  1. ptoro, speaking of Mira Mesa exit, don't know if you, or anyone else noticed, but just before the 805/5 split, I'm guessing maybe a few hundred feet or more (let's say I'm heading South coming from North County), you'll see Sprint Tower, and tower full of panels on a hill alongside the freeway that's fenced up. Everytime I pass through, it's always running full LTE strength!
  2. I've seen a blog here with many members showing off their home screens. All were great! While going through the entire blog, I really didn't see many say what clock/weather app they used, which caught my attention, and has me wanting to change mine. I own an S3, sick and tired of the corny, boring accuweather widget. Are there any apps you highly recommend to check out?
  3. I see North County is now dead. Is LTE pretty much done in the area, or is it break time?
  4. I was in Vista this afternoon, and headed down to Poway taking Gopher Canyon onto the heading south. While looking over Sprint Cell tower map last night, my other plan was to spot towers heading down to Poway. I've seen a couple of these Sprint towers on both sides of the freeway, that were located in odd places such as power polls (on a very windy road on Gopher Canyon), street light polls, along side an Arco gas station, on the backside of a neighborhood, hills, etc....... Will passing by these sites, I only had 3G with full bars, until I reached Escondido on the 15 is where I began getting strong LTE network for a good couple of miles, then back to 3G. Does anyone know if those towers on the 15 begining at Gopher Canyon heading south, just before arriving in Escondido are being worked on for LTE to go live?
  5. I donated. More cool features, and more information!
  6. What's the reason of towers being placed in trees???????? I can understand on top of building structures..
  7. I didn't know that. Is there a fee?
  8. UrbanLegend, I was out in that area Friday afternoon coming from North County. I was amazed how much LTE coverage was live passing by downtown San Diego on the 5, heading far south. Chula Vista is heavily covered. My final destination was San Ysidro over by the outlets/TJ border. Coverage was awful there! Slow network, dropped calls, 1-2 bars, texts seemed like it took 5 min or longer to go through so I stop trying to send, etc....... Funny there was a Sprint store across the parking lot from the Nike outlet. On may way back heading north, entering Chula Vista, I seen the 2 Sprint towers that aren't far apart from one another on the 5. They were 2 big, huge white tall towers with many panels. A few on each were tilted, others weren't. That was the first time I've seen an example of "tilt" that has been mentioned on this site, when I asked questions about it. I didn't get a speed test due to driving, but the network was extremely fast browsing just to see internet speeds.
  9. On way home, I picked up LTE when I got off the 5fwy/Oceanside BLVD exit. Didn't notice until I was sitting at the traffic light, then quickly mapped it on Sensorly just before it turned back to 3G about 30 seconds or so later. I also noticed someone mapped Oceanside Village Square. I usually take that route home, and always pick up ePHRD, 1xRTT (every once in a while), or Unknown network signals. Most of the time it was ePHRD and Unknown. Looks like good things are begining to happen in that area.
  10. I did a little bit more mapping this morning in Encinitas, on way to work. Garden View has been running strong. Turned onto El Camino Real/Garden View heading south, and LTE was running great. I made a U-turn onto Via Montoro/El Camino Real due to me working on that side next to the Encintas Carwash. Still had LTE on that side, in which I never got, only 3G. There were times where LTE turned to 3G just before Via Montoro. Got to the parking lot, LTE was still on, then it goes out. Had 3G for the rest of the day. I don't get it. Why is LTE up and running on one side, and not the other? During my lunch, I ran an errand. Decided to try again to see if LTE was active on the East and West sides of Encinitas Blvd taking El Camino Real. It was on, and I had Sensorly going. Here's the strange part. I couple hundred feet just before I reached the Encinitas Blvd/El Camino Real intersection, everything stopped! Network on phone was lost, and Sensorly froze up. The only thing I could do was switch in and out of my home screen.
  11. As for Encinitas, Garden View is back on, and running strong. I decided to stop by Walmart in Encinitas after work yesterday, which is located at the cross streets Town Center Pl/Leucadia (north side). While in the parking lot, coverage was terrible! 3G/LTE was going flashing on and off, unlike the other side. Made 2 calls, and both were dropped after serveral attempts, and when calls came through, I heard a lot of clicking. While on the phone with this person, he said he could barely hear me, and sounds like I was fading out as if my phone was about to go out. Not only that, network was going and coming every few minutes to the point when I tried getting on the internet, signal was lost, came back on, lost again, etc.......... While going into the store, 3G/LTE was swtiching back and forth. I tried getting on the internet with LTE, a page would begin loading, then it will freeze. I'll refresh, and same thing. It was also very slow! Weird! But like I said, on the other side of the Leucadia, it wasn't anything like that. One more thing. I logged onto Sprint Forums (Networking), and Oceanside has been mentioned a few times. I live in Oceanside myself, but not in the LTE active areas. I got LTE signals in the areas, and also mapped a lot on Sensorly, in which I have a screenshot I took when I discovered O'side Blvd/El Camino Real stretch. I hope you tower experts that can see what's going on, can verify what this Sprint Social Care rep said on April 15th. What about the rest of O'side? http://community.spr...art=45&tstart=0
  12. As for "tilts" are there any pics here I can find, and see examples of this?
  13. Garden View tower in Encinitas is off. Been getting 1xRTT in parts of Encinitas Blvd.
  14. I have one question. I've read somewhere on here about a "tilt" on towers. Does tilting upward/downward determine the distance of how far 3G/LTE signals can reach areas?
  15. I happen to be running errands in Vista today, and noticed a tower over in Civic Center area was back on. I took the back roads of S. Sante Fe Ave to avoid traffic on the 78. Notice LTE popped up, mapped up Santa Fe Av, took a right onto Civic Center Dr where I also noticed full LTE strength on phone, and when I got to the end of Civic Center Dr, I made a right on East Vista Way. I was surprised it lasted that long. Bookertdub mentioned Mission Ave and Fallbrook. I wonder if Bonsall will be lit soon. I seen a spot over in Pala. I continued on until the end of E. Vista Way/76, and my network was showing 1xRTT in that area, and a large portion heading west to Oside.
  16. I tried again this afternoon mapping Encinitas Blvd East/West and no luck. I did map Via Cantebria and Via Montoro. As soon as I got LTE on Via Cantebria/Encinitas Blvd traffic light turning west, it turned over to 3G. I did notice Most of Encinitas Blvd showed 1xRTT network. As for Via Montoro, I work on the other side of Via Montoro/El Camino Real, and wondering why isn't that side picking up LTE unlike the other?
  17. I will try again tomorrow morning, and see what happens. I work a couple of blocks down from that intersection. If nothing then, I'll go during my luch break. BTW, I mapped some more of Garden View to Leucadia if you look at Sensorly.
  18. 3dog, I tried mapping more at Encinitas Blvd. I began heading west, and picked up LTE for a split second then it went back to 3G. It was so quick, it was impossible to map. I tried again, and nothing. Including east. While being there, my network mode was showing 1xRTT both east and west of Encinitas Blvd.
  19. I mapped again to Encinitas Blvd. Couldn't do a speed test due to busy lunch time traffic. What I did notice where I work, my network showed "EVDO revison A" before LTE popped up. What does that mean?
  20. Yesterday I picked up LTE on El Camino Real/Mesa Dr and mapped on Sensorly to the 76 frwy overpass in Oceanside. On way home after , mapped back heading North, same route, and mapped LTE to intersection of El Camino Real/Mission Ave. I've noticed towers are back on for Carlsbad. This morning on my way to work, began mapping at the intersection of El Camino Real/La Costa Ave, and had LTE running until I got to El Camino Real/Garden View intersection by the Encinitas post office, which is 2 blocks down from where I work. This is getting exciting!
  21. Ok, I don't know what's going on with the Sensorly map. I recently looked at the Encinitas area again on the El Camino Real side, and nothing is there from what I seen earlier of LTE. Is there something wrong with the site? I see only the lighter shade purple I mapped on way home from work on Leucadia/Garden View Rd. There were a few spots mapped up and down El Camino Real, and the Islands Burger restaurant was mapped LTE.
  22. Ahhhhh. I just looked at Sensorly map, and seen many parts of Encinitas was mapped, and LTE went live today. As I mentioned, I've been having horrible service in the area where I work. Around mid morn I noticed 3G speeds increased, full voice bars, etc. No wonder why. I work next door to the Encinitas Car Wash, and had 3G all day. I'll see if it switches over to LTE tomorrow.
  23. djmatty, I picked it up passing by Carlsbad Village heading North on the 5 for about a min or so, the switched to 3G. As for Encinitas when I left work around 6:30 pm over by the Encinitas Car Wash, I always take Garden View/Leucadia to get on the freeway. When I was waiting at a traffic light, I looked down, and noticed LTE. Hurried to turn on Sensorly to map it, got a little bit, and just before I got to the Encinitas golf course, it turned back to 3G.
  24. In the same area now. Here's what I got speed wise. Download- 0.09 Upload- 0.28 Ping- 492ms
