  1. Haha well I went to the Apple Store mostly to try and choose the color .. Gotta be honest they all look good.. The white front is classy.. The space gray with black front looks sleek and cool.. It's actually hard to decide. Anyways I couldn't resist trying to flex a few using some force..the notion it would be bent in a front pocket seems ridiculous when you realize tight jeans will actually help keep the phone flat. Put your hand flat in your pocket and sit down. I just don't see it. Lastly I'm kinda curious what colors everyone got....? Let's here what color was picked most here at s4gru....??
  2. Anyone who inspects their own iphone 6 would agree it's very rigid. I tried lightly flexing a couple on display and I believe unless a really heavy person sits on a 6+ there is no way this thing will bend in a front pocket with tight jeans. The more you observe the video it looks like he crumpled the area around the volume control with his thumbs first.. Weakening it to the point it can be flexed with what is still excessive pressure. Of course even if the video is legit- it could've been bent using more force but with the power and magic of video editing we might not ever find out. Either only 9 out of 10 million bent either those were defective cases, we have some heavier folks sitting on phones or someone in Canada likes blackberry too much.. Who knows.. This phone seems as solid as the iPhone 5, which also was bent.. Let's face it though it's not Tupperware.
  3. Iam glad Apple made sure the iPhone had so many LTE bands and joined the Sprint band 41 crowd.. if they hadn't it would've been an uber failure..
  4. Reminds me of my Compusa days in the tech dept and people would come in with cracked LCD screens on their laptops.. alittle differently, but it happened so often..
  5. This : Apple is one of the few remaining manufacturers to actually provide display specifications. They specify a “typical” Brightness of 500 cd/m2 for both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus – we measured 558 cd/m2 for the iPhone 6 and 566 cd/m2 for iPhone 6 Plus, both about 12 percent greater than the typical, which is impressive because they significantly exceed it – often the reverse is true… Apple also specifies a “typical” Contrast Ratio of 1400:1 for the iPhone 6 and we measured a True Contrast Ratio of 1591:1, and a “typical” Contrast Ratio of 1300:1 for the iPhone 6 Plus and we measured a True Contrast Ratio of 1451:1, both about 13 percent greater than the typical, and also the highest True Contrast Ratios that we have ever measured for mobile LCDs. Note that the very high Dynamic Contrast Ratios claimed by some manufacturers are meaningless and pure nonsense. And for those of you thinking of Emailing that we got hand-picked units, these were purchased retail from Verizon Wireless.
  6. Looks like the iPhone 6 display review from displaymate was very positive overall - putting the iPhone 6 displays among the top of the best screens found in smartphones. "iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have their displays reviewed, found to be ‘the best LCD ever tested’ "A great screen is about more than the number of pixels, though. Apple has traditionally been very good at color reproduction, with most of its panels hitting the full 100% sRGB Color Gamut. Last year’s Retina iPad Mini was a notable exception to this, but the new iPhones are on top once again. The color accuracy is similar to the iPhone 5S and roughly 10% more accurate than the Galaxy S5′s Super AMOLED panel. In fact, the contrast ratio is even better and more consistent on Apple’s LCDs in bright ambient light than it is on Samsung’s AMOLEDs, which is unexpected." extreme tech: http://www.extremetech.com/mobile/190675-iphone-6-and-6-plus-have-their-displays-reviewed-found-to-be-the-best-ever-tested much more in depth- displaymate: http://www.displaymate.com/iPhone6_ShootOut.htm
  7. Considering the few bent cases so far out of a sales firgure well over 10 million by now.. Id say this could turn out like the iPhone 5..which was reported to bend as well - but never happened for the majority.
  8. Anyone on thoughts of the iPhone 6 versus iPhone 6+ on screen size. The more I use my wife's I realize it's great when laying on the couch but I'm not convinced it would be good for carrying around work 12 hours. Any thoughts would be helpful
  9. Forgot to mention this part was a bit funny..I mean imagining you pulling out your iPhone 4.. still, your point was well taken. I work in healthcare and it's pretty even here.. but we don't really make fun of each other. Most of the world uses their phones for texting, facebook and gps and one guy who here who used to hate Apple uses Apple Numbers ( I beleive ) which is like Excel to track vitals, blood pressures and meds on given dates has said it works very well.. I think Apple is slowly minimizing issues power users complain about..
  10. Yeah now that my wife has the 6 I really see im missing out on band 41..
  11. Yes, but also realise most people will buy phone case.. I'm not sure how well the iPhone 6 plus would fit in my front pocket, but I tend to wear cargo pants often.. I honestly feel they make enough solid cases ( defender, otterbox ) that bending would be a non issue
  12. I hope Apple does get it together though with a patch soon for the bugs in iOS 8 though - this time delivering. .. Wifes phone had to be restored.. didnt take long, but yeah
  13. Personally, I beleive you've been fair. I hope you didn't feel you were being poked out. I was generalizing what I see. On the s4gru forums though I personally have seen more bias against Apple then not by non Apple users. Just my opinion. I'm not seeing alot of Android hate talk here at s4gru, but I ( meant ) that I see alot more Adroid users posting fanatical things on the "internet" in general IMHO. 1st, I feel the conditions of the bend test rely on the fact you're stupid enough to not use any case on an aluminum phone that cost alot without a contract. When I had an iPhone 5 I knew it was aluminum - so I bought a case. My iPhone 5c has no case because its plastic. My cousin - like myself has both Apple and Android products - and has the otterbox I beleive for his Note 3.. Why ? He plans of reselling and of course again - it cost too much to buy without a plan. I just personally have never spent so much energy trying to disprove the reason I don't buy any product on . Seems like a waste of energy in itself. I don't want to offend anyone.
  14. Yes, the haters of Apple are much more passionate then the Ford versus Honda, Ali versus Frazier, Jordan versus the NBA talks. They make fun of "fanatics" without realizing that they show even more fanatical behavior with the constant defensive post of but but but and why why. To me they prove the success of something much like anyone who argues Xbox versus Sony. Losers in this capitalisitc society are ignored - not adored versus hated. Everytime anyone hates on any consumer product just a bit too much I think there is really something wrong. I've never once considered going to any forum of a product I don't use and posting pros and cons.. or the constant BS you see.. Best selling Android phone Galaxy S5 - 10 million in 4 weeks versus 10 million iPhone 6's in 3 days. Enuff said
  15. The way he bent the iPhone 6 would be easier to bend then in the pocket overall - Once you crumble one or two small focused areas with your thumbs the rest will fold much easier.. just as any metal will once it crumples. Although it would be "nice" to know something is more indestructible then what most people need - proving that something is "easier to break when stressed beyond what might be usual circumstances" is like proving a floor-trim nail will bend easier then a roofing nail. Both have intended purposes - the question would be, "Does a stress test that involves a scenario Iam very not likely to administor to my phone mean anything ? " They proved the iPhone 5 to bend soon after its release as well.. but my wife never bent hers. Nor I mine.. But just to appease the haters and those whom are genuinely not very careful - maybe Apple should use an alloy which withstands being bent at all.. Of course then someone would say, "its just too rigid ! Shame on Apple!"
  16. I won't try and discount that someone legitimately did or can do this, but yes plenty of people have made videos showing if you squeeze the shit out of an iPhone 4 you can impeded a signal .. Or bend an iphone 5... And now a 6.. My advice is don't sit on an iphone 6 or iPad mini.. My iPhone 5 can be run over by a car but you're comparing a metal alloy to plastic
  17. I agree about the need to be careful but remember some of those same people bent the iPhone 5 just to prove it .. Which also made the news
  18. My Wifes iP6+ is hitting 30, 40, sometimes almost 50 Mb/down ... in places where my 5c is hitting 2 Mb down.. we've been trying speed test in the car driving around.. must be the band 41 i dont pick up on the 5c..
  19. from Sprint's press release: "Sprint Spark devices leverage eCSFB technology (enhanced Circuit Switch Fall Back) which enables single radio functionality in the handset. This allows Sprint to leverage the many benefits of Network Vision, including the ability to utilize multiple CDMA and LTE spectrum bands efficiently. Although, simultaneous voice and LTE is NOT supported on new Sprint Spark devices, it does provide improved coverage, quality of voice and data service, as well as improved battery performance..." Sprint implies they use CSFB to an extent (?) on Spark devices ( which the 5s was not ) ... I know very little, but just posted that even if it doesnt help.
  20. Never had it happen from a backup stored on iTunes on my Windows pc.. but that doesnt mean in this case that a corruption couldnt occur on the hard drive.. files rarely, but do get corrupted. I've done a few backups over wifi to icloud ( which can take many hours to backup ) and recently one backup didn't complete - It did say "backup incomplete" though... obviously this wouldnt work..
  21. I ordered my wife a gold iPhone 6 128gb Plus last Tuesday around 1030am.. I got a call from the Sprint store this morning and picked it up around noon. The manager told me he had seen a total of only three iPhone 6 plus models including mine and he was surprised mine came so fast but "it had to be because mostly have ordered a 16 gig or 64 gig model " .. My wife is happy and it came in only 6 days.. 3 days after launch.. It's fast and the screen is rich looking... Can't get it to hiccup no matter how busy it gets
  22. Just read Apple sold 10 Million on opening weekend.. 1 million more then last year ( despite the fact Apple didn't launch in China this year - like they did last year with the 5s/5c )... so thats impressive.. ..And its a good thing they didn't launch in China day 1..
  23. Some of you just need to update your profiles so they say iPhone 6.. It may be confusing to someone when some see a band 41 post with 5s as the photo ..
  24. The rep also said "because you ordered it Tuesday you'll likely have it within the week.. If you had ordered the 6+ today (launch day) it would've been 3 or 4 weeks" I'm using a 5c.. And this 6+ is for my wife.. But planning on getting a 6 or 6+ for myself later
