  1. Its still pretty spotty as of now. As robert said, eventually, the entire sprint network will have eHRPD. But it does really depend on network venders. Alcatel lucent seems to be the quickest vendor to deploy LTE, or well thats my opinion at least. Sent from my LG-LS840 using Forum Runner
  2. It doesn't give me any data connection. Very weird lol Sent from my LG-LS840 using Forum Runner
  3. Tried cycling from CDMA mode to CDMA/LTE mode but the instant it connects to eHRPD Sent from my LG-LS840 using Forum Runner
  4. For some reason, I'm not able to connect to eHRPD anymore Sent from my LG-LS840 using Forum Runner
  5. More on the lines with groups of sites at a time Sent from my LG-LS840 using Forum Runner
  6. Sorry guys, still new to the forums here. I'm sure i will learn how to post and comment on these within time. I just wanted to test my knowledge to see what i know and what i need to work on. Some towers aren't NV updated yet so that's why data speeds may be slow, even with eHRPD Sent from my LG-LS840 using Forum Runner
  7. Exactly. Once network vision is complete, and data speeds become faster, the network will be accessed by more users. Then that's when eHRPD will come into play. If LTE gets installed first, then the traffic will be divided by the CDMA network and the LTE network. Then eHRPD will just allow the transition between CDMA and LTE to be seamless
  8. Well good thing that issue is no longer present. I want me some LTE!!!
  9. Also, the benifit of eHRPD for now is that towers that have this technology acive, data traffic can be better managed. The only downfall to this is you have to have an LTE capable device to access eHRPD. Just to make myself clear, eHRPD is NOT another network, only a sub-division to the EVDO network.
  10. As sprint stated during the beginning stages of their LTE deployment, : Our 4G network is expected to cover the majority of our nationwide 3G footprint". Id say depending on your area, most of us WILL get 4G coverage. It just depends on how quickly network venders can install LTE equipment. Well, according to sprints latest excuse, there appears to be quote "Endangered birds" living in their towers. That was the first time ive heard of that happening before lmao
  11. My thought on this is that almsot everywhere where eHRPD is being activated, LTE will be coming. As robert said, doesnt mean a real ETA time for LTE arrival, but it does mean that LTE will be there eventually. Enjoy guys!!
  12. I agree, the ICS update does miracles for such an eco-friendly device. For 49.99, this phones definetely worth the money! Lets just hope sprint kicks things into high gear so we can get out of the post primitive era of dial-up like 3G speeds. lol
  13. Been checking my phone lately and i found that it was connecting to CDMA eHRPD. For all of you that are new to this, eHRPD is used generally on CDMA carriers to allow a smooth transition from EVDO to LTE technologies. Im starting this topic to see how many of you guys out there have access to eHRPD. Also, when using eHRPD, instead of the data at the tower going through the CDMA switchboard, it goes through the LTE core instead. Maybe not much of a noticable speed increase, but eHRPD may be faster when the CDMA switchboard is reaching full capacity. Anyways, if anyone ever has any questions related to this, comment on this post or send me a message. I have an acceptable level of knowledge with networking and infastructures. Everyone else, post here if you do have access to an eHRPD enabled cell site. This can be checked by going to settings, about phone, then look for the network status option where from there, it will tell you the signal strength in dBm, the ASU, and the network type.
  14. Just to let you guys know, there seems to be a semi big glitch in the software update to the phone. It seems when i first installed ICS on my viper, ive got faster boot times, but whatever any of you do, do NOT enable "Force 2D GPU rendering" in the developer options. When i did that, my phone would not boot past the 4G LTE logo, and i had to do a hard reset to get my phone to boot again.. Im guessing its just a feature that wasnt meant to be used on this phone, so users BEWARE of the dreaded bootloop. Anyone else have this problem?
  15. Dont we all remember the days of dial-up? The only difference now is the phones on sprints 3G network dont make the annoying connection sound lol
  16. It was a much needed update! The phone runs much more smoothly than it did with 2.3 Gingerbread. My day = Made.. lol
  17. Well, i thought i would brake the news to anyone who owns a lg Viper. The official ICS update has been released via OTA update. So anyone out there who wants the treat of a lifetime, check for a system update and there ya go!! Heres a link to proove my statement lol. http://www.mobilebloom.com/sprint-lg-viper-finally-gets-upgraded-to-android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich/2224031/
  18. The viper has officially been upgraded to 4.0.4. I got the update last night and its amazing!! Check for system updates, and you should find yourself a delicious suprise!
  19. Hey everyone! Im curious as to when Pittsburgh, PA will get LTE service, anyone know when this area is suppost to get it?
