  1. This does suck, but this is the reason Sprint should conduct press releases/interviews. Sprint can then slant the news to its liking and even inform others when it should end which is what people in affected areas want to know. I'm in the nuclear business though so it is common to keep the public well informed to mitigate horrible /incorrect reporting.

  2. That's odd that you can't hold onto a weaker signal. I routinely hold all the way to -126 before it drops off a few moments later to eHRPD. I get very useable service at that level, too. I do agree that the scan time needs improvement. It takes too long before deciding to try searching out an LTE signal.

LTE Discovery app can help with this. Once your market gets covered though this should become a non-issue as your phone will stay on 4g.

  3. I have the Mini as a work phone, and I'm impressed. The size is actually perfect when you think about the folks who are coming from iPhones. The Mini is almost the same physical size as iPhone 5.

Did you ever find the B41 you set out to find? You have us all in anticipation mode.

  4. The Sprint site is showing all of OC/LA covered in Spark. I highly doubt that considering WiMax was never fully deployed resulting in several holes and it is B41.

That surprised me too. If you had asked, I would have even said that southern OC never had a lick of wimax. I also remember checking the clear website a couple months ago and it didn't show wimax in many areas. Did sprint get busy after buying the rest of clear or did they just drink the kool-aid because I want some of that.

  5. http://www.tmonews.com/2013/11/how-long-until-t-mobile-is-3/

The homeboys at that site believe they will overtake Sprint soon. Regardless I believe Sprint needs to buy U.S cellular to improve coverage in certain areas.

Although I do think Tmobile is making a lot of the right moves.... I truly believe Sprint has something special going on. I listen to the people around me on AT&T and other carriers and I have more signal than they have. Also, I am finally noticing that although a partially complete 4g area is even more frustrating than a 3g only area, once Sprint upgrades enough towers, there is a significant upgrade in speeds and service.

  6. May take longer than we originally thought. Seems like the international version is no longer updating to 4.3 and the update may have been pulled due to various bugs and poor battery life. So sprint might be holding off too.

Here is one link (out of many) that are now reporting on the issue:

  7. thanks for all the replys !! yeah i was hearing some issues with tribanddevices so i decided to stay away and if it came to my town i would just pay full price if i had to later on.

right now i dont like the s3 myself, i dont know why the samsung keyboard does not auto correct arrrggg. i was looking at the g2 myself for the better battery life and such seems to be a good phone except the external storage thing is kinda bothering me but i guess i can stream with unlimited data :P.

has any body had any real issues with billing? or are the bills usually pretty good? i get a 18% discount from work so should help a good bit.

thanks again guys for all the help

You may want to try SwiftKey. :-)

  8. I took a look at the n5 today and the screen seems very washed out. I compared it to the lg g2 and it just looks dull. Reminds me of the evo 3d I'm unfortunately using since my s4 is bricked.

I just checked out Best Buy and they didn't have a Nexus 5 on demo. Does anyone know where I can find a demo (ex: in the sprint store)?

  9. Care to share some? I'm coming from an EVO LTE too and really liked Sense lol.

I had that issue when I initially made the jump from the EVO to the Galaxy s3. Here are the replacements I use:

Beautiful widgets for clock and weather

    Smooth Calendar for agenda/calendar

Mknistocks and sigfig for stocks and investments

    Happy hunting!

  10. What you are seeing is just a capacity issue.

I agree... Probably just a capacity issue and not an alien spaceship or the most common and popular phone playing tricks on Sprint in Chicago. Here is what I was receiving in a portion of LA today in a very over populated area with an event going on:

  11. When the new hangouts app came out with SCE support, I decided to try and disable Google voice and let me say, the call quality is night and day better without Google voice. For others that have horrible call quality, maybe it's Google to blame vice sprint. My hate of Google grows with every new thing they touch (Reference Google maps)

Stupid autocorrect. I meant to say SMS support. And the reason Google Voice is important is because the new hangouts app SMS support doesn't support Google voice numbers until next year. The important point though is that Google voice kills voice quality

  13. I just compared Sprints advertised coverage vs what Sensorly reports and wow. Talk about being overly generous about what you cover...I feel like at this point there is no point to complain because it is a known fact they market isn't "complete".

I recently performed a Sprint versus t-mobile comparison and believe me when I say that Tmobile was much more generous with what it said it covered. Sprint at least acknowledges that they only have for 4g signal in a bunch of places. If it indicates fair, just figure there won't be 4g coverage. If Tmobile indicates excellent coverage, just figure that what you get will be randomness between 2g and LTE

  14. Don't know if this was answered but why is it going to take up to 3 years to deploy spark to the top 100 markets/cities?

    Feel that's pretty long lol

I thought that was weird too. I thought backhaul was the long leg of the process and that Sprint would at least match the T-Mobile rollout speed and have all areas in less than a year. Some people in the forums say that Spark is different than Sprint enabling the 2500 frequency which is why Denver, which is covered in 2500, is not a Spark launch city.
