  1. In Raleigh, we have had eHRPD on and off for a few weeks. Currently we're at EVDO Rev. Anyone know what that's all about? Probably meaningless as well.
  2. annnnd its back to EVDO rev A. Apparently normal to see eHRPD flicker on and off right?
  3. It's actually in Cary. Off Tryon and Killdare. I'm pretty sure speeds here improved because of bandaid fixes, though.
  4. I knew the stock was higher today for a reason. What does this do to NV, if anything, you guys think? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10000872396390444799904578050104132737498.html?ru=yahoo&mod=yahoo_hs
  5. ah boooooo still at least something is going on though.
  6. To my amazement, I see eHRPD is the connection in my cube now (was EVDO Rev A before). Told ya something was up! Proof NV work going on? Mapping to sensorly now.
  7. Oh I hear ya on that. before it got better here in Cary, I was getting 20kbps max (typically 2-5kbps) down. Now I get 500-600 mid day and 800-1000 in the morning. It's probably just a "band-aid" fix though.
  8. I've noted in the past few days that I've seen increase in speeds in the Raleigh area. I think it may be an upgraded backhaul occurring in the area. My questions are these... If someone were to get say 5000kbps on a wimax phone that never experienced this speed before, can we conclude that an upgrade is infact occurring? Can this result be a fluke? Is the bandwidth directly tied together on wimax / 3g? If a train leaves station A at 3:30am and Sprint is doing upgrades, what time will the train arrive in Raleigh?
  9. Yes I did. I hope I made a few more customers leave due to bad service. But I probably didn't because their network could handle it and they just wanted me to switch to a tiered plan. So I have no regret. I wanted to $% them over like they've $%ed millions of people. I don't think you know the magnitude of which that I hate ATT. In the end I did nothing significant, but I hope I made some sort of impression on somebody (other than you and everyone here who now probably thinks I'm crazy o.O)
  10. I've got no beef with Sprint. I'll use wifi so I can keep it unlimited. However, if I were FORCED to buy unlimited, I'd feel entitled to it. I've been on the side where people abused the data (even though I didn't) and saw what that got me. Yes I retaliated by using more data. By their logic, because I was capped, I couldn't use as much data.
  11. I'm on the side of "I pay for it, I should be able to use it" side. Especially since I've paid for LTE (well LTE phone and 4g data) since April and have yet to see it! (joking therehaha) Anyway, this was why I left ATT. First it was "you have to buy this data plan with your iphone 3g." So reluctantly, I forked over the money for unlimited data. Next, it was "if you upgrade to the Atrix 4G, you will retain your unlimited data and have 4g speed." So since I was lured in to buy unlimited a while back, I felt entitled to use it unlimited. Never tured on wifi. Then the caps came after I used 2 GB of data. So pissed off, I continually downloaded / uploaded a 1GB file until sprint launched the Galaxy Nexus. Ending the month with 10GB of data used while "capped". Slowing the speeds really helped there, huh. Personally I understand bandwidth is a limited resource, but when I was forced to get unlimited, I think it's fair to say that it's not my problem they can't handle the capacity. I'll probably have wifi on when LTE launches here, but I'll only connect at MY HOME. I'm not going to connect a personal device to work's wifi or remember when I'm at mcdonalds/starbucks/jiffy lube or whatever. A side note... you guys do realize in the contract you signed, Sprint still reserves the right to "pull an ATT", as I like to call throttling. So maybe that'll change your mind about using it as an ISP at least.
  12. Beware.... AM speeds (at least in my neck of the woods in Cary) have been quite skewed. Although lately, the speeds have been quite steady through the day. From what I recall, won't we see the signal be ehrpd before they turn on the LTE? Or will they just flip the switch? Ehrpd confuses me, but I do know its a handoff to LTE.
  13. In all seriousness though, I've noticed a boost in the Cary area of late. So much so that I swapped my temp. wimax conquer back for my galaxy nexus and can't tell the difference anymore. So whether they're working on NV or not, it's getting better.
  14. Was WRAL the one flying a helicopter over the Cary Post Office because some "white substance" was on the floor? I'm pretty sure it was them. It may have been WNCN. Anyway, you know those local news people. Anything for a "breaking" story. Anyway the substance turned out to be nothing. Probably the same with this writer's logic. nevermind... it was WTVD (http://abclocal.go.c...ocal&id=8768057) But my point stays the same. Local news will try anything for a scoop/good story.
  15. You know... work my be going on in the triangle. I'm pretty sure they've applied some band-aid fixes at least. Mid day I can get 3g speeds over 60kB/s down in an area I got 1-5 previously. (Regency Pkwy in Cary) Can't get speeds over the magical 1.544 Mbps though (T1), so they haven't installed fiber at this site.
  16. Don't worry I don't think they are avoiding it. I honestly think it's like you said a backhaul problem. I'm just being impatient. My point was really "everything around it being upgraded... why not us *whine*" I'm a huge cynic, but all-in-all an optimist of the whole network vision.
  17. Yeah... what's the deal on the Raleigh area. I see Wilson, Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Kinston, Pinehurst, Lumberton, Rocky Mount, and Greenville. Various Western NC towns, but no Triad or Triangle towns. It's like they're actively avoiding the middle north of the state
  18. I'd be careful. If that first speed was taken at 6 AM, then it's skewed. Here in Cary, NC I get 1600 down / 300 up before 8am. 600 down / 300 up after 8am and anything from 15-200 down / 50-300 up after 11am. Make sure those were peak traffic speeds. You need to consider load in the speed tests.
  19. I fixed my sprint speed problem by buying a second hand samsung conquer, cheap. NOW I CAN STREAM A SONG FROM GOOGLE MUSIC IN MY CAR! . I do however hate the phone and can't wait to switch back to my Nexus. C'mon NV! Stay on target... stay on target...
  20. Yeah I'd be inclined to agree with you, but the voicemail they left was in specific response to my complaint.
  21. I jumped to Sprint after ATT did this. Only they didn't "escalate" to a supervisor. After an annoying email thread, I replied that I'd rather jump in a pool filed with salt and razor blades before doing business with them again. They proceeded to call me after I had been with sprint for a month (hows that for customer service!) but I hung up. I didn't want to hear their stories. I'd advise everyone to do the same (avoid them).
