  1. Hi,

I have noticed since getting my Nexus 5 that the airave is extremely unreliable. My Nexus 5 seems to constantly be hopping between the airave, roaming, and very weak sprint signal. I called the airave support people and they sent me a new 2.5+ model but the issue remains. Tried changing to 3G only in the phone settings, updating profile, rebooting, etc. All of these things help for a few minutes but then the issue comes back. My old original Evo worked without any issue on the airave for years. Any thoughts? I noticed in a PRL thread a mention about a 800SMR beacon on the airaves possibly causing an issue with a looping disconnect/cycling like I have described. Any thoughts? Sprint has not had any solution for me after many calls to them.

    Thanks!!

    Adam

Have they tried pushing a new PRL 61098? I'm in the same boat and seems like the Airave doesn't like the phone at all!

  2. I am honestly a little disappointed that we haven't gotten a single LTE site in the ABQ metro by December 1st.  I was really hopeful, now I am beginning to wonder if one will even happen before the new year.  It's amazing that nearly every site I see around town is hardware upgraded.  I guess CenturyLink is really dragging their feet bad.  I really hope there were terms in the contract that punish them for going so slow.

There should be, I'm also starting to think, maybe a new agreement with someone else is on the table?

  3. So you have to buy a phone at full price aka $100 more than Sprint retail no contract price? I guess the Nexus 5 would be the only exception to this price wise.

Edit - What I meant was that the Nexus 5 would be the only decent deal. Pay $100 more than MSRP and get a free year of service.

It doesn't say anywhere where you have to buy a phone at full retail price.

  4. I thought of one other possibility. We had a tower in abq get accepted lte, but apparently the backhaul wasn't performing well and that was what led to the requirement of fiber to every tower (there are exceptions). Maybe the backhaul was hooked up, even they tested it they didn't like how it was performing, they turned lte off and now the new backhaul has been brought to the site.

    This would make more sense!

  5. I have the newest airave.  I dont have the N5 yet, but on my gnex text works on gvoice and hangouts.  The newest airave now has 3g data, so it should work.

I had this happen on the Galaxy S4, I called Airave support and they sent a fresh update/allowed the device to use the Airave.

  6. I'd like to think this was told to them because of us...lol

I would think so too, but I'm not shocked, as they did the same thing when I asked them about the 4G Wimax phone dealo and how I could take part. Yet no one knew their ToS even changed till I called about it.
