I still think the Unlimited Freedom plans are too complicated, even though they are easier to understand than the 50% off offers and Framily. Yet, Framily was good in terms of its similarities in pricing to ED1500 from what I understand of them. Sprint really needs something like that to get customers to join and stay with Sprint. For the matter, even Sprint admitted really wel to this when their former Verizon spokesman says its 2016, every network is good. That basically means for Sprint they can't get much from advertising their network, no matter how good it is.
Now, if Sprint got T-Mobile to merge with them, then that would be a large enough difference for an incentive to advertise network, as that is a pretty big deal in terms of difference in contrast between them and AT&T and Verizon. However, I don't think simply having a more powerful band 41 network is going to be good enough to work in advertising to customers and bringing them in on that, even though I admit Sprint's band 41 spectrum connection in areas where it is deployed heavily, is an incredible network experience.
Sprint needs a good rate plan to go with it. Prior to unveiling the ew Unlimited Freedom plans, I like how Sprint was going with a simple, straightforward, no speed limits here and there unlimited plan at $75 monthly for the first line and $45 monthly for the second line, and so on. Despite my preference being for a flat rate on every line, this was still better than other carriers plans. I think Sprint ought to go back to a rate where they see the most success at, which is around SERO/ED 1500 pricing. $45 monthly per line for a 9mbps speed cap/$75 monthly per line for a no-speed cap plan I think is a good Unlimited Data pricing point.
Buddy, in all due respect, if you think $60 + taxes/fees is too complicated, you may have other problems you haven't considered. It's the simplest thing Sprint has done in the 16+ years I've been a customer.
What you're proposing is overly complicated and makes zero sense to consumers. Have you ever worked retail? Have you ever sold wireless?

Has anyone here been inside stuyvesant town? Coverage outside is fine but once you go into any buidlimg and apartment you drop instantly from B41 LTE to 1x800. According to sponcer maps there are towers all around. I always report it on Sprint Zone.
From what Ive noticed its not only sprint that has issues. Att users get 1 bar of 4G (NOT Lte). A friend with tmobile had 2 dots on a non b12 phone but couldn't use any internet. And I'm pretty sure Verizon only had 3G on 850mhz. Seems like a prime spot for more mini micro cells or something else. Everyone was asking for the Wifi password
Sorry for all the post. Ive been busy and finally got some time off.
That's building construction for you.

Has Sprint announced or made any sort of PR about 2nd carrier or 10x10 B25 when rolled out in other markets?
Nope, no reason to do so.
-
Does anyone know what the plan is with the second B25 carrier. Do they plan on deploying to everytower or just areas with congestions? Is it just a slow roll out like CA was and that's why we are only seeing it on a few towers at this time. I've seen it only a few timesin queens maybe 2 sites and mostly in Manhattan on 3-5 sites
I think it's going to be on every tower, and offer congestion relief for those devices which idle on B25.

I got some B26 action in front of my house which is down the street from the M Resort. It wasn't a speed demon, but it would do in a pinch. When i walked in my house, I switched back to B41.
I also had B26 for less than a minute in my office at work in old Henderson. Hopefully things keep progressing along all over the valley.

Was it really 101 degrees when you took the screenshot?

Right now Sprint has to play the role of under promise and over deliver until further notice. We as well as they (Sprint) knows what They have per market but right now it's just best to get the work done and then boast. Not the other way around.

That's what they have been doing for the most part. Small cells go on line, customers get better service.
The tonnage on just the 50ish small cells lit up in NYC is incredible, never realized how much data passes through them.

iOS 10 will bring updates to WiFi calling on Sprint that allows SMS over WiFi and lets you retain the ability to have HD Voice while WiFi calling is activated on your line. It currently works on the iOS 10 Beta and is much better than before, IMO.
-Anthony
I haven't noticed that yet, activated WIFI Calling and lost my HD Voice.
Will wait till iOS 10 Official just to be on the safe side.

NYC doesn't have U-Verse.
Deval, depending where you are you can get DirecTV. Maybe not in Manhattan, but I know for a fact in Brooklyn some apartments you can install the dish right by your balcony or by a window.
Eh, honestly I love Time Warner Cable. No outages, no issues, my port speed is north of what I'm paying for (220/20 on average).
-
Do you have Uverse available there from AT&T?
So long as Uverse is available, it only starts at $20 monthly if you can get someone at AT&T to give U-basic. Plus, with bundling discounts, it doesn't cost much more than Sprint and T-Mobile. Besides the Freelancers Union discount I've mentioned, there is another discount membership called "Founders Card" that gives a discount too.
Nope, this is New York City, home of Verizon and Time Warner Cable, with RCN sprinkled in.

Connected to the 2nd B25 carrier on Friday, a first for me.
Glad to see some relief coming on PCS, and the EVDO/1x refarming started.

Thanks for the clarification. So then I am deducing that 42nd Street between the library and 7th is all small cell. I noticed that every other light pole has a box on them (similar to other pictures), SCP is not reporting a band, and according to my LTE engineering screens I'm on band 41 with 40072 as the EARFCN and GCI 012A4431. I'm also getting 40 down at Bryant Park when a month ago I was only getting 5 down. This is pretty awesome. Park is relatively packed tonight too with something going on on the lawn.
Yep you're right.
Walked right by the same cell on Friday on my way to Port Authority.
-
This is great, with CDMA refarming being done to offload traffic on G block, life is looking better. Will see if I can connect to B25^2 in Queens in spots where B41 doesn't reach.
-
That AT&T requirement for DTV is huge for people like myself who live in NYC and can't get satellite TV, since that drives the purchase consideration.
If I had a house it would look appealing, otherwise it's not a fair comparison.

PCs B block earfcn 8321
EXCELLENT!
What speeds did you average?

This is just a question. According to @Sprintcare on twitter, this site was to begin work early November and be LTE ready on B25/B26 by the end of March. When I asked about it prior to leaving Sprint early this year, their executive team didn't give a reason. It is still broadcasting legacy 3G only. Anyone have access to Sprint's Glance to see what the status is now?
Something to keep in mind is that some of the dates are very tentative, and could slip relatively easily.
-
does this mean they will be removing this piece of bloatware?
I would think so.
-
Picked up a new small cell on the corner of 46th and 5th today on my walk to GCT.
What's interesting is that the cells all use a discreet DL EARFCN, 40078, rather than the more popular 41276 or 41178 (I believe)

Does anyone know how to read this?
In the new pending assignments section, I see sprint and US Cellular have transactions to each other. Are they swapping spectrum?
Also, It looks like July completed transactions show T and S completed their spectrum swap for 6 or 7 areas.
Interesting, looks like AT&T is swapping with Sprint in NY?
-
Can you get engineering screen info as well? Would help seeing the DL EARFCN to verify.
-
Since the NYC market has had several small cells installed, I'll ask here.
Are small cells mostly being installed in areas with poor LTE coverage or in areas that needed more data capacity?
Little bit of column A and a little bit of column B, helps fill the gap between B41 handoffs as well.

No one talks about Sprint's Community Outreach and helping the less fortunate.

Oh wow, was that outdoors or in the station?
Probably picked it up from the antennas for TW.

Unless I'm wrong on this, it's also not possible to switch from a voice call to FaceTime over cellular on iPhones either because of the Voice/Data limitation.
Yep you have to create a new data session for the Facetime call. But once the call is in session you can hand off just fine, especially if it's over 3G since coverage is so ubiquitous.

So off topic. But I went on a Napa trip earlier this year and apple maps told us to go just basically in a straight line.
Google remapped us and had us take side roads since the main road had a 30 minute traffic jam.
Saved us so much time.

Now you're just splitting hairs.
Customers are giving 2 options, both starting at $60. For 90% of users, that $60 price point works. For the 10% who want extra perks, it's $20 additional. Those 90% of users could care less about sub 2mbps gaming or 480p video, and will enjoy counting their savings every month.
How is that not simple?
