  1. Keep checking for LTE! I usually do my normal check every morning when i wake up. Havent found LTE yet, but my 3G speeds have been increasing more and more over the months. Im hoping to get LTE service soon. I feel bad for my wifi.. Ive used at least 3GB of data in a day on wifi. No wonder why i decided to go to sprint, because they have unlimited data!
  2. eHRPD is software based i believe. Its deployed to clusters of sites at a given time to allow a smooth, quick transition from 3G to LTE. The only difference you may notice is a lower ping. Speeds should remain the same unless NV upgrades begin on the sites that you are connected to.
  3. Im sure yall wil get a laugh out of this one..
  4. I will take a roadtrip to cranberry and see what i can find out lol
  5. Just did this speed test in Meridian, PA. A new tower was just put up here.
  6. I am still fairly new to this and i know this is a stupid question to ask.. What exactly is a migration? I think i have an idea but im not sure if im correct or not.
  7. Ive never been there. And I live in Butler.. I need to get out more here lol
  8. Good approach sprint has been making to their upgrades. I will be watching for any activity or faster speeds here. Will post anything new i find out.
  9. I found coordinates by downloading an app called "LTE Setting" off of google play. It opens up a secret phone menu actually. After that, tap phone settings and scroll down. It will show you coordinates with many other details about the connected cell tower. ( This is seperate from the Qpst screen)
  10. I couldnt help but laughing a little bit when sprint said some of their network vision/LTE deployment was being slowed down by, and i quote "Birds".... Although, its more complicated than that. Red birds are angry at the faster yellow birds for taking up the tower space. The red birds want their space on the tower. So what happens? Birds are flung at each other. Towers are destroyed, and the precious LTE equipment has been shat appon by the "Angry LTE hungry birds" who, once again, slow down the completion of tower upgrades..... Now if sprint told a story like this, then id definetely be more entertained.. None of this makes sense, i have not a clue why i spent 15 minutes in programming class typing up this insane made-up story. But it sure makes my life more entertaining thinking about something funny sprint could of said besides just "birds"
  11. Couldn`t agree more I`ve done numerous speedtests here in the Butler area, and the fastest speeds are usually on the intersection of Duffy Road, near the VA hospital. Usually get over 1 Mbps on the downlink there. Everywhere else, pretty slow. My question though is when sprint deploys LTE in Pittsburgh, PA, are they eventually going to deploy it up here in Butler?
  12. This issue i have had with my galaxy nexus, but it is a simpe setting problem that can be fixed by entering the ##DATA#, or on newer versions of android, or certain phones, its *#*#DATA#*#*. After you have your MSL code, go into advanced settings(on phones with jellybean 4.1.2 or higher, it should be under the "others/more tab), and look for eHRPD. Once entered, it should have an option to turn it on or off. When i first had this problem, eHRPD setting was off in the ##DATA# menu, which beats me because at times it turns itself back off again. With your one phone that does not connect to eHRPD, i would try this and it should fix the problem. MSL code can be found by downloading aLogcat from google. Then once the application is open, exit out of the application, and open the dialer. Then enter ##DATA, or *#*#DATA#*#* (Whichever one works) and then once that is done, hit view. Then exit out of the DATA menu, and go back to the aLogcat application. Hit menu, then filters. Once a search box comes up, type MSL into the search box, and press okay. Then read the log until you see a string of text that should be labeled with"I/EpstBroadcastReciever" (should be green in color) . Then look until you see 'MSL Code ="". With that code you can change the Qpst menu settings to turn eHRPD on, if it happens to be off.
  13. I am running a custom rom, so that could be the reason for the screen turning on and off. To the other replies, i have not checked the battery terminals for corrosion yet, so i will do that as soon as i can. Will rubbing alcohol do to clean them if they are corroded?
  14. Hey y`all! Recently ive noticed i have been having a new problem with my phone. When the phone is on the charger, everything works fine. It`s when the phone is off the charger that i have problems. Often my phone will say its still charging even when its not even connected to a charger. The screen wakes up from lock mode often due to the device constantly saying its charging/discharging. Its quite irritating to have this issue, due to the fact that im lucky if i get any more than 3 hours of standby because of the screen being turned on by the constant charging/discharging issue. Anyone know what could be the cause of this?
  15. Recently ive noticed a drop in speeds. At my school, where verizon`s 3G is so slow, it doenst even work, i am usually connected to CDMA-eHRPD:14. Ping is usually lower than 110 M.S but the download speeds rarely go above 0.50 Mbps when they use to go over 1 Mbps earlier when i first saw eHRPD in my area
  16. My friend has cricket. Data speeds.... I heard crickets. Question answered
  17. I think for the most part that sprint has been doing quite a good job at deploying LTE across the nation. Maybe not the fastest deployment Ive seen, but for a carrier who had the first "4G" network in the U.S(WIMAX), which really set sprint back a few steps, since LTE was being adopted by other carriers and WIMAX didnt seem like it could compete, and even after the whole WIMAX mess, sprint got back up and picked up momentum once again with their new LTE network. Give them time, and im sure you wont be dissappointed in what sprint does within the next year.
  18. This being one of the best speeds ive found yet lurking on the web
  19. Figured id start us off with a screenshot that i got from one of the guys at macrumors.com. Not bad
  20. So I was browsing the forums and I did not see a thread that kept track of the LTE speeds people were getting. Id post an LTE speedtest if I got it in my area, but sadly I do not. So post away guys, and lets see just how fast sprint is becoming!
  21. Sprint has been doing fine with getting network vision sites up and running. Even some early speed upgrades on towers in my area(Checked network.sprint.com) to see that four towers in my area have gotten speed upgrades in the past six months, some recently being completed. The shentel region also seems to be picking up steam with LTE deployment.
