    Nexus 7

So here you go, some pics of the nexus 7 The box Getting excited for this Simple elegance Much like its little brother The back is slightly rubbery and feels good in the hand Compared to the Galaxy Nexus It runs S4GRU The bezel isn't as bad as some make it seem Power and volume are on the same side. Makes for interesting screenshots MicroUSB and headphone jack are on the bottom USB OTG is present but needs root to be able to access USB files. It supports external hard drives and thumbdrives. Lock screen is exactly like the GNex Jelly Bean lock screen Lots of preloaded content for free to go with the $25 free that showed up minutes after logging in for the first time. About 5GB for the user on an 8GB tablet So far I am loving it. I gotta get cracking on unlocking and rooting so I can test out some USB OTG.

    Nexus 7

Bought this case today http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008IEGSGU/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 ships on the 20th. It's cheap and looks pretty good. I'll review it when I get it.
  3. That is hilarious. I can see it in my head "no honey, you can't take that job in Pittsburgh, you have to hold out for a job in Atlanta."
  4. There are some who have poor service, but most of the time, when the network is good, nobody says anything. When the network is bad, people take to the internet to tell everyone how they are overpaying and sprint is underdelivering. You have a point that the network issue responses were not proactive but reactive. I am rather surprised that Sprint has kept their numbers fairly steady, even with all their problems. I figured more people would leave. I guess the numbers will speak for themselves next week when they announce financials for the second quarter. I would speculate that Sprint planned for WiMax to help them avoid the 3G grinding down to a near halt in places. Add the iPhone onto that, and the network was toast in many places. They have done a lot to try to make it right in the near term and Network Vision should get them out of the hole in the long term. I don't understand why the ETF is such a good deterrent for people wanting to leave the carriers. It sure works though.
  5. I've had a headache all day, maybe there is a great disturbance in the force. Many Sprint customers are disrupting the force with their ________________(I'll leave that to the imagination)

  8. Sprint is dumping millions into the "band-aid" fixes that are bringing data speeds back into the usable realm. It takes time for backhaul to be installed, yes they let it get out of hand, but they are working to fix it. This is effectively throwing money down the drain, because none of these improvements will be carried over to the Network Vision upgraded towers. All this to satisfy their customers. Maybe Sprint could have diagnosed network problems better if carrier IQ was still on devices. No, everyone wants their complete "privacy" but many install apps blindly without studying the permissions they grant it. Yeah, privacy...

    Nexus 7

The retailers that I know of that are selling them are Staples, Office Depot, Gamestop, and Sams club. Does J&R have a B&M store? or are they just online?

    Nexus 7

I've been playing with the Nexus 7 for an hour since I got home and it is really really to my liking. It feels great with the rubbery back, it is light but not cheap feeling. It is slick like butter. I am addicted.
  11. Who is power? Sounds like a fun guy.
  12. Blazer was good on the E4GT too. I wonder if Caulkulin will start developing for the GSIII he had some great ROMs.
  13. iTalk, but you would have to exclusively sell iPhones

  15. That is funny. Might be useful for some...
  16. Topic closed for violation of the community guidelines here, specifically: "To provide a forum for discussion and education about wireless spectrum, networks, and Sprint Network Vision, in particular, in an online community that is mature, intelligent, and free from uncritical negativity."
  17. Well today was also the first time I've read an article on "extremetech" and I am also not very encouraged. How is it that the article still stands without a formal edit? Is there no fact checking for that blog? Or is it entirely predicated on the freedoms that the first amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America guarantees?
  18. I want to like this about 20 times. Has everyone forgotten the pains of being an early adopter? Sometimes there are bugs, actually most of the time there are bugs. It sucks, but it is what happens. In cities with WiMax, there was nothing stopping anyone from keeping their WiMax device and a 4G that had its problems, but works. The option was there to upgrade to a newer, better device and access the new LTE network as it rolls out. Taking that option would give tyhe possibility of a great new network or some spots/bugs/holes.
  19. Not to mention ICS is not what is on the minds of the public anymore. Jelly Bean is king now. The upgrade is already outdated. The plus is that the OEMs should be able to upgrade to Jelly Bean fairly easily in comparison to the GB to ICS upgrade. If they choose to do so.
  20. My comments on the article. Then in response to a comment that Verizon AT&T and T-Mobile were installing 10Gbps at base stations and were upgrading to 100Gbps while Sprint was only deploying 250Mbps at the base stations.
  21. Could be that they screwed something up by blocking access.
