  1. Hmmm, the downloads show 10.2
  2. So apparently the International and Verizon G2 model's got official CyanogenMod support. Heres to hoping LS980 gets it too!
  3. So what are we looking at here? Sure, you can analyze FCC data all day, but if there isn't software support for ac, that hardware is useless. I think it's still a legitimate concern until someone confirms it's working on a device in their hand. Are we not seeing it in the literature because the support in-ROM is still half-baked or what
  4. Speaking of cases, why has there never been a case (that I know of) that actually helps dissipate heat away from the phone? Most all cases only seem to insulate phones, making heat more of an issue. I'd love to have something like an Otterbox that also acts as a heatsink, pulling heat away from the phone and dissipates it around the body of the case. It would help increase phone longevity. For example, lithium batteries hate heat; the cooler they stay, the longer they last. /rant
  5. Well the G2 is pretty much King of stock battery life right now. Even compared to the new Droid Maxx From the Engadget Review:
  6. lol sorry to dig that old thing up. It's just crummy of LG to list official specs incorrectly
  7. Well the big bonus to running a Nexus device is that you have almost unlimited official ROM support for things like Cyanogen, which add lots of nice features.
  8. Anyone else notice that the official LG specs for the LS980 don't list 802.11ac? Only a/b/g/n The other carrier variants list ac... I really hope this is just a typo...
  9. Well I guess you can only hope that the Nexus 5 gets officially announced and maybe reviewed before your G2 order ships. Otherwise, if you really want to switch to the N5, you might be able to return the G2. I think once we get an AOSP-style ROM for the G2, it'll be Nexus enough to not feel bad about not having an actual Nexus.
  10. Galaxy S5? You mean Nexus 5? S5 will surley not be out till next year, spring time.
  11. Couple things: Maybe I'm going to sound dumb, but why does it say "GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz", isn't Sprint CDMA, not GSM? Also, the pics on LG's site and other posts here confirm there is no rear-facing mic. So we only have the 1 noise-canceling mic, and 1 normal mic. But the spec still lists the phone as having the Tracking Focus feature, which I figured would require the 3rd mic.
  12. Interesting development on my Best Buy order: I placed my pre-order on the 11th, and a Pending charge showed up on my credit card. After a few days the Pending charge disappeared without any actual charge going through. Today the Pending charge has reappeared! Might mean that they are going to charge me and ship soon, maybe. No change on my Order Status online though, still says "Order In Process"
  13. Did they fully charge you or just put a hold for the amount of the order? The transaction still shows as Pending on my Chase credit card, for example.
  14. But is that within 14 days of payment, which I believe occurs just before it ships? I haven't read it myself. But it would be nice if they did give the gift card before the device ships.
  15. I'm guessing you won't get the gift card code until the product ships.
  16. According to AnandTech, yes, The phone can utilize 2A chargers.
  17. Heres a little animation of Sensorly focused on 61604 from 9/25 to 10/14 http://i.imgur.com/cOuRlzE.gif Making good progress!
  18. The Ballistic SG case looks pretty nice to me. I'm going back and forth between that and the Otterbox Commuter, which seems less bulky.
  19. For those who didn't catch it or are wondering, the Sprint product page for the phone says it's a 32GB model:
  20. Yup! Hell of a deal, you get a $50 gift card as well! I've just pre-ordered online with Best Buy.
  21. Peoria LTE coverage is slowly expanding. I've been taking screenshots on Sensorly to track the progress.
  22. Well, we're not on this months list of new LTE markets, but Sensorly is showing more and more LTE signal in Peoria everyday.
  23. I can't believe people don't understand this yet. Even the Android blogs got confused by this.
  24. I'd suspect that since tri-band is unique to Sprint, there was some added manufacturing/assembly time for those SKU's, thus the delay.
