Depends. Is there a modem capable of TDD-FDD CA yet? Sprint has turned on TDD-FDD CA, so you'll get 25 or 26 as primary carrier and 41 as secondary carriers (I've gotten 4xCA with this). 25+26 is also possible, but I haven't seen it in the wild yet. Generally it's only in areas where you'd be on B25 normally. If B41 is "usable" as PCC (and oftentimes it isn't actually...), then they aren't putting people on B25 yet. As I've said in multiple previous posts, you need root with the pay version of NSG. That's the only way to get it on a Pixel. It was either pushed in the Feb OTA, or Sprint pushed the config change. For what it's worth, the modem is identical in Jan and Feb OTAs (same sumcheck). These are all "live", in that the phone will seemingly attempt to use them. The only additions here are domestic roaming combos. No international combos are present. Interestingly, it has AT&T bands 14 and 30, but no 66. No B71 for T-Mobile. And it has B13 (Verizon) combos. The 3a uses the Qualcomm X12 modem. The 3 uses the X16 modem. The X12 supports fewer MIMO streams and fewer aggregated carriers (3xCA vs 4xCA I believe). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qualcomm_Snapdragon_LTE_modem Both are officially listed as capable of 2xCA UL if the RF front end is in place, but it doesn't say which bands. So it could be something like B7+7 only and not B41. I know with certainty that the 3 does not do B41 UL CA on Sprint. And right now that is the only UL CA combination possible, and likely will be the case for the foreseeable future. I'd say it's fairly unlikely that the 3a can do UL CA, since it's a cheaper device with a lower end modem. Unfortunately no one is going to be able to confirm unless they have the paid version of NSG, and I only know of one other person on here with it, and he doesn't have a 3a. The engineering screens on Pixels don't work for CA. Your only other hope is to look at the FCC filing and see if it says it there. If you absolutely must have UL CA, go with a Pixel 4 or a current generation Samsung device. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

I no longer have access to a rooted Pixel 3, so I can't check. It also requires the licensed/premium version of NSG to view the signaling message that has the CA combos. Your best bet is to check the FCC filings for the 3. I think the stated CA combos for the 3 and 3a were posted earlier in this thread, so you can just use those if you don't want to dig through the filing. The 3 definitely can't do UL CA, but can do some FDD-TDD (maybe with only 2 B41 carriers?). 3a is the same, with some FDD-TDD combos, but I'm not sure about its UL CA status. I think they do it based on demand and usage. The att sites with that config seem to not be congested. Meanwhile, on higher usage sites (for example ones in Pittsburgh), they have absolutely everything deployed. It's kind of a smart move. B2 and 12 provide good coverage, and if the capacity isn't needed, why spend money on it and provide the backhaul? Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

It's definitely on a tower by tower basis. My parents are using an unlimited iPad SIM in an LTE modem (depriorized after 22 GB), and they usually push 250 GB/month on it. On just the B2 carrier, no CA (I'll see 2+12 CA right after it connects to the network, but then it drops 12 and never comes back). They consistently get 20 Mbps, and up to 30 at off peak hours. Yeah it should be able to go faster, but honestly does it really matter? On macros and SCs, the added speed is more about the capacity to handle more users. But on a MB where you'll likely only have a couple users (or at least only a couple simultaneous users), I don't know why faster would make a difference on a phone. I doubt anyone would notice 80 vs 140 Mbps outside of speed tests. Now that I think about it, I wonder if something internally is limited to 100 Mbps. If it was, that, combined with the ipsec VPN overhead, might explain the ~80-85 Mbps max speed. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk

This is the setup that I use. Slow DSL as backup to AT&T LTE (DSL is also used for DNS and wifi calling). Nighthawk as the router. How do you get the iPad plan as prepaid? Is there any different other than being prepaid and the price? Contract? Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk -
No, the radio is only capable of B41. It can be resolved though if they quit using it he Magic Box config for the Airave 4. Right now, the 4 uses the same earfcn as a Magic Box, and uses the same availability restrictions as a result. And in some markets, Sprint doesn't have enough spectrum for 4 or 5 B41 carriers (macro + SC + MB). But they always seem to have enough for at least 1 B41 carrier. The Airave 3 used the same earfcn as the first B41 carrier on macros, which allowed it to be used pretty much anywhere. If Sprint setup a separate Airave 4 config like they did with the 3, this wouldn't be an issue. They could also edit the current Airave/MB config to just use the macro earfcn when non-LTE backhaul is used, but I'm not sure if the config actually allows that type of setup. Sorry, I edited the post and left in the 1x (meaning single carrier) by mistake. It can't do B26+41 at all. CA combos: 2xCA: 25-25, 25-26, 25-41, 41-41 3xCA: 25-25-25, 25-25-26, 25-41-41, 41x3 And 4x and 5x CA B41. 2xCA upload on B41. Like the Pixel 3, it's also limited to 10 MIMO streams. So you can do 4x4 on 2 B41 carriers, but only 2x2 on the last one. Likewise, with 5xCA B41, it can only do 2x2 per carrier. No 4x4 at all. No idea when Sprint will push the update to enable FDD-TDD. Sprint Speed [emoji769]. Could be next week, could be 6-12+ months. Magic Boxes and Airaves for example have been capable of VoLTE for 11+ months, just waiting for Sprint to whitelist them. Apparently the Pixel 4 is capable of B25 + 2xCA B41 (3xCA total), no B26 + 1x B41, and 2xCA upload B41. So whenever Sprint enables it, it should work. (Edited with correct CA combos)
