  1. They are using the same equipment as Sprint. Seems like it would make more sense to use SoLINC for data roaming, and continue to use Verizon 1X for voice roaming similar to how Verizon does in some LTEiRA markets Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Any new updates for us in Birmingham?? I know out towards Delta (Cheaha MT.) I am starting to see decent SMR LTE on my 6S and native voice. I want B41 coverage though in Birmingham!! Hopefully once SoLINC has their LTE built out some (it's already live for testing in Oak Grove West Jefferson County) we can roam being they are part of the CCA and using SMR as well.
  3. Anyone have any updates for the Birmingham, AL area for "LTE +"? SoLINC has LTE Live on SMR so I assume it's only a matter of time before LTE roaming is live. But we have a good amount of SMR/PCS here on Sprint for LTE and 1X but 5X5 can only go so far. Looking forward to B41!!
  4. Ok thank you, that's great information. Does a single panel provide as much coverage/range as multiple antenna's? Lastly, how much less capacity does a single panel site provide vs. 2?
  5. I know, but I'm just going by my mathematics haha. 5x5 would be 25 so I just like referring to it as 5+5 myself.
  6. Hoover, Alabama area My iPhone 6 stays on B26 most of the time in lower signal where my previous non B26 phone had weak signal!!
  7. Shockingly we recently had B26 5+5Mhz LTE and SMR 800Mhz 1x activated on almost every site throughout the Birmingham market all the way through Talladega!! Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  8. So these are poor quality images (for now), however I have noticed all NV 8001x and B26LTE + PCS1x + B25LTE look like this.. They all have 1 panel per sector, and this is in the Birmingham, Alabama market. I have noticed these even in "high congestion" area. So is there any disadvantage to the one panel per sector vs. the other carriers or other Sprint sites with multiple panels on a sector? Pics are middle setup, and this is an Ericsson market.
  9. It's my understanding SoLINC will deploy an LTE network as well in their coverage area on SMR and roaming agreement's with Sprint. I notice my iPhone 6 doesn't hold LTE as well as Android Spark phone's. Is there a reason? Does the iPhone use eCSFB or the 1x chain receive method for CDMA paging and active LTE radio like Verizon?
  10. Just wanted to let everyone know in case it hasn't been pointed out yet. Birmingham, Alabama has 5x5 LTE on SMR now and also 1x800 Voice as well. This is also a market with another provider called SouthernLINC using SMR and they are running iDEN still today.
  11. how much do I donate to the access to the nv maps - Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note on AT&T 4G
  12. How can you tell if LTE is active but they are blocking your phone from connecting? - Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note on AT&T 4G
  13. Having some severe connectivity issues in Houston and New Braunfels, TX on my EVO 4G LTE. My phone is cycling between ehrpd NO data and then the 3G indicator but all I am connecting to is 1X and then back to no data. Tried to cycle phone and update everything but no good, but other EVO LTE is having this issue on and off... Any ideas? - Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note on AT&T 4G
  14. Look's like Birmingham may have 9 months as well too http://webconnect.sendouts.com/CN_Frame.aspx?ID=Sublime&SiteID=Webconnect&Group=Webconnect&Key=CN&CNTrackID=1002&CnId=&PostId=34454758-f62e-4cdf-b297-a35b7ee814aa&ApplyNewCan=0
  15. Hah, I asked S4GRU this same thing a few days ago Found out iDEN towers will not be replaced by CDMA either :/. Sprint's network is limited when out of the metro out in West Jefferson county, but in B'Ham its been steadily improving. On 280 we went from 50kbps to 1mbit/s after the non network vision upgrades they have done recently. Go to network.sprint.com and look at all the recent improvements!
  16. Hey all, does anyone know when or if LTE is or will be live this month in New Braunfel's, TX? I am more than likely moving down to New Braunfels, TX area end of June, this will be my location planning and will be permanently moving later this year but should I expect 4G LTE anywhere in this area and in the San Antonio area? I have the Evo 4G LTE, a few months ago I was down there and they were installing LTE equipment being installed on the cell sites and remote radio heads.
  17. From what I know, eHRPD can be run network wide without any base station upgrades and is a software based solution that resides in the regional operations switch. In the case of Verizon, they are running eHPRD network wide without equipment being available in some area's and requires no additional cards of base station equipment. Basically all eHRPD is, is a software that is stacked on top of HRPD and emulates the IMS LTE core functions for EVDO data session's to seamlessly handover between the two network's and is evolved HRPD or EVDO, being it run's with new routing protocols to more efficiently handle latency and multimedia session's, latency is typically decreased and its possible speed's are increased, but that would be a more direct result of backhaul as you stated. But if your handset is connected to eHRPD, that is the *4G* core so you are already connected to it so it likely means they are going to deploy it network wide via software at the switch, or that area or neighboring area is ready to have LTE activated or is in progress. It look's like Sprint is dividing the network up by regions which is what Verizon had to resort to because of all the eHRPD core outages, when Verizon's old system would go out, it would affect every 3G/LTE phone even in areas with no LTE nearby because eHRPD directly controls the authentication at this point for LTE and EVDO, now they have divided it up by region's and if one fails the others won't be tied in together and Sprint is very smart for doing this.
