  1. The buffed up 3G performance should be well enough for most all people tbh in deployment areas....LTE is just an extra perk, I wouldn't let being in an active deployment market vs not determine to get the EVO or not...its not like ur phone is going to completely suck...I had mine in Atlanta and the thing was a champ!... Lte came and went but the overall connectivity of and performance of the device was 10 fold better than in a non deployed market. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  2. I made that statement on the premise that its not complete there and that's why mainly its not getting signal at certain places, and just the other device can barely pick it up at same place... If it were at fully built out and not a chance another tower will overlay the area, then I'd agree with you completely... This is always funny though... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  3. Dang I just figured the varsity wasn't covered when I didn't get signal for lte there....but the fact the 3G was amazing there still should of been a sign the tower has least been worked on some and could of been lte live and I cpuldnt get it for whatever reason...I checked no maps when I was in ATL... Back in Raleigh now suffering crap speeds lol.... I'd much rather it be a tower issue than a phone bc tower would likely be fixed when buildout gets 100% complete for market where as phone could be never... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  4. Rather u be a patent troll than offer only that the offending company stop selling X device. Lol.... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  5. Just patent "smh" and force people to not be able to use it.... Lol Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  6. Well back to Raleigh and sitting on my WiFi bc network is so slow.... Never could get LTE much at all when on ground level in ATL....got it briefly in the Georgia dome but that's about it...downtown was a no go for me, and I ended up updating to the latest OTA too while there and didn't see a difference really... 7. Yeah yeah yeah.....well have our lil fly swatter out to slap the yellow jackets.... Jkjk Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  8. Well maybe its to do with downtilt of the LTE antennaes are set to cover larger area bc I went outside the hotel on the side out room is on and got no signal for 4G but full bars and 3G rockin....then back 10 floors up on same side of hotel and 4G is clear...no building blocking that direction either... Clueless here now... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  9. Went out to the Varsity to grab a bite and still no LTE....though full signal bars shown and 3G was pleasant there at 130 ms ping, 1200 kbps DL and 100 kbps UL....I'd kill for that in Raleigh lol Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  10. Lost it at front of hotel wtf lol....guess being on 10th floor and back side of hotel was the difference....nevermind the full signal I pull out front but only 3g.... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  11. Na not yet. Just hadn't gotten around to updating yet. Have the stuff saved to do it while I'm down here if need but just haven't yet...just running last OTA stock rooted, no fancy stuff...wanted basic as possible for testing it. So far once I got it connected the first time it hasn't lost it yet...see how long this lasts and how far away I can get nd transfer to other towers okay... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  12. Actually sitting here in the same exact location I have seen the signal flutter from full blast 6 bars to 1-2 bar for a few sec before switching back to a solid 4-6 bar strength...all while displaying the 4G logo so kinda odd there... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  13. Visiting ATL for the next couple days as I'm down here for the NC State football game tomorrow night... So far its been iffy here...checked the phone and even did profile update on way to hotel just now, and didn't see 4G at all...same result in my hotel(the Georgian downtown) got no LTE... Then sitting in my hotel room as I type this I saw my signal go from 3 bars to 5 bars and show 4G!....I didn't move an inch so I dunno wtf happened or if it just takes over 20min for ur phone to be cleared for using LTE the first time or what crazy thing happened... Looking forward to seeing this in action though! First few tests pulled 40ms ping and 10-17Mbps DL and solid 10Mbps UL! Sooooo much better than that junk I get in Raleigh which is 900-1000ms ping and 40-250kbps DL during peak times... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  14. You'll soon find out that what you hear from them no matter what the level is to be taken with a giant grain of salt.... Hence I can show you an email from sprint saying to someone an OTA is in the works and be released soon...see total opposite ends of the spectrum responses there... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  15. WOW congrats on diging this one up. lol saw it on my phone and i honestly could not for the life of me remember when I posted what was quoted in the email. lol
  16. Sounds like a load of junk....dual boot OS being sold retail is highly unlikely....Microsoft would never go for that anyway... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  17. Okay that makes sense there. Thanks. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  18. Places where backhaul is getting put in early and before the tower equipment....is it being connected to the legacy equipment until the new equipment is in place?.... If it is are they splitting the backhaul feed when they install the new equipment so they can test that without shutting the legacy off?... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  19. no worries man. Everyone has their own strategy and thats expected, as if everyone had the same strategy and thought process/ideas then there wouldn't be a market at all. lol Thats truly a sad story about your friend btw...I know a good handful that have/are going through somewhat similar situations in that industry...I got out and transitioned away from solely providing by that nature as it got to the point where it was not worth it in the end to me, esp the day trading aspect of it, which used to make up a gigantic portion of the area...HFT's crushing the exchange rebate's killed that area a lot from what it used to be.... One thing that holds true almost always though....buy the rumor sell the news. lol.....Sprint stock having a lil more news than usual with their recent highs made....the thing taking a little time off will be greatly welcomed by me...
  20. Your exit strategy, no matter if $50 or $50,000 should be identical for the most part. This is something that is engraved into you as you learn to handle more and more money...the only difference mainly being that when you get to a high $ amount and very large position you can not just sell out of all of it at once in some cases as you would move the market and get a poor price in the end and its better to scale out in smaller chunks pennies off each other....(though thats not likely the case for most in here, if i had to guess) It is a tough thing to wrap your brain around but trust me thats the way you should trade out of positions...set your levels and expectations and be firm in your decision. When ppl start looking at the $$$$ involved in the trade/position they start to involve emotional decisions that effect their outcome, which they should avoid...I've done it many many times, and used to think just like you say too, but quickly learned that I was wrong. At first when I was raised in account size and position size got bigger I tended to book money quicker than I would when I had smaller positions....This is wrong thinking, and through a journal it was clear I was missing out huge(% wise) on taking chunks earlier as opposed to when I traded with smaller size...The main thing is whatever your strategy is before when you are winning, it should stay the same when you move up in size. If I buy 10 shares or I buy 1000 shares of something, I will have the same entry and exit points I will be looking to buy/sell X% of the allotment... *Thats a real good job btw with that investment you had! That time period from '06 till now was a hairy one at times, and to stick through it says a lot! *Some decent tips on this I could give would be the following: 1) have zero emotion involved in the decision 2) do NOT look at the $$ just look at the trade itself and stay the course of your initial plan 3) When you enter the trade, write down your strategy and plan for entry and exits detailed out 4) when exited of the trade and its over, go back over it and review what happened exactly good and bad, keep a journal and see if you notice things...ie you could see after the fact the stocks you are picking and losing in, are great ideas that ended up working out in your favor if you would of held longer....(so this would tell you to try relaxing your stop levels some going forward to test...) 5-10) have zero emotion involved in the decision(probably one of the hardest ones to do, day in and out)
  21. See this is where most people slip up when investing....you have to look at returns on your investment in terms of % not overall $ amount gained/lost. When your stock reaches level X you sell out of Y% of your allotment, not Y$ amount. It doesn't matter of you have 200 or 2000 shares you trade out on the same % basis you would for both allotments...You pick a strategy for the stock and stick to it, doesn't matter if its a $200 position or a $200000 position you trade it the same for the most part. You have to be decisive with your rule and goals/strategies for your positions and stick to them every time...toughest thing is trading without emotion by far! You also said "urgency" which is an emotional trait there. Rule #1 when investing you check your emotions at the door and do not let them influence your decision one bit! *I managed/traded a $4.5M account for a hedge fund for 5yrs btw... I know wall street and the financial world pretty well... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  22. Needs to hold over $5....over that price allows funds to invest in the stock... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
  23. Gotta like how he said 25 by yr end and that lines up almost exactly with the NV list here and its dates!...
  24. bad advice here...You trade the same no matter how many shares you have...plan your exits based on things like if it reaches point X you will sell Y% and so on...no matter if you have 2000shares or 20 shares, you trade the position basically the same.
  25. Check the deployment list here... Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
