  1. Anyone else have issues with sending screen shots, or other large photos in a text? They get too compressed and are blurry when the sender opens them. (or when I view what was sent). I had this problem with another HTC phone I had once and it got corrected with an update.

Is this happening with the stock messaging app?
  2. I'll believe it when it's actually implemented in a mass-produced handset. Rezence has been around since 2013. Snapdragon 810 and 820 supported WiPower. Yet so far the only Rezence-certified handset is a Qualcomm demo phone. I highly doubt there will be a version of HTC 10 with wireless charging.

I never implied there will be a version of the 10 with wireless charging, I am just saying that the technology is readily available and htc could have implemented it. HTC is a company with a lof of "first's" when it comes to the smartphone industry, this could have been something else added to their list.

  3. Wireless charging means no aluminum body, doubt HTC would give that up.

Uhhh, not necessarily. Qualcomm came up with a solution last year that will allow smartphones with a metal exterior to be able to support wireless charging.

  4. And I hate to say it, but now I am getting intrigued by the HTC 10.

Should I add to my stash?

Honestly, its a fantastic device.  HTC made sure to check on all the required boxes this round.  Just wished they had a version with a slightly larger screen and also have wireless charging.

  5. I'm gonna have to try out the Google Keyboard. I keep hearing rave reviews about it on both Android and even the new iOS version. I've been using Swiftkey for the past few years, if you guys have used that before, how would you say it compares to Google Keyboard?

Google keyboard is great but I still prefer SwiftKey. As far as the stock keyboard on the m10, it's horrible in my opinion.

  6. How is the display on the HTC 10? Some sites reviewing it say it is bad, while others say it is quite good.

Also, I'd really like to know why AT&T isn't selling the device. I think they ought to do so, regardless of whatever reason they may have not to. If the reason were important enough, then I'd figure other carriers wouldn't have it for the same/similar reasoning. Very Strange

The display is fantstic, sure its not going to have that pop compared to an samoled screen but its still a really good display.

  7. Sprint and HTC are doing a horrible job on launching this device.  This is supposed to be available in 5 days, yet you cant find any reference to it on the Sprint site.  The only way you could find anything at all on the Sprint site is knowing this link: http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/htc-10-launches-on-sprint-lte-plus-network-on-may-13.htm   or searching 'htc 10' to get said link while on the sprint site.

I hope the wait has been worth it.  Ive been fighting myself daily to stop from ordering an S7 since my M8 is basically dead after an hour off charger now.

    In my opinion:

  8. You were right when there was a lot of light in the shot the focus works great. Once you get into low light forget it

HTC has really been focusing on camera performance this time around so I am sure they will continue to provide updates to improve the auto focus in low light situations.

  9. Don't you think Sprint changing names of their network technology from Spark to LTE Plus already is confusing to customers, yet I haven't seen anyone here complaining about that.

To be fair though, all carriers are guilty of having too many different naming schemes for their network technology. They do this for marketing purposes in order to get people to think that there is something new and improved about what for the most part really isn't, or just minor and/or insignificant changes. My suggestion for Sprint though, is to at least give it something distinguishable between something that actually does make a difference, as there clearly is a difference between 2xca and 3xca. There will be times people will notice a difference in their network experience between them.

Now will it matter to everyone? No, of course not. Many people here have spoken about being plenty satisfied with 2xca. Although, that doesn't mean there won't be people who notice and like the difference 3xca makes for their network experience. Sprint ought to let people know of that in some way, as it will help to increase their business by marketing what 3xca offers. However, using technical terms like 2xca and 3xca will confuse people. It would be easier for Sprint to come up with a generic name like Plus and Premium Plus to distinguish those differences simply by saying while Plus is really great, Premium Plus capable devices give that top of the line experience in certain circumstances. Maybe they could use the highway analogy for it too.

No, sprint shouldn't do anything different at this time, for what? To appeal to consumers like you who represent less the 1% of their overall consumer base? What percentage of sprint's entire network still doesn't have band 41 much less 2xca or 3xca? There is absolutely no point in having all these marketing gimmicks when sprint still has a long way to go to get their network up to par and consistent where it needs to be. If their network is were it needs to be then it wouldn't make a difference what they call it.

  10. It doesn't yet seem clear if the HTC 10 is going to be 2xca or 3xca, despite knowing it will work on Sprint's LTE Plus network. While I know this idea might confuse some customers, Sprint might be able to explain this well in their marketing to make it help sell the network better. That idea I'm referring to is to give both 2xca and 3xca their own identifying names. Perhaps LTE Plus could refer to 2xca, while Sprint could give 3xca the name of LTE Premium, or Premium Plus to give a better distinction while keeping the word Plus in there. It seems Sprint is attaching the maximum possible speeds in their marketing of LTE Plus, so with something such as LTE Premium Plus as the identifier for 3xca, they can list the higher speed specification along with that. Then using the distinctions in their marketing, people can tell by the speeds attached to the name, while more advanced users, such as those here on S4GRU will know LTE Plus means 2xca, while LTE Plus Premium means 3xca. Sprint would not need to actually tell people what is 2xca and what is 3xca, just use naming and speed. The advanced users certainly should know the additional meaning to it though,

Having all these different names for their lte network will do nothing but confuse consumers. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what its called, whats important is that it performs well everywhere or at least in most places.

  11. If 3xca isn't truly needed, why are companies spending money and research to support it? Why is sprint spending money to support the capability?

People said you didn't need a camera on a phone at one point. 3G was plenty fast as well at another point. Technology evolves, and a flagship device launching without 3xca isn't a flagship device, its already antiquated technology.

There will be a natural progression no matter what the technology but specifically speaking going from 2xCA to 3xCA isn't as big of a leap compared to going from 3g to wimax/lte. The real world benefits are marginal at best.

  12. Logically what you say makes sense, but for a tech enthusiast community that spends a lot of money on a new phone supposed to last at least 2 years and for a community that finds it fun to go tower spotting even with the wife in the car, not having 3x CA will really suck once the speed test photos start rolling in. This will cause us to get the itch and to upgrade only a year into our contract. Also, for people not on Sprint with its big B41 bandwidth pipes, this 3x CA will come in handy for those folks as they see their speeds drop.

Tech enthusiasts won't keep one phone for 2 years, they would more than likely run through several devices during that time. I am as excited for 3xCA as anyone else but in reality 2x is more than enough. In many areas around me I am averaging 100mb down all day and night. What would I possibly be doing on my phone that warrants that kind of speed much less anything faster?

  13. I am curious where it will compare to the S7. I was a Evo, then S3, then M8 guy. So really, my next phone is going to come down to RF performance and CA abilities. If they are nearly identical, I will probably go HTC and stop my flip flop pattern.

So far, rf performance seems to be really good on the s7/s7 edge for sprint and the 10 for sprint appears to be very comparable to that.........according to my peeps. So trust me when when I say that htc fans should be pretty happy with the 10 this time around. I won't buy one on release but I will wait a month or two and get one at a lower price.

  14. Screen protector options for the edge version?

Several are good, I would recommend the spigen crystal curve screen protector but beware, if you are using one of those slim low profile cases, they tend to cause the edge part of the protector to peel off which can be very annoying.  But I did have great success with the spigen, thats what I have on my s6edge right now and never had an issue with it.

  15. Seems like you are an audiophile and for the most part htc investing heavily in that won't make much of a different in sales compared to lets say investing in a camera and a software engineering crew that knows what the hell they're doing to create a wonderful camera experience.  So htc really needs to focus on a unique design, camera performance, a smooth sense experience and they still need that one added feature/service that enhances the user experience.  So basically anything that can get the mainstream media talking all positive things about htc.

At the same time though, it may be little too late no matter what since the s7/s7e is already out, which I must say is a fantastic device(I currently have the s7e) with lots of great features, great camera, and great battery life then there is the lg g5 which should be out before the m10 as well which has a lot of unique features.

  16. I really think HTC ought to make an announcement A.S.A.P. regarding their audio plans for their new M10 device. I respect device manufacturers' decisions to reveal information at their own time of choosing. However, HTC is not in great shape and could use some positive press about something related to their smartphone devices. Announcing what they plan to do with audio on the M10 would help to resolve concerns about the audio that is so important to many of its customers.

As I've mentioned before though, I really can't see HTC worsening the audio quality on the M10, hence why revealing the information about the audio shouldn't bring about any negative press. Unless of course HTC is going the direction I've mentioned the possibility of, that being making the M10 geared towards photography rather than audio enthusiasts. Again, I really think that would be a huge mistake, as there is enough competition in camera quality on smartphones. The only manufacturer focusing on audio currently is LG.

Audio plans?  HTC has always been above average when it came to audio so thats the least of htc's problems right now.  HTC needs something that will attract buyers, something so cool that it attracts lots of positive media attention.  Without it the only people that will buy the m10 are the ultra die hard htc fans and even those are jumping ship now such as myself.  Yes I am a self proclaimed htc fan and have bought every single htc flagship over the last 10 years.  No matter what htc releases, no matter what feature it has, it will be the first time I won't by an htc flagship on release day.  If it does turn out to be better than expected then I may just get one for my second line but for right now, I don't have a good feeling when it comes to htc.
