  1. You better be careful, I am sure you are some how violating one of apples patents in those designs.
  2. This thread got derailed pretty quickly, LOL.
  3. From what I could tell based on the few videos I have seen of the sprint version of the nexus it could have a slightly larger battery.
  4. They do give 5gb for free but its not that hard to get it upgraded to 50gb at no cost.
  5. I need to add a third line and I am waiting for the gnex to drop to do so but an epic touch for $49.99 isn't that bad at all.
  6. Well if this can be done with these tablets, this may actually be a decent deal. I don't have any kids but if I did, I would be getting them something like this instead of dropping $500 on an ipad or whatever high end android tablet.
  7. So is it a simple fix as in just installing the google play apk or is it more than that?
  8. 1gb for free? Is this some kind of joke? Even though drop box starts you out with 2gb you can get an addtional 3gb for free if you download the android app(by using the auto upload option) as well as getting additional free space by referring others to use dropbox, not to mention I also have a box.net account with 50gb of free space. Google should have started with at least 5 to 10 gb of space to entice others away from dropbox.
  9. Is there any particular reason why these cheap tablets don't have access to the market?
  10. Well damn, this is a pretty sweet deal for sure.
  11. WOW!!! People do this every day, you can't blame apple for having their glass so clean. This lady simply wasn't paying attention, so the only negligence here is her own inability to pay attention. Edit: But who am I kidding? If it happened to me I would be suing apples ass too, worse case scenario is we settle out of court for half that amount so we both win. LOL!!!!!!
  12. I know that, but what I am saying is verizon had several non 4g smartphones that easily took sales away from them selling 4g phones. Not only that but at the beginning of the year sprint had the evo, evo shift and epic available for sale. Verizons first 4g phone (the htc thunderbolt) wasn't released until the middle of march last year then their second 4g phone (the droid charge) wasn't released until the end of april with other phones being released in the middle to the end of the year. What i am saying is that I don't think you can compare sales from both. To add if a typical customer walks into a verizon store last year, sees a thunderbolt, droid charge, whatever other phones and an iphone 4 chances are they will be getting the iphone 4. Same scenario but with sprint, a typical sprint customer walks into a sprint store this time last year, their choices were an evo, evo shift, epic and whatever other phone. Chances are pretty high that they would be going with an evo. If sprint got the iphone 4 the same time as verizon did last year I can assure you that the customer would be going with an iphone 4 thus decreasing the overall sales of 4g phones. So I really do believe that the iphone 4 has this particular statistic skewed quite a bit.
  13. IMHO this is a little misleading. The reason why sprint sold more wimax devices than verizon lte devices is because quite frankly sprint customers didn't have much as to chose from. Verizon has way more handsets to chose from, in addition to that, their number one selling phone was the iphone last year which obviously isn't lte. So I think that this particular stat is meaningless. If sprint had the iphone all of last year I can assure that this statistic would look totally different.
  14. Rooting isn't for everyone, in your situation you may want a couple of apps gone and that may be fine with you but for someone like me and many others, we want the ultimate freedom and control in doing whatever we want to our phones. There are custom roms, custom kernels, free tethering, titanium backup, not to mention the numerous apps that require root access. I know one thing is for certain, I don't care how awesome the specs are on any particular phone/tablet, if it can't be rooted then I am not interested.
  15. I don't know about this, IMHO I think the average evo user will feel more comfortable going to a newer device with a newer but similar UI in sense 4.0 versus using motoblur(or whatever the hell its called now) or touchwiz.
  16. In this particular case I think it does matter. The evo was the biggest thing since slice bread for sprint and even though the iphone may be the hottest thing going now there are many extremely satisfied owners of the og evo that will have a renewal coming up. I think it would be very important to Sprint and especially HTC to name this phone "Evo Whatever" to retain those customers. The iphone isn't the answer to everyones which smartphone to get question, there are many out there that wants to continue to have that android experience. I am more than confident that whatever they decide to call it, it will have the evo name somewhere in it.
  17. Welcome to the site, its a wonderful place to be and filled with all sorts of great information. As far as tower location it really depends. Some towers, like in your particular case may not be accessible but others are right there in the open. For example, the closest tower to me is in the back parking lot of a hooters restaurant. The tower itself is fenced off of course but I can walk all around it and take as many pics as I like. There is another one a few miles away that right behind a kmart store that anyone can walk up to, so it just depends.
  18. @Spence There are two things that will most likely increase hits on your website, either really valuable information or real ridiculous information. I wonder how many additional hits his site got just for making that ridiculous statement about Robert?
  19. The evo name is way more recognizable and more valuable than the one series. If anything, instead of HTC going with the "One Series" of devices they should have went with the "Evo Series" of devices. Yes, I am sure some people would be upset since the name is exclusively used by sprint(in the U.S.) but from a business standpoint thats what HTC should have gone with. Anyway the og evo is what really started this evolution(pun intended) of 4g large screen devices and with so many evo contracts coming to a close in the next several months Sprint would be wise to keep that brand or name recognition. I don't know what sprint will call this next HTC device but from a business standpoint it better have the evo name somewhere in there. As far as another manufacturer using the evo name, thats just sacrilege, LOL.
  20. I am 110% with you on this Ben, it should be optional and I think its a win win for both the customer and the carrier. I would definitely pay a little more up front to reduce my monthly fees in the long term.
