  1. None of the IMEIs outside of Sprint have been whitelisted. They need to manually add your IMEI. The store needs to put in a ticket to have them add it. What a pain, right?
  2. Yeah, the iOS is meh. N6 display is horribly calibrated, according to anandtech, uses last gen samoled panels leading to low brightness, bad colors, etc. Battery life is shown is being pretty subpar. Those are my big grips. I will say, there was some learning curve on lollipop but it's really grown on me.
  3. Definitely prefer many aspects of android to iOS. But from a hardware perspective, the iPhone is hands down better than any android phone I've played with.
  4. I would imagine that paypal fees and tracking of such low amounts are uneconomic. However, with tipping, there are no fees and it would all go into one pool - eliminating the hassle of tracking.
  5. Glad sprint is taking a much more customer friendly approach.
  6. So after reading the bad reviews on the Nexus 6 I got a iPhone 6 Plus. A few things to note: Pros: TouchID is awesome The display is awesome The battery life is awesome The build quality is awesome It's ability to shift between bands and pick up LTE is awesome Cons: Notifications suck. The vibrate motor is loud as hell. I am tempted to return the 6 Plus to the Sprint store and get a nexus 6. Will the Nexus 6 be unlocked from Sprint to work on T-mobile? Anyone know?
  7. It would be really neat if S4GRU.COM got a tip button that could support these efforts. http://blog.coinbase.com/post/102957332182/introducing-the-coinbase-tip-button People could donate 10 cents or 20 cents here or there and have it pool into the gift account. Like a post Robert or AJ made? Tip them! Great way for micropayments to add up and make a difference on this site. 22,000 members - 10 cents each could do a lot of good!
  8. Yeah, I am very interested - what are the terms & conditions?
  9. Abuse it how? Move off the extremely crowded/overloaded B25 Take advantage of B26 which is not crowded/overloaded Enjoying sprint service here Not violating any terms or conditions If sprint kept up and added another 1 or 2 B25 carriers instead of allowing them to be completely overburdened, I doubt people would care to switch. I am surprised you are not actively promoting ways for people to get onto B26 to better balance/utilize sprint's network assets. If the enthusiast took load balancing into their own hands, maybe that would stop frustrated customers who are on B25 and not tech enthusiasts from churning and switching to another carrier or save Sprint the money of having to add another carrier.
  10. To me, it seems like Sprint is bringing Miyakawa-san to help oversee network improvements. This is great news, I am glad to see Claure adding talent on the network side of things.
  11. They are popping up, I just can't add to cart fast enough, ugggggh. #firstworldproblems
  12. I think the FTC/FCC is just upset because AT&T told regulators that they were doing this because of limitations on capacity. Then, AT&T turns around and offers double-the-data promotion and never-EVER throttles bucketed data users. It's the double standard that is the issue, from what I can tell. You are treating one class of customers completely different than an other class based on a reason that turned out to a be a straight lie to FCC/FTC all in hopes of keeping churn down. There is no double that I am sure Verizon cried foul that if they were forced to not limit customer's with unlimited data, the rules should also apply to AT&T. I also think there is a FTC issue when you say FREE* Lunch and then in small print say for $5.95 (it's not really a free lunch). Perhaps the FTC wanted to see AT&T say to legacy customers that the old unlimited plans were turning to 5GB plans with no overages but 2G speeds after 5GB (aka a more honest labeling of what the customer was actually getting). Either way, I hope AT&T blows chunks, burns, and goes down in flames.
  13. It will be nice when their legacy E/G networks die. In other news, latest financials show churn declining 10bps YoY to 1.60% but increasing QoQ from 1.5%. T-Mobile's net add numbers are crazy.
  14. I gotta say, Google Hangouts voip-over-wifi is KILLER. I've never used Sprint's wifi calling but with the hangouts dialer, there is not much reason to. The voice quality is just fantastic. Could you compare the two services if you are bored? I would be very curious to hear your opinion on the voice quality between the two services.
  15. Just some updates for the Boston folks... Boston Logan Airport's Terminal B is smoking fast with new B41 at over 70mbit. Very nice to see solid B41 in terminal B. This is HUGE! Downtown Boston continues to be cooked. At my office, B25 is down to .5mbit and B26 is down to about 3mbit. Can't wait for more B41 for capacity relief, as it seems like the additional 75mbit of capacity is able to keep up with current demand.
  16. Totally forgot about the note 4. Thanks for pointing that out.
  17. The N4 and N5 were not one step behind. Best display on an android phone, NFC, wireless charging, latest snapdragon SOC, etc. I guess what makes the Nexus 6 interesting is it is the first device to use the new snapdragon 805 while the Nexus 5 was not the first device to use the snapdragon 800.
  18. Why do you think Jefferies is quoting a Verizon source? Do you disagree with this statement?
  19. videophiles have settled on the 1080P LG OLED that is out now for $2500 for 55" Plasma is dead. Long live OLED.
  20. I've seen a 15dB improvement in signal going from band 25 to band 26 in the same spot on the same serving cell (in my office). Optimization still has much to be desired. I really think Sprint should park handsets on B26 and have them shift up when data is being used. Otherwise, there is WAY too much band shuffling going on. I recently took a trip to NYC and I will say that Band 25 cannot handle the cell spacing on highways. You need Band 26 to not fall back on 3G. It was also silly watching the phone hand off from 41 to 25 to 26 as signal faded. Idle on 26, shift to higher band if available during active data session.
