He is talking about 5G which can go faster than gigabitThey actually don't need to add more spectrum, it's more about backhaul at this point. 3xCA B41 with 4x4MIMO and 256QAM is considered gigabit class.

I'm thinking about just using att when I goThat's what I figured. Going North of Duluth service is hit and miss. Two Harbors is one place I went last year and that was spotty service.

.
Might be T-Mobile roaming now though.

Coverage map doesn't show that tho
Might be T-Mobile roaming now though.

I hope not. They need all the spectrum. Tmobile is getting a congested network now. If they have to give some up how will he network handle Sprint Customers on it?Sprint & T-Mobile will not be divesting any spectrum, not when Dish has plenty of spectrum. As I explained before Dish can be an MVNO of Sprint/T-Mobile and Sprint-Tmobile can host Dish's 600Mhz and AWS-3 holding right away. While they're at it they can also host Comcast's 600Mhz.

Yeah but doesn't sound like that area does. Once you get even more north Sprint loses coverage and starts VZW roaming
But think of how many towers have b41 now. Might be different. [emoji6]

If it's only a software update then Sprint WTF. Sprint still has improves to make. I'm going on vacation in a couple of weeks to northern Minnesota and Sprint is terrible there. Barely has B41. Last year when I was there uploading pics would fail. Not dealing with that this year. Lol Sent from my SM-G965U1 using TapatalkThey need to hop to it. The network has been capable of all of this via software updates for years and they just sat on it.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah I don't get why Sprint has not done FDD+TDD by now. They still continue to get dissed for they terrible upload. The 4G network must be really congested or bad backhaul.Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk

I still think that 5G will work better by combining with TMO. That way all 2.5 can be used along with B71. Then in the future when everyone gets 5G devices reframe B25 to 5GThey can eventually dynamically allocate spectrum from LTE to 5G. So not really a big concern. If I can enjoy 100mbs+ speeds as an early adopter (vs 5-10mb on LTE) I'll take it.

They will have to at some point. That's the plan under new Tmobile. Not sure how Sprint is going to do it on there own
The speeds we are seeing are with hardly any phones on the 5G network.. once more phones got on to the network... mmmmm [emoji848], just throwing that out there.. I just hope the total of 120mhz will be used as stated by John that 5G phone can makes use of all the spectrum

If the Merger fails they should buy Sprinthttps://www.reuters.com/article/us-sprint-corp-m-a-t-mobile-amazon-com-e/exclusive-amazon-interested-in-buying-boost-from-t-mobile-sprint-sources-idUSKCN1T02OV?il=0
Amazon wants to buy boots and some spectrum. The irony is, they should have bought the whole company from the get-go.

Think there would be a better chance of PCS. If the Merger fails I wish they could then just share spectrumThey'll never give up band 71. Not a chance.

That's why If the DOJ fails the Merger then they should have to be on the hook to help Sprint outSprint doesn't have the cash to do anything with additional spectrum on their own. They can barely use what they have now let alone fix the backhaul issues.Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk

Dude come on you know that's a false claim. Sprint hits faster DL speed than thatWhy would Sprint want to show off how awful their LTE network is in actual use? Having 1 network run at 3 Mbps which 99.99% of your customers use seems pretty embarrassing to me.

The AWS would have done them some good. If Sprint had vzws pocket book I think the would have gone in on the last two spectrum auctionsDish doesn't have much low band, I believe. They do have some 600Mhz. But the bulk of their spectrum is in AWS and PCS H block as well as some satellite bands converted for terrestrial use

Plus other spectrum would allow them to use more B41 on 5G and maybe another band to use on 5GThey lack low band spectrum which is important when scaling up coverage.

I don't agree. They could have used it in the past for LTE allowing more B41 for 5GSprint have enough spectrum but not enough cash.

If the merger fails Sprint should be allowed to have it. Could use the added BWI do hope FCC is going to enforced the deadline and hand the spectrum to whoever really want to be a carrier. I doubts the current FCC will do that.

To bad we didn't get to see the upload and that ping is to high for 5G.Initial 5G Impressions by Tom’s Guide: https://www.tomsguide.com/us/sprint-5g-speed-test,news-30208.html

Upload and coverage is why I support the Merger. TMO has the available BW for great uploadsI hope pcmag bas great results in their testing. The upload...well...
