  1. Finally caught that one L600 Tower on the way to Fayetteville from Horry CO, SC. last week.

It is pretty nice to transition from band 5>71>12 these days; triband assets working in sub 1GHz along a 50 mile stretch. Wew.
TMobile is prepping to Launch L600 by early next year here in New Jersey.

  2. Driving yesterday and I noticed a tower with sprint and Tmo was being upgraded. Stopped and asked.  Crew was one of several crews installing Band 71. It was pretty neat. The equipment is dual 12/17 and 71. Longer than me. Huge. Well they said all of Albuquerque will be completed by Jan 1 when clear date for stations for band 71.
Sometime early next year TMobile should be about ready to switch on band 71 over here.

  3. Yep. Typically if they're deploying 8t8r on Clear conversions it's a triband setup with 16 port antennas for 2x4 800, 4x4 1.9, and 2.5. They swapped to massive mimo entitlements and permits earlier this spring. Which entails new racks to be built for 6 antennas. Lot more money and work which are in short supply for Clead conversions.

Lucky because where i live there is only one 8T8R site in town..

  4. I dont think you understand how many upgrades Sprint has pulled off in the last 6 months. I mean Ocala only had two b41 towers March. Now we have 19. So I can only imagine what they are doing in Jacksonville in that same time period. I dont think there are any towers that dont have 800mhz in north Florida besides any GMO tower which are super rare anyway.

Now I understand better. Over here there's one site that is still a GMO.

  5. 175 ms pings
    1200+ ms jitter
    .01 Mbps upload
    timeout errors
that's not "terrible"? good luck with your VOLTE phone calls.
non-network people also don't realize that when you're upload is taxed out, there goes the download speeds and pings...
Actually 1200 Plus millisecond Jitter and pings that is horrible the latency is off the charts.

  6. Yeah, those speeds are good enough for just about anything, including HD Video.
I guess I'm one of those people who stopped caring about top speeds and just wants reliability and usability.
Oh yeah I'm the same way I want coverage that actually works not thin skeleton network coverage but beefed-up usable reliable quality coverage. Obviously that cost money so it's going to take a lot of time for that to happen obviously.
