  1. Too bad 800 is not available yet. Thats one of the first places im checking once yhe tower around there are finished. Im just looking for 1x800. I dont expect 800 lte to fully cover everything. They need another 3 towers in the forest to make it better. Its still better than att which goes like 20 miles with no coverage at all in the forest.

Its truly a void in there. Around Belleview and the Villages isn't much better. The towers are wayyy to few and far between.

  2. I tried that PRL trick to get band 41. It didn't work for me. It would connect to band 41 for a split second then I get kicked off and the phone goes into roaming.

    Has anyone experience this?

    Have had the same issue.

  3. Anyone living on the edge without a case? Been almost 2 months with my N5 and don't have a scratch on it. During the same timeframe from when I got my S3 last year, I had already gone through 2! (Thank god for best buy protection)

I'm right there with you. Hate putting cases on my phones.

Taken at 10:30pm?  Not exactly peak time in Ocala.

  5. Ok, nothing new to report on any areas I have seen upgrades going on, including the airport where nothing seems to be happening since the apparent changeout of cabinets.

I do however want to comment that after spending time in the Lakeland area, even with all of the sites having at least an LTE upgrade, with the exception of maybe two, that I was surprised at the coverage there (both voice and data).  I found myself a great deal of time, while mostly on the western ends of Lakeland, roaming more than I really thought I would be.  Not complaining, just commenting :)

It doesn't seem the addition of RRU's has increased coverage like it was initially anticipated, as least from my observations around Florida.  That isn't going to be of any concern once Ericsson gets on their game with 1x800 and LTE 800 acceptances though.

  6. Have you guys found an app that does adaptive screen orientation?  I don't want the screen to reorient itself on most of my applications but I would like it to go into landscape mode for pictures and videos.  I know HTC phones do this already, but the screen orientation features of the N5 seem a little more limited.

  7. Whoh, that is not cool. I was just about to order one, I really don't want to order a 16gb from Sprint for the same price..

I guess I will ask around on XDA.

You are looking far back in the posts there buddy.  Go ahead and buy the 32GB one, there is no issue activating it on Sprint now.

  8. I saw yet another Ericsson truck here in St Augustine this morning and one last night. That brings the total to 6 sightings this week. With all the issues with random roaming, hard EVDO handoffs and calls not kicking me down to CDMA all throughout town this week, I am seriously convinced something big is happening right now from Ericsson.

I'd concur with that.  Too bad we can only speculate.  Would be great to have a source inside the Ericsson Florida deployment.

  9. Yeah it happens to me occasionally BUT it doesn't happen any more than it did when I had my EVO LTE.  Not having calls come through isn't a new development for me at least.

I might just notice it more because we are all looking at CSFB for our issues lol.

  10. Anyone still noticing it can take 20 to 30 seconds for an outgoing call to go through?

Yeah on occasion. I don't particularly care to talk on the phone so part of me usually hopes it just won't connect. Needless to say it doesn't bother me much.

  11. I don't think I posed the question correctly. I know you cannot do call and data together. I was trying to compare how for example on idle my phone can see signal for say Verizon 1x and Sprint evdo data and quickly swap connection between the 2. Bad comparison.

What I don't understand and flame as you will if this is a stupid question is why at some point the phone cannot download on band 41 and on a weak signal switch over to band 25 to upload and swap back and forth that way.

I was just poking fun before AJ got to you. I don't think you had a stupid question at all. Simply put, the new tri-band phones only have one path so they can only see one signal or band at a given time. Now it can scan for other bands very quickly, without the user noticing any disruption, but it will not connect to two bands simultaneously.

  12. Will it be possible one day on this phone to connect to more than 1 LTE band at the same time? Like you can connect to 1x800 and evdo.
