  1. From what I was told this appears to the the equipment sprint is installing there .. 7256d65d0b5c27e30be8492daa465537.jpg
It is a longer panel like the one in this pic.. sprint has this up currently while they are co locating in this area.. this area is has been a complete dead spot for sprint for years

If it is sprint will not be dead zone anymore

  2. Am I the only one that feels like these maps are a huge letdown? Sprint holds the spectrum advantage with their EBS/BRS spectrum. They have the ability blanket most markets with wideband 5G. Yet they aren't. Why? Why not go scorched Earth on their competitors and widely deploy 5G? That DFW map is a joke.

What do you mean? They are doing 3 B41 carriers on 5G. 5G is new and just getting started I'm not sure how you can say anything about coverage this early.

  3. Ported back to sprint yesterday. TMO was just to slow and getting slower (very large market share). After further optimization more band 41 going live sprint is getting faster and faster. Also, no volte live yet the I phone has the option, but the network is not making use of it yet here In El Paso. No band 26 as of yet.

Band 41 really does help them in the speed department. Now if only they could improve upload speeds so people could get something around 40 up. 2xca and 64 qam should help just doesn't look like 64 qam is on upload

  4. So where does it say the test was limited to 64 QAM? 256 QAM is live on 4G but not in these 5G tests seems strange? Also it is 112.5 Mbps not 100Mbps for 64 qam.

Not with the current configuration Sprint has in place on TDD. More of the bw is on download so it's 100 Mbps.  I also never said the test was 64 qam, that's why bandwidth was originally at. I'm also not sure where your getting the 112 from? When they first did B41 it was 80 down 17 up. Then they changed the configuration to 100 down 9 up

  5. Then what is the max speed of B41 don't forget the increase from qam.  Qam is not an exact science it pushes symbol rate until failure based on signal strength

2x2 Mimo with, 64 qam is 100 Mbps per carrier so 300 for the 3 that are online. Higher qam and Mimo increases that. 256 qam and 4x4 Mimo is gigabit LTE

  6. 421 Mbps doesn't say real 5G either. It just looks like there is no one else using it. 2x2 MIMO with 20 MHz is 150 Mbps then times that by 3 for 60 Mhz so the max for lte would be 450 Mbps. The 30 Mbps lost could be qam bouncing. It does not show so any magic 5g yet it just shows there is unused spectrum left to use.
That's on FDD to get 150 Mbps. B41 is TDD. This is just testing

  7. You and me both. I have the G7 and waiting on it is very frustrating

I have the unlocked model. When VOLTE is up on all devices I would like to see them one up att and do it unlocked phones where att drops to H+ on calls on unlocked phones. Tho with att 3G shutdown in 2022 they will have to change that. Volte did pop up on my S9 one time and it worked. Then it when away and never came back

  8. OnePlus doesn't sell enough devices to even be a factor. Apple and Samsung together own over two thirds of the U.S. smartphone market. In the high end market, they probably make up 90% of it in the U.S. People will always want to buy their devices and Sprint will literally drop every other OEM before they drop Samsung or Apple.

Luckily with Sprint moving to VoLTE, that opens the door for non-CDMA phones to work on their network. I just wish the rollout of VoLTE was slightly faster.

Yeah I know volte will help however they still relie on CDMA to much. I'm getting impatient waiting for Volte on my s9+. Had it on my S8 and it worked fine. Not sure what the hold up is.

  9. It's exactly why Sprint and T-Mobile should merge. The size of their Capex individually cannot compete, together at least they are in the ball park.
Also remember that Sprint let their Capex lapse and lag for a number of years. It has only picked up lately.
Plus Sprint could be in trouble with the high cost of Samsung and apple devices if people start switching to cheaper one plus devices that don't work on Sprint. I'm done with Samsung over their prices.
