at lighting up 600 MHz sites.
  9. I don't have experience with Shentel areas, but from looking at their earnings reports, they seemed very capable at deploying a network. I agree with you: Sprint didn't invest enough in site density and placement. Going forward, 600 MHz will play a substantial role in rural coverage. This is something Sprint's (and T-Mobile's) prior spectrum holdings could have never accomplished on their own.
  10. All depends on what kind of agreements the "National Development" Group can reach: https://howmobileworks.com More specifically: https://howmobileworks.com/das-site/ Submit a site: https://howmobileworks.com/submit-a-site/
  11. I hope so as well. However, I think its 600 MHz spectrum could have better indoor propagation for coverage. Of course, many of these box stores are essentially a Faraday cage, so as you said, small cells or a DAS could really help. Unike Sprint under Marcelo and Masa's tenure, T-Mobile will actually put meaningful capex into the network going forward.
  12. Yup, the money never came. Even so, I don't think Sprint had enough lowband spectrum to effectively complete as a national carrier with strong indoor or rural coverage. Its 800 MHz just wasn't enough and Sprint didn't have enough sites or site density either. You're absolutely right. I don't think Sprint half-assed it though. I feel tike it quarter-assed it.
  13. I'm sure it did an after-action on the S20 process and will have smoother rollouts in the future as additional "combined" 5G sites come online. They'll have to keep this site upgrade/migration process rolling throughout the Spring/Summer/Fall as it's very possible that 5G iPhones could be activated directly on T-Mobile's network, and bypass Sprint's 5G network completely. In fact, I think that T-Mobile will make it a priority to wind down Sprint's 5G network and launch its own 5G in those cities for that reason.
  14. Sprint and T-Mobile: 1H 2020 results point to a promising future More interesting reading.
  15. T-Mobile boasts 2.5 GHz momentum right out of the gate Nice write-up of Neville's comments.
  16. New T-Mobile is going to be a force to be reckoned with going forward. I don't think Verizon and AT&T realize it yet.
  17. Yup. Throw in a good dash of proper capex and management as well.
