eye scanner? that so Star trek II Wrath of Khan... not the new one the 1982 original crew one... im still waiting on tricorder sensors who cares if my phone can tell if the weather is changing big deal so does my knee.. in fact i can look out the window for that.. i want to know if there is any life around... i want to know if my supervisor is coming around the corner while im playing angry birds.. or @#!#@$ candy crush! ... give me some real functions on my phone... im also waiting for the Geiger counter sensor put on my phone... id expect this rather quickly in Asia who wants to go outside when a plume from fukishima comes over... lol

I just have no desire in increased specs except for battery life. We've kind of hit a wall performance wise. I mean, smartphones have better specs than most of our laptops. And my vision is not good enough to see anything finer than 1080p HD.
Until someone innovates something useful, I'm going to be sitting on the sidelines waiting for the next big thing. Wouldn't likely upgrade until I break something.

Looks like this could start the countdown!
Samsung's Galaxy S4 is barely out the door and already there's a swirl of rumours going round about the successor model. Yep, you guessed it, it's called the Galaxy S5.
The word out of the Asian supply network is that Samsung could be prepping the Galaxy S5 for as early as the first quarter of 2014, around January or February,
it will be out May/June like it always is

For anyone in the know, is backhaul non-existent south east of the loop 202 in the towns of Gilbert and Queen Creek? Aside from a tower that just switched on near Higley and Chandler Heights (6 miles due west of me), I see no dark purple in the area on Sensorly.
Edit: punctuation
http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5072-not-complete-maps/
This is a great resource it has two maps one that shows no nv activity at all
and one that shows NON LTE sites
these two maps pretty much tell you where you are waiting on backhaul if there is a dot in both maps then you are waiting on the contractor to put network vision up.. if there is no dot on the NV map but one on the non lte site then you are waiting on backhaul.
best thing you could do is go ahead and donate to the site... and get sponsor status then follow the above link.

but i wouldnt think that you would have to worry about them falling i mean depending on where the panels are located id be more worried about power lines failing that power the towers themselves and doesnt most of them have generator backups just in case? rather than the tower falling because of ice accumulation
- 1
-
ice accumulation on the panels can degrade the signal... i mean water is an insulator so, so is ice... insulators aren't the best for transmissions of signals lol i would think that most panels would have some sort of heater to keep ice and snow buildup from occurring
-
ive always wondered if the down tilt may not make sense to you but they have a reason for that panel to be set at that actual angle maybe they were aiming for further away(or closer) for a specific reason without seeing the geography the other buildings that may be in the way either at your location or if there is a tower closer to to those people further away from this tower but sky scrappers are in the way..
and people call to sprint not seeing the big picture complain its not fair i have a tower 2 miles away but because you put a higher tilt on it i cant get a decent signal but people 5 miles away can its not fair they have a tower 1 mile away from them i dont care if there is a hill in the way and the only way to get them decent speeds is to raise the tilt here its screws with me... what you have another tower that will address this? yea well that doesnt help me right now and i want it to work on this exact tower...
not saying thats the case here in this exact location but i wonder if happens because i could really see it...
-
Another good way to tell if 4G is on, look at the network maps on sprint. And if theirs 2 data speeds on the tower its most likely on. Not 100% right but very close.
I hadnt looked at those maps in a long time... hadnt seen much info well vague info yes but this is uncanny
sweet thanks

ive been gettting off and on on the 202 in that area last week almost consistently on my way into work then this weekend i didnt get a signal again.. so hopefully they get done testing and turn it on for good after thanksgiving
oh i guess it was accepted today... i came into work via the 60 today so on the way home ill see if i get a decent signal
-
1:30 am?! Lol, determined.. Jk.. I went by there on the 202 and never got a connection, thought it was odd.. Maybe drove too fast but that's great speeds for LTE I'm liking that, thanks

That's weird, cause I had it yesterday and all day today.
until its official it was probably in test mode yesterday...
or they were doing some additional work this morning...
-
i cant tell if thats new purple at 17/60 and 7th ave or if someone is down there with a nexus but its awfully dark might be new tower on line
-
it also looks like there are some new purple up at the I 17 and carefree highway... yay!!!

What's the current status of the Phoenix area (Scottsdale, in particular)? I've read through most of the information you guys have provided. It's fantastic! Any update as to when things will start to happen here? What's the latest news? I just switched from Verizon to Sprint a few days ago. Definitely notice a drop-off in data speeds, but I can tolerate it until these upgrades take place. [ First post - enjoy the site. Glad to be a part of it. ]
get down to old town they just got lit up... (had to tell this guy hes been waiting a while lol)

Take a second look, its on Sensorly. Zoom in, it isn't much. Whoever did it probably mapped it for a second.
thats just my standard answer when people find an unmarked spot, i see another one down south and west closer to sky harbor too maybe ill start getting a few bits of LTE at work tonight...
i honestly believe there is a tech that when they fire up a site maps it then moves on whoever it is thank you lol
-
Old Town has 4G LTE now.
Map that shit cause it ain't real till its on sensorly lol
-
This is very sad news. I didn't know collocation existed. I guess I need to look harder for that sprint tower, or is this still the tower listed on the map?
It's not necessarily a "tower" could be antennas attached to a building or some other structures... A light pole.. A flag pole.. If it's one of those cactus ones.. good luck...
Now looking g at Phoenix permits thread I see two sites near chandler and rural the closest being at 5400 w chandler.. which looks like a park.. and One down at chandler and McClintock that's the stellar air park site and that one has been confirmed 4G accepted...
So im assuming you are talking about the one at 5400 w chandler.. it's shown completed 3g probably waiting on back haul... I'd look closely at those light poles on the baseball diamonds.. i don't see anything on 5 he Google maps pics but those are at least 2 years old...

I think you would come up something more clever than superlaxatives and BM, AJ.
This protégé of yours is still an amateur.
superlaxative is pretty funny though lol
-
First, it was the "S4GRU BM Group," then the "S4GRU BBW Group." Now, it is the "S4GRU Superlaxatives." We have a thread title vandal in our midst.
AJ
If it was me it would have been the S&M group lol maybe its good i dont have the power here lol
-
superlative... not superlaxative lol i thought maybe that robert got a new job as a pooper scooper or something

Unfortunately I just extended my 5 line plan with 4 HTC Ones and an SIII a few months ago. So tri-band is at least 20 months away for me.
That and currently the only thing going up in phx is 1900.. tribal will be nice but we are no where near that yet... that's why I went ahead and one upped with the note 3... bummed it's single band.. but currently for phx and az it's gonna fit... now a year or or so down the line... When our network is more complete... i mean we are currently 71% of known permits complete.. With 3g/1x only... and 8% of them active 1900 lte... we are no where near completion... so not having a tri-band phone. . Is not the end of the world right now...
Now the above is not a slam on phx or sprint it's a statement of current fact... With that said...
As back haul is increased on the valley if you gave a signal Now you will have the same or better later.. we need back haul that's phx,s biggest issue.. even with 3g only and completed back haul you speeds increase multitudes.. we are still very early on in the process in phx don't compare with completed cities and don't get frustrated.. it's coming... i know ppl in phx have been saying that for a while.. but at least large parts of phx is purple on sensorly...

oh goodie just like my car... dont judge me i get 40 mpg lol

Washington DC is fun too the city is centered around a star in the basement of the Capitol building.. now granted it was planned that that was going to be George Washington's tomb but hes still buried at mount vernon but the street names bot named that way anyway so there are four quadrants in dc nw ne sw se
all numbered streets run north south all lettered east west and states are the diagonals. the numbers of the houses are how many blocks from the capitol.. so 1600 pennsylvania ave nw(the white house) is 16 blocks north west of the capitol(well the star in the basement) but if you go to 1600 pennsylvania ave sw its barney circle down in front of the john phillip sousa bridge...
there is a bunch of other crazy crap in dc lol which makes driving there nuts so do yourself a favor take the metro and dont try...

also remember that if you plan on utilizing that one up program you will need to go through sprint owned stores... so even if it says sprint it has to be a corporate store...
but thats the only current advantage i see if it wasnt for that id had bought my latest phone at best buy
