  1. No I haven't been expecting anything from the case. Threw it on just to cover the back really. Spigen cases aren't available until the 15th so have been limiting use. How can you exchange? Very much interested in that just to fix the camera. Everyone saying it works amazing.... Yeah not seeing that.

Who did you purchase it from?

  2. I have mixed feelings about this phone. That or I got a lemon. I already have a crack under the glass. It's been in the provided case as soon as I opened box. And it's been kept in a microfiber bag. Camera shutters on start up every time. After each photo snap it shutters as well. Focusing is crazy fast. No vvm. Call quality seems to be better and clearer as apposed to the HTC 10. Happy to have WiFi calling again. The ear phones are pretty good as well. That or I'm just really used to the quality I get from my LG pro 750s.

The case that comes with it looks cool but it's pure garbage, so I hope you're really not relying on that for any sort of protection. As far as camera issues, I haven't had any so if that's what you are experiencing just get it exchanged.

  3. I don't have the voicemail app on my phone anyone else not have the app

It's a no go on vvm for the u11. As of now there are no known workarounds.

  4. Initial thoughts?

For a flagship device that you can get for under $600 I think it brings exceptional value. Camera is amazing, its insanely responsive, the screen is great to look at, its waterproof, speakers sound great, comfortable to hold(even though its very slippery), rf performance is excellent for me thus far as well.  Its a pretty good all around device.

My only real concern right now is battery life.  Seems like most reviews are giving it a thumbs up for battery life, even going as far as saying that even with a smaller 3000mah battery, it still lasts longer the s8+.  This could not be any further from the truth.  From day one my s8+ has continued to amaze me as how efficient it runs but so far the u11, while not bad, definitely isn't living up to what I expected when it comes to battery life.  I've had it for about 20 hours so far so I'll keep monitoring it for the next few days to see how things go.

    Also, no visual voicemail.

  5. Just took delivery, damn this phone is slippery as hell.  You better not be clumsy if you're not going to rock a case.

  6. Did anyone see the this pass through the fcc for rf performance? I'm curious how it stacks up with older htc's.

I haven't even been paying attention but with the a9 and the m10 performing really well, I won't expect anything less from the u11.

  7. Yeah I went with Sapphire Blue as well. I'm just hoping it's not super ostentatious because I actually prefer the subtle blue tint in the Amazing silver version.

Are you guys planning on rocking it naked, using the included clear case or getting an aftermarket case for it?

Same blue as the u ultra, and I'll be rocking it with a clear case.

  8. Half of it may have been in the sunlight It was in the corner of a plastic pool storage bench and a bluetooth speaker. The angle of the sun would not put the phone in full direct sunlight. It was a cool day and nothing else that sat in the full sun was even close to the heat coming off of it. The Bluetooth speaker sitting right next to it covering the phone some from the sun was cool to the touch.

The only time I have had a phone get that hot was years ago when it was plugged in and I was watching video with full brightness.

Well if it wasn't in direct sunlight in any way then I don't know what else could have happened that would caused that.  My s8+ been running nice and cool regardless of what I thrown at it thus far.

    Edit:

Could have been a random runaway app causing the cpu to run faster and longer than normal causing the heat.  I did have one issue the other day with the oculus app running non stop overnight. I went to sleep with 100% battery and woke up with 43% left, normally it should have still been at least 95%.

  9. Any one else have there phone start shutting apps off due to heat? I had it outside listening to music over a Bluetooth speaker music not charging or plugged in and the screen was off. Then the music shut off I went over and I had a heat warning the phone was super hot. It is not even 80 here so I did not think it would overheat like that. I just thought that was neat and didn't know if anyone experienced overheating not plugged in yet.

You said you had it outside, was the phone in direct sunlight?

  10. Yeah you could be like me and thinking that $22.75/month is a good deal ($546). I would love to be able to get it for $306. Granted, I never keep my phones for 2 years so after a year I'll end up selling it I really end up only paying about half of that.

Well I have multiple lines so keeping this one for 2 years won't be a problem. On my main line I do upgrade every year so the galaxy forever lease option is the most feasible for me on that particular line, the u11 is going on my secondary line which currently has an s6 edge on it.

  11. Exactly. But 24 X 12.75 = $306 (not $250 as I said earlier). I bought my m8 on launch day years ago for $199 w/ 2 yr contract. Seems like I'm paying more.

True but unfortunately upgrade pricing isn't available any more so this is as good as it will get.  So you just have to ask yourself if its cheaper to stay on the older plan and going this option or going to a newer plan and paying the higher monthly amount.

  12. Much to my surprise, the U11 preorder is listed at a lower price when I signed in to my account. Listed at $22.75/mo vs the regular price of $29/mo. I almost pulled the trigger but my sister is gonna see if she can finesse Sprint into a Galaxy S8-like 2 for 1 deal on the U11 so that we can both get it lol :fingers:

Yeah and for having an older plan you get a $10 monthly loyalty credit, that's where the 12.75 price comes into play.

  13. Holy smokes that's an oldie! Well my offer is on the table for you too buddy. $400 cash monies for that HTC U11 lol

If you guys think I'm buggin just tell me to shut up  :D

LMAO, I would do it but for that price I couldn't pass it up.  I went ahead and pre ordered.  Between selling the echo dots and selling my s6 edge i'll damn near be getting the u11 for free.

  14. What plan is that muffinman? Is that the 2 year contract plans, the Framily plans or the plans they just had here before unlimited Freedom?

I'm on the everything data 1500

  15. I feel the same. I want a good deal too. With my upgrade I can get it for $12.75/mo for 24 mo, but that would total $250 plus tax. Sure I get 2 echo dots, but I'm not interested in them. I guess I could sell em though.

That's actually a really good deal. I would get it in a heartbeat for that. Heck i'd even offer to give you $400 to use your upgrade and give it to me lol

Yeah I just notice this deal as well. Apparently, if you are on one of the older plans with an active lease then you can get the u11 for 12.75 per month on installments.  So for me that's $306 total purchase price, thats one hell of a deal.

  16. What burn in does your wife's s7e have. I have one pretty bad spot from someone I text over hangouts all the time with.

It wasn't a specific image, but with an all white screen you could easily tell by how discolored some areas of the screen were compared to other areas.
