  1. That's what they meant by official launch. lol
  2. What's with the McAllen area? 9 months later and only two towers have LTE.
  3. 07/30 I have been watching it tumble. I am not going to jump in before earnings come out. Clearwire earnings are going to be bundled with Sprint earnings.
  4. Anyone looking to jump into S pre-earnings report?
  5. I was long on Sprint bought some stock at around $3 and sold at $7.08. A few months ago I did a mock trade for LEAP for 1000 shares @ 5.64 per share...kicking myself in the arse for this one.. +11,460.00 +203.19%
  6. Take my like sir....Been saying this for years... Sprint follows the big 2 in a lot of things where they could take a different route to differentiate themselves. Rather than these plans they could have just added the ability to add lines 6-10 for $40 a piece shared. Or setup a 700 minute everything data plan for families that don't even come close to using their minutes.
  7. There are fan boys and girls for a good amount of companies. I am not sure why you are surprised that some people "adore" or "worship" Sprint on a site that is called Sprint 4G Rollout Updates? If you want diversity my suggestion is Engadget they have all the different types of fan boys and girls there. Why are you so anti-Sprint if you aren't even a customer?
  8. Speaking of 99%... that's about the percent of time I see you slamming Sprint. You're recommending products like AIO and you don't even have them. I'm starting to think you're an AIO employee pulling a stunt like the Chewly's salesman from the movie Clerks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTbusMZEL0Q
  9. some friends sent me some screenshots of lte in Edinburg 281 (Trenton) and in Zapata Tx.
  10. I read on the 800MHz thread that we are not getting 800MHz because we are too close to the Mexican border.
  11. Took your recommendation. It was great! I wonder what Dish will try to pull out of its arse today...
  12. what do you guys think about the facetime voice only call option? not that it may be disruptive for the carriers but some frugal parents may hold on off on getting lil johnny on their plan when they can do it this way.
  13. Are there any updates to the Mexican border areas and 800mhz? I had read a post on here saying we were not going to see it but it dawned on me... if Nextel worked here why cant Sprint still use that frequency?
  14. Yes it was part of the article...lol "Google had been a Clearwire shareholder but sold its stake in the company early in 2012 for a $433.5 million loss on its 2008 investment of $500 million. "
  15. Don't know about the Amazon part but the Google part.... http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/google-wants-experiment-wireless-networks-using-clearwire-spectrum/2013-01-24
  16. Someone may have mapped it recently. I have an Overdrive and when I go into McAllen I get 2-4 Mbps definitely better than 3G.
  17. I don't drive to McAllen everyday. I live on the west side and I have yet to see the slightest of change. Zero changes on the Mission side but I was glad to see eHRPD in McAllen. If you see LTE light up post it on here or map it on Sensorly dont hold out on us.... Thanks you saved me a trip. :-)
  18. eHRPD sighted in McAllen Old Exp. 83 and Jackson Will return to try to get a speed test
  19. I dont think that is a fair comparison. Using that as an example is like calling "South Texas" a city. I went to Sensorly.com and set it to show the U.S. coverage of Sprint 4G. Almost every area there is setup in a circle we are a strip similar to the one that shows for the Miami/West Palm Beach(we are horizontal not vertical). Even that would not be a good example because that strip connects large cities and even at that has large gaps. I guess we shall continue waiting to see what happens. Hopefully we will be posting about sites coming up before the end of the month rather than guesstimating what will happen in our market.
  20. Is there anything we can reference to prove what you say is correct? An example of a similar market would be appreciated. Don't get me wrong I would love to believe what I am reading but without any announcement to confirm it I might as well be asking a "Magic 8 Ball". Me: Is Sprint launching LTE in all of South Texas soon? *Shakes 8 ball* 8-Ball: Reply hazy, try again
  21. You're going to need a new phone to use up the LTE goodness. Corpus and Laredo have not been announced. McAllen, Mission, Edinburg, Harlingen, and Brownsville are the cities that have been announced for South Texas.
  22. Its not just Sprint reps its everyone of the carriers. I went to a Verizon store a while back and the representative there told me that LTE was available in my city. Not sure if he wanted to make a quick sale but I knew it was not available at that time.
  23. Thanks for clarifying that. The reason i asked was because of what the blog post stated. "Based on a source, these are expected to have usable service by the end of January, barring any unforseen conditions."
