  1. Currently roaming on 1X in southwest Virginia approaching the Kentucky border. CellularInfo says channel 242. Was hoping for 3G... Sent from my iPhone 6 Plus
  2. Hm. Maybe we should compare one of those custom carrier bundles to the official one and see what the changes are. I'll hopefully be able to do that tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone 6 Plus
  3. I was just looking into what could have happened. No idea where that white screen came from- sounds like a very old version of the app. Anyway, glad to hear it's working now! Sent from my iPhone 6 Plus
  4. Carrier bundles have been signed since iOS 3.1. Any changes would break the signature and iOS wouldn't accept it. Sent from my iPhone 6 Plus
  5. Completely slipped my mind. Just got it up: add "http://nahum365.github.io" to your Cydia sources.
  6. What's the issue? I didn't have any issue. Sent from my iPhone 6 Plus
  7. Same here- I bought a used Nexus 5 recently and was planning on using it on AT&T as a hotspot during my week-long trip to a pretty small town in Kentucky. I re-checked the coverage map earlier today and to my surprise- 3G coverage! Even USCC doesn't have native service in this area.. possibly Appalachian Wireless? I guess I'll find out next week. 8. I'm seeing new roaming coverage in East Kentucky (specifically Harlan County). It's even shown as 3G! What carrier could this possibly be? I know Verizon has no good coverage in the area. EDIT: Oops, just saw AJ's post about this in another thread. Sorry.
  9. I might have just figured out a way to downgrade carrier bundles. 1.) download this file: http://nahum365.github.io/Sprint_CSIM_LTE_US_iPhone.ipcc 2.) enable carrier testing in iTunes On Windows: Open iTunes via Command Prompt with this command- %ProgramFiles%\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1 On OS X: Quit iTunes then run this command in Terminal- defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool YES 3.) Plug your device in and while holding shift (Windows) or option (Mac) press Check for Update or Restore. When the dialog comes up, choose IPCC you just downloaded. You should then be on 19.1.
  10. Looks like myrepospace got hacked. That's unfortunate. I'll get my own repo up on Github Pages as soon as I get home. Sorry. I see that about 15 of you guys have been able to download it though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Unfortunately no, iOS refuses to load it. Just wanted to get something up before I went away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. It took almost 3 years but the absolutely terrible cell site at the intersection of Rt 40 and Rolling Road has finally received LTE. Went from .02Mbps yesterday to 17Mbps this afternoon. Now THAT'S #gettingbettereveryday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Rushed and threw this up on myrepospace because I'm about to go away for a bit and won't have access to my computer for a while. Add this repo: http://cydia.myrepospace.com/cellularinfo/ It should be the only package available.
  14. Some good news. planetbeing never replied, but I've gotten CellularInfo to work on my own on jailbroken 8.4 with some fake code signing and entitlement magic. The app is working perfectly. I can't say the same for the widget though. iOS (even jailbroken) doesn't seem to accept the unsigned widget executable. I tried signing it with my developer certificate but I can't include the necessary app entitlement while legitimately signing the app. I'll look into it more, but for now I'll try to get it on a repo in the next week or so.
  15. Good call by Sprint. Last year there was essentially no service in and around Brooklyn bridge Park during the fireworks. Even afterwards when I was trying to pull up a subway map to find another station & avoid the crowds, still couldn't do anything. Does anyone know if this COW has B41? Because I'm sure b25 & b26 won't cut it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. There's actually a Sprint logo on the truck in the lower left of the picture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I contacted planetbeing (developer of Signal and Signal 2) to see if he has any advice, no response so far. His app is broken on 8.3 too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Baltimore RootMetrics report is out. Sprint still in last unfortunately but the results do look accurate. Median download actually decreased from 9Mbps when they tested in Janurary to 8.3Mbps now. http://www.rootmetrics.com/us/rsr/baltimore-md/2015/1H Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. This is puzzling. No error message in the device console but CellularInfo isn't getting any info either. I'll continue trying to figure it out tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. My power went out right as I was getting ready to try it on my iPad. Very unfortunate timing to say the least. EDIT: It's back! Updating and jailbreaking the iPad now.
  21. You'll be fine until the beta expires, and that's quite a while from now. The betas only check the device's developer status when you first update and activate (and apparently in the iOS 9 beta it doesn't even do that).
  22. I can get the number of bars from the public part of CoreTelephony, not the actual dbm signal strength. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Tried it out already. The only way to get around the restrictions is by running the app as root, which is only possible with a jailbreak. Hopefully there'll be a jailbreak released with 8.4 on the 30th. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Nope. It's an internal app, I doubt it'll ever be updated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
