  1. I think I have only seen a couple of these setups, since the substantial completion of phase one the upgrades came to a screeching halt here. No band 41 and the remaining unupgraded sites haven't been touched. So I kinda lost hope and stopped paying attention. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  2. It baffles me that they would do this, the CDMA network here doesn't need extra capacity but the LTE network is seriously over burdened. Band 41 would do a lot more good than throwing up another PCS panel. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk
  3. I recently noticed a new panel on each sector of this Sprint site, it was already broadcasting band 25 and 26 prior to the addition. Is this part of the MIMO upgrade or is it done to minimize interference compared to CDMA and LTE being on the same antenna?
  4. Grrrrr, I still have exactly 0 band 41 towers in my market. I recently got back from Tampa and was able to get >100mbps on a CA enabled site there. I'm about to throw a virgin in a volcano so maybe I'll get some of that sweet aggregated love. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks to Samsung borking my S5 and the S6 copying the worst "features" of the iPhone I have officially joined the ranks of the G4 users. So far I'm liking it, but it will take a little getting used to. I do really wish they had kept the screen at 5" 1080p and just let a separate model fill the role of 1440p phablet. Built in wireless charging would have been nice as well, I'm not willing to sacrifice the removable battery and memory card slot to get it though.
  6. Consider yourself blessed if your phone is still on 4.4. I ended up replacing my S5 with an LG G4 because the 5.0 update borked it so badly.
  7. It was worth asking. I agree that the last update hasn't done good things for battery life. I think Samsung is trying to force people to upgrade to an s6 Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  8. Keeping a lithium ion battery at 100% charge causes it to degrade faster. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  9. I wouldn't worry too much about the fluctuation in signal, that is completely normal. There are countless moving things that absorb, reflect, and scatter radio waves in some environments. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  10. There is a whole thread about it in the Samsung forum on here. Samsung phones seem to be the worst offenders with everything from -100dbm down being 1 bar. As far as we can tell all the Sprint branded phones are guilty of being very overly conservative.
  11. I honestly haven't noticed, my phone camps on band 26 almost all of the time at home and reception on that seems identical. Have you noticed any difference on band 41?
  12. I just got a T-Mobile LG G2 and the bars exhibit similar behavior except it has 5 bars. -99dbm or better is a full 5 bars. Sprint desperately needs to make the bars more accurate if for no other reason than to prevent undeserved negative public perception. Lord knows there are enough things that earn them that that are way harder to fix so why not grab some low hanging fruit.
  13. If you are using Asus routers or access points there is a feature on them called roaming assist where the access point will kick a client that is below a certain signal strength to force it to rescan. It's not the most elegant solution, but it can help.
  14. Just like they have nothing to gain by delaying backhaul for competitors cell sites? Just like they have nothing to gain by implementing low bandwidth caps after they start offering uverse TV? Or when they try to buy T-Mobile just to eliminate a competitor? You underestimate how unscrupulous they are my friend. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  15. So, deathstar is buying Nextel Mexico. What do you bet rebanding is going to take even longer now.
  16. Honestly I think I would have rather seen an 805 in the phone. Being as the battery life and heat promises of the 810 were vicious lies and the benefit of 64 bit is not worth the trade off. Not that I blame Qualcomm, they were working with the best they had. Apple making a big stink about 64 bit forced their hands before the 64 bit custom code and 14nm process were ready. Off the shelf big Arm cores tend to not be power and thermally competitive until a new process comes out and they are outdated. You would think Arm would figure it out and design the processor for the process that will be available at the time. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  17. You know what, now that your mention it I believe it is. That's not a good sign at all. Hopefully it can be worked out but updating the radio. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  18. There very well could be issues with the Samsung radio in these phones. Love them or hate them nobody does it quite like Qualcomm.
  19. I've kindly asked a nice gentleman who does phone reviews to pass this information to his contacts within Sprint and Samsung and he has obliged. It's been my experience that feedback from trusted reviewers is much more likely to be acted on than from customers. So here's hoping we see something come of it.
  20. I like your phone Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  21. No, I mean the TX from Terminator 3 as played by Kristanna Loken. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  22. The G3 isn't really all that much bigger in the hand than my GS5, 3mm wider iirc. The small bezel helps quite a bit. I also think those leather backs look sexy. The red one screams terminatrix. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  23. Honestly I was just bored and my mind was wandering. The complete lack of meaningful network vision activity in my entire state has left me with much free time to fill ;-) Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
