  1. I personally won't be buying any 5" devices. The EVO LTE and GS3 are plenty big enough. So if they do end up with a 5" device, they also better come out with a device in the 4.3 to 4.8" range.

this is the whole reason i went with iPhone 5. I didn't want anything crazy big. I do miss android though.

  2. just does not make sense to have all these ground mounted areas. Seems every tower all the way to cruces along the highway is.

I wonder what Phoenix and Tucson markets look like as well. If they are concerned about the wind in ABQ market they must be concerned there as well?

Edit: I feel like this should be a no brainer for the ABQ market just do to the size of the market.

  3. Yes, that's correct. But Sprint and the Feds are working with Mexico and Canada to allow them to deploy some 800MHz service in those areas.

Thanks for the map. This will help me get to eye the ones that might get work done first.

Also the sites along I25 and I40 really don't need 800. I drive I40 (E and W) for work and I really don't have a problem roaming (only spot I roam is before continental divide for some reason).

With all this being said, it still concerns me that the ABQ market may not see 800.

  4. I live in the north end of Hagerstown and have had lte for a month or 2 now.I have noticed speeds arent as fast a

Verizons lte service which is also available in Hagerstown. My question is will these speeds improve ?Are we

just in the early stages of Shentels upgrade process? I know that verizon is using 700 mhz spectrum where

Sprint is using 1700 mhz I believe,is shentel using the higher frequences as well? If so is this the reason for the

slower speeds?Worse, is this as good as Sprints lte service will get for our area? Im not complaining because the

current speeds I get are easily 10 to 20 times faster then Sprints 3g service ,am just hoping to see the 20 mbps

down and 14 mbps up that a Verizon mifi device consistently yeilds in my home while my Sprint Galaxy S 3 sees

only about 4 mbps up / 2 mbps down :(

Also this is the first posting I have ever read about someone complaining about LTE service. Apparently no one can be satisfied.

First off, Sprint is using 1900 PCS G Block. Secondly, the speeds you are noticing must mean you are on the outer ring of the tower near you. You have to have really low signal.

  6. Remember that in initial Network Vision planning, Sprint designated one panel per sector on most sites for LightSquared L-band 1600 MHz. Since LightSquared was taken out of the picture by its own arrogance (or incompetence), look for Clearwire BRS/EBS 2600 MHz panels to take many of the spots that LightSquared was going to occupy.

Sweet. I am day dreaming of a celluar network as vast and robust as the sound of what New Sprint will become. Amazing.

  7. Think of a set of three concentric circles all centered on the same cell site. Mobiles in the innermost circle are most likely to use TD-LTE 2600, mobiles in the intermediate circle most likely to use LTE 1900, and mobiles in the outermost circle most likely to use LTE 800.

With that being said, If this all goes through, Sprint would want to put this on ever tower like the current NV project? Or has this always been a part of the plan.

  8. I now have confirmation for the Myrtle beach area that network vision has begun. It is not NV/4G it is just 3g network vision. There were special roll outs of NV for myrtle beach, Long island, and Alabama I am excited because the network here is worse than crap. Hopefully the 3G enhancements will bring the download speed up to atleast 500kbps lol. Cause we dont even peak 200kbps now. And the calls may actually go through! Please if anyone else has any information on when the approx complete date is. thanks in advance!!

I will be honest when I visited SC this summer (MB and Charleston). I didn't think your speed was slow. However, I though your 1x coverage was awful. 800 SMR will help you greatly.

  9. I think it is possible if you have cleared your debt (house/car/cc). One million invested into a 5% Agency MBS provides $50,000 of interest annually. If this is an amount that one is already used to, perhaps one could live off a million for the remainder of their days.

I find all of your theories are forgetting once simple principal.

Once one person experiences monies beyond what they have always obtained (i.e., always obtained a salary of $40,000 over a year and now has $1 million in the bank) will inevitably spend in accordance of the sources he/she have.

  10. If I decide to go with a Wifi+Cellular I think I will go with someone other than Sprint. I was reading somewhere else on here that having separate providers for tablet and phone helps to insure that you have access when one or the other is unavailable. I can see being in many places where Sprint coverage is lacking and I would still be able to get online with my iPad on verizon or ATT.

I understand your point. However, I travel to remote/desolate Indian reservations across the country (mostly western US, Midwest andsome Minnesota/Wisc). I have only found one place where sprint isn't (North/South Dakota). However, they have a roaming agreement with either USCell or Metro (not quite sure). I was able to get decent speeds and able to stay connected.
