  1. Unfortunately, it won't help.

I've had multiple open tickets in the last 3 months trying to get better data service in my home neighborhood.

They send me an email saying their techs said the tower by my house is working as intended, and I'm getting 0.2 down.

They expect us to accept that as the standard.

I'm trying to be patient and see what happens over the next month or so.

Two of the people on my shared service want iPhone5S when released next month, and I hope we get some useful updates prior to that.

im sorry i forgot the /sarcasm

and i was talking about the backhaul providers not sprint

  2. Today, I learned they will be knocking down the buidling across the street form where I work. This building has a sprint site on the roof

Somehow I feel sprint is oblivious to the fact that this is even going on.. Will they move to another building and be proactive about it or are they going to wait until their antennas are in a pile of rubble???

I am not looking forward to no longer having service at work!

when ever they do a demolition they do contact all the vendors and utilities prior to it coming down, now whether or not they feel it necessary to replace the panels have no idea lol

  3. Yes.. I have......?  I liked the mapping feature until something broke and it was claiming I was connected to sites in places I've never heard of on the other side of the planet.

    -Mike

contact the developer he thinks im the only person that it happens too lol he had it fixed for several updates, then suddenly an update or two ago it started happening again.. it still maps well but not knowing which site im on with the exception of some chinese city name is a pain in the arse

  4. Oh god, We used to use those in Elementary school lol. Or I think it was pre-K. I remember using those lol and having dial up computers and using dial up and not being able to use the phone.. A lot has changed since I was that age.. lol

you were probably using the three inch floppies lol those were the "new"ones being such a youngin you probably remember those

  5. Hmmm...I appreciate you thinking of me.  I'm not sure I like this thread, though.  It would leave me accountable to answer every question.  I like to hide behind the fact that I cannot make it to every thread/post, so I can avoid answering questions that are:

    • Already answered somewhere else, often multiple times
    • Stupid or inane
    • Too time consuming, or I'm too busy
    • Easily answered by someone else that will come along
I'm willing to give it a shot.  However, if someone else comes along and answers the question for me, I wouldn't mind at all.  I definitely don't have the time to answer directly the maschinations of over 15,000 members.  If it becomes too big a problem, I will just shut down the thread.  Fair enough?

    Robert

Well I thought about the Robert and AJ show.. But I don't know if we all could handlr that many obscure references you tube videos and songs all centered in one location... May rip a hole in the fabric of space time.. That much greatness centered from one location...

  6. As I'm watching Robert answer question after question in obscure posts sometimes there's a quote that would lead him there with a notification. Other times it's an assumption he will just come down from on high and know through omnipotence that he has been summoned.. Granted some of them are congruent with the topic which makes sense... However I do see some random off topic questions.. That seem to happen oh I'm talking to our fearless leader maybe he can answer a followup question.. And topics go askew

Perhaps we can kill three birds with one stone..1. Robert isn't going through every single post looking for direct questions in athread he may or may not aactually be participating in. Saving him time. 2. People can have their 15 seconds of fame and ask their random questions... (is that your real hair? What razor do you prefer when shaving hair off pigs feet in preparation of boiled pigs feet you know important stuff) and 3. Topics won't go askew.. Like a tower question doesn't get pulled apart about hairy pork podiatry questions...

And I know this is four and I promised 3... But killing 4 birds with one stone seemed far fetched.. Lol all us Robert acolytes will have a single point of reference for dear leader's wisdom and chicken recipes..

  7. hmmm..the key chain solar charger I have(which is approximately the size of a large key fob) if left out in the light for only about a half hour usually gives my s4 about a 6% increase in battery. It isn't much, and I wasn't thinking much out of my idea, but enough to keep you going throughout the day. Maybe an overall increase of 20% at the end of the day.

true but at the end of the day cell companies want you to be using your phone not having it face down charging... also the added weight and thickness to the phone are both counter to what they consider big selling points...

though i wonder if they could pull it off through the glass.. my casio watch is solar powered... (granted way lower voltages) its through the glass... i remember reading someplace about transparent solar panels  now this was 2011 they were at 60% transparent, which would seriously screw with an hd screen if they can get that dowwn more.. id say that would be even more likely... then adding it to the back panel would be probably a big sell to them...that way you could be charging while using and while not...  all the time the back panel would be just additional charge.. that would make it a definate selling point

  8. So, I've had this idea for a while and I was wondering if this is possible and/or in the works if anyone knows. I'm not really afraid to post my idea here because quite honestly I would never have the resources to build a prototype, so here it goes. Wouldn't it be awesome if they could build a cell phone with the back plate being a solar panel? I know the technology is there because we use it in other areas, such as on top of roofs to cut down on electricity usage. I have a key chain that is a solar panel charger. It comes with a mini cable for connecting it to a variety of different devices, and it just charges while I'm outside or under very bright indoor lights. So I just think with all of us with needing better batteries, especially those of us who use our smartphones heavily throughout the day, why not just have a solar panel built onto the back plate? I don't think it would harm the battery considering we use li-ion batteries. Also, it wouldn't necessarily make us never need to use standard charging methods, especially in the winter months when there isn't nearly as much sunshine. I don't know, just an idea I've had for quite some years. What do you guys think? Frivolous idea? good idea? possible? not possible? not probable?

the amount of time to recharge a phone with solar panel of that size you would never be using the phone... face down all the time...

seems to me that qi charging would be better off at least with that i can see my screen..

  9. so i was asking a vegetarian at work today about the new stem cell burger they developed and thrust upon the world last week mmmmmmmm  so me being the fun guy i am... said so whats stopping someone taking stem cells from the shoulder of two people (the way the made the new test tube burger) and made soylent green people burgers...

number one is it legal lol... and number two would you try it out?

would you act out the scene in soylent green its people!!!!!! or would you say something about good evening clarice?

would you eat it with fava beans and a nice chianti

would real canibals be creeped out by the process???  could we air drop it into remote areas of the congo so they would stop eating each other??  would they say thats not natural and then chase you aroundt he room... ???

yes really this is the shit i think about lol

  10. Have a tab on the app where it shows where you are and the tower is and shows you're connected to it :)

    it has that lol

where it s says BSL: and the address

    click the address...

that will bring a google map... blue dot is your location  red dot tower location (you can then do all the google map things your used to like directions too etc

to be fair i didnt know thats what it did for a while lol i found it by accident

  11. Not like netmonitor does. Maybe the developer of that app should add that :)

I think what you mean is that it doesnt log each site so you can reference each tower in reference to your location??

but it does show each tower on a map :D yes i know semantics lol i can be annoying like that lol

  12. The entire Sprint network has been eHRPD enabled now.  Even on legacy sites.  Is it just one site that you don't have eHRPD, or is it all of them?  It could be that eHRPD is down in your area.  Or it could be your device is not set in LTE mode.  Or it could be a problem with your device.

    Robert

ive had that happen to me occasionally where it wont read ehrpd.. just show evdo.  no real signal degradation just occasionally it will show it.  i never understood why, it happens considerably less often when connected to a nv accepted site. than a site that hasnt hasnt. but occasionally it still shows it.

currently for the month the breakdown is

    82.1% ehrpd

    14.7% evdoa

    2.6% 1xrtt

    and .6% n/a

i wonder... if im connected to a 1xrtt site for sprint, yet roaming on evdo on a different tower... if thats why im seeing the evdo and not ehrpd??

  13. I use both but I make sure I run Netmonitor since I can add notes to the logs like Sprint site ID and what not. Also, the sectors remain plotted on the map so I can go back and identify actual sector/site location after traveling. Once SignalCheck Pro can do something similar then I'll switch solely over to Mike's program. I do like the thorough signal data SCP provides.

I use both too.. however what irritates me about netmonitor and i had this problem before but for some reason.. and ive been in touch with the developer..but for some reason, as i map and log the sites.  the addresses shown are someplace in china, its right on the map.. but the address logged says its in china.. which makes it difficult to go to a list and say ok lets take a look at this one and this one. i have to litterally look at the map and then pick site to to site...

it was like that for a while, then an update fixed it, and the last two updates ive been having that problem.. again...
