  1. I picked up the new Wireless Charger Duo Pad that they announced recently. It comes with a huge charging brick and supposedly offers their fastest wireless charging yet, at slightly faster speeds than normal wired charging but still slower than fast charging over a cable. It's really neat and now I don't need a separate charger for my watch and my phone on my nightstand.
Edit: It's a 25W power adapter, likely the same one that's gonna come with the S10 5G.
    How much is it

  2. Something I've noticed is that the "Telephoto" "Lens" images produced by the S10/S10+ look soft and full of digital artifacts consistent with using 2X Digital Zoom.  I also noticed this with my Note 8 as well.  That makes me think that there isn't really a "Telephoto" lens on the 8, 9 and 10 series.  The whole point of a true telephoto lens would be to produce clear, optically zoomed images without softness or artifacts.  I think they are screwing with us LOL.
Yeah they even to me it does feel slightly artificial all together. But the wide-angle lens is really a champ. And I see very minimal distortion with the wide-angle lens compared to LG.

  3. I finally dumped the screen protector and whaddayaknow, the fingerprint scanner never fails to recognize me and is just fine with how hard I press [emoji4] Feels more fluid without that dumb screen protector.
Heads up for those using WiFi calling. There's an issue, corroborated by a few others, that when the cellular signal is very low or unstable AND you have WiFi calling turned on....it'll give you the "unable to determine your location" notification over and over and over. The dangerous part of this is that your phone will be unable to make or receive any phone calls at all when you swipe away the notification until you come back into a strong network signal area. It looks though, like everything is connected and kosher though, which is the dangerous part, IMO.  I don't know how else to get to any Sprint/Samsung devs besides the Sprint forums, which I've posted there or through the chat support, which I've done as well.
Turning the phone on to airplane mode with WiFi on and WiFi calling on, works just fine. So there is some issue with WiFi/cellular fall back. And yes, I have turned off the "switch to cellular network when the WiFi is slow or unusable".
I actually disagree. Mine came with the screen protector and it works just fine :-) but then again everyone's mileage will vary.

  4. While T-Mobile could have awesome mmWave 5G in Ohio, the  more important 5G story is the 600MHz nationwide.  It is believed they have been saving half of it for 5G, which should basically double speeds at the edge.  Even more if they CA it with 4G.  So rather than a few people in the heart of major city downtowns benefiting, those inside buildings and at the edge of service should benefit the most.
I don't disagree with you. I totally agree with you 600 megahertz plays a very key role with T-Mobile's 5th generation Network. I've seen many documentation of where the millimeter wave petered out very early and with little trivial things like rain and leaves. So yes I do agree with you once again that 600 megahertz is mission critical for the future for T-Mobile.

  5. T-Mobile is delaying their 5G launch until the second half of this year because phones with the X50 modem don't support 600MHz 5G, only mmWave and some sub-6GHz bands.

I'm not concerned about 5th generation coverage. For 1 all I care is that my phone has a consistent usable connection. I don't care about millimeter this millimeter that speed this speed that. The only thing I care about is it consistent reliable connection where I live and work and play the most. Speed is meaningless to me to an extent. All I care about is being able to do the stuff I do on my phone with a reasonable time frame.

  6. Encountered (and this time captured) an error for the first time in a few weeks - see attached, in case it helps in any way..

It's been awhile since I've encountered any errors like that

You can rag on Sprint about a lot of things but lack of 256QAM and no deplpoyment of Massive MIMO isn't one of those things.

I can definitely say though that even though Sprint only has two carrier aggregation deployed on the large cell site in town it flies it goes pretty quick it easily keeps up with Verizon. So Sprint has definitely turned up the back haul.

  8. Yes, hindsight is always 20/20.  None of these were completely bad moves in the time they were made, but just ended up in the wrong side of history in retrospect.  If Sprint's decisions throughout time have always been wrong, then why are you even here in 2019?  Get constructive or get going.  Thanks.

I'm here because I'm interested in seeing what happens. So I'd love to see what happens. If Sprint can keep moving forward on its own and hopefully keep bettering their Network then I'd like for them to prove me wrong. But only time will tell and obviously the decisions they make they well obviously impact the company. But only time will tell and I'd like to see what happens. I'd love to be proven wrong. I'll say that.

  9. Well I can honestly say that there are some areas here in the urban jungle of NYC that I find myself going back to pre-2008 signal levels and I'v come to the realization that it either has to be the lack of cells or NIMBY residents not wanting cells near them. Which is weird, cause if one goes by the maps, almost every inch of NYC should be fine and covered.
As for it being all Sprints' fault for sitting out on the auctions, I'm not sure that is 100% correct. They may have had not choice or lack of money to participate.
    TS out
Well I can also say that the South part of my town disturbingly lacks consistent band 41 coverage. And I am disappointed in Sprint none the less. So the one thing I do have to say is that in my eyes I do see them at fault too because if use their money to acquire Nextel they wouldn't be in this situation. Nor if they upgrade using that silly WiMAX technology that was more prevalent at the time. So Sprint in their own way borked themselves out of having decent low band Spectrum Holdings to build a proficient Network. Unless they can somehow dig themselves a this I will not see them as anything more than urbancore cell phone carrier. Also I'll say this once again as well Sprint waste so much money on silly gimmicks like those stupid robots and those ridiculous advertising campaigns. I mean okay I get it that advertisement is needed to obviously bring brand awareness. But wasting billions upon billions that could be poured into the network to expand it and even maybe a slight chance of acquiring some decent 600 megahertz Or so. So I still see this as Sprint fault.

  10. I remember now... another botched stupid Sprint move:  Partnering with Lightsquired.    (eyes rolling)..

FCC stalls Sprint / Lightsquared LTE due to GPS interference.    More spectrum interference issues, GPS issues....  Sprint should be a pro at this.   All they wanted was spectrum that interfered with everything else.     Does anyone question all the money Sprint wasted on bad moves?   Glad I bought that Wimax phone with it's $10 premium data charge.

Magenta can't come fast enough after having lived through this.

Sprint made so many bad moves it crippled their ability to build out an efficient Network outside of urban areas. Where I live it's very urbanized and yet only two miles off the highway the network goes from great to piss poor. Swiss cheese to the point where there is roaming Holes well within their own native footprint. It's sad. But this is all Sprint's fault for sitting out all of these auctions.

  11. By the way Josh... the FCC did have low frequencies available just a couple years later (2007/2008)...  700mHz,  I believe, the old VHF TV frequencies...  AT&T, Verizon, T Mobile and I think Dish got  them.    Sprint sat out on that one also.   Sprint has sat out on most all of the FCC auctions... I don't think they played in the AWS-1 and AWS-3 auctions either.     Does anyone remember?
No they never played in the AWS auctions.

  12. Only one of the sites could possibly be considered NIMBY in the New Albany area of OH.  Then two in rural locations, two on city property.  In NIMBY areas with weaker coverage, several years ago Sprint turned down an 85ft tall site previously approved for a cell site by Upper Arlington city council.
Yes over here there's many of those nimbys so grid density here for all carriers unfortunately does suffer.

  13. If T-Mobile would keep the Sprint roaming agreements after they merge with Sprint, the combined company would have incredible coverage.  The Sprint roaming agreements are extremely useful (and expensive) in keeping Sprint mobile devices usable in coverage holes.  The T-Mobile network is a little better than Sprint's in some areas but in other areas is far worse and just goes to no service since T-Mobile currently has many areas with no roaming agreements.
Actually if TMobile can continue to expand coverage that would be absolutely fantastic. And not just rely on roaming agreements. As you just said roaming Agreements are pretty expensive. So it would really be and the new carriers interest in building out new coverage. Obviously that's a very expensive and complicated process logistically. So I would really like to see what would happen.
