Same thing on my GS9. Can select T-Mobile and it sits for a few minutes saying registering on T-Mobile but it doesn't give me a connection.

One of the things about the video is when John said apart no one would be capable of doing 5G. Only a combined Sprint and T-Mobile could do that. Many of us know that even without T-Mobile, Sprint could still do true 5G.
I have a crazy idea... How about everyone on here chips in and we buy Sprint! Then we can run it how it should be run. ?

Well said Robert. I do agree there is a lot of potential.

I am wondering which carrier everyone will choose if the merger is successful?

So I disabled CDMA and bands 25,26 and 41 on my phone and it's not roaming on T-Mobile yet. I would imagine it will take at least a week to propagate the update to towers and the system etc?
You may be right. I tried the same thing on my S9 and it didn't work either.

How many towers does Sprint have? 85,000 to be decommissioned sounds like a majority. Got to admit it doesn't seem much of a plan for densification, unless they're planning to readd towers in better locations.
That's one of the big things between Sprint and T-Mobile. Most of their sites are co-located near each other.

Tell me if anyone else gets this after doing a prl upgrade??? Never happened til now.
Gets what?

I'm one that doesn't want this to happen. It may look good on paper and in short-term they say they will lower prices but that won't last. I can see them raising prices after the Sprint network is decommissioned and everyone is brought over to their network. If this passes through the DOJ, it's a good time as ever to give Project Fi a try.

I wonder if Verizon or AT&T will lobby against this from happening.

To add to the document that was posted above this post, Sprint has made a statement on the 2.5 news today.

One thing that really stands out to me is:
Quote“While we saw this as a positive, Madden questions S’s ability to make the best use of this spectrum and seemed to imply this asset may be better used in others’ hands (cable was mentioned),”

Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
I have heard 2 different things; the S7 isn't getting the Oreo update while the other is saying anytime from May-June this year.

In my opinion Seattle is somewhat notable because its T-mobile's home turf, and they are doing this without B26 which means you probably drop to 3G deep indoors, and that can drag average speeds down quite a bit. So site location and density is of the upmost importance. Not to mention, its a sample of a market that mostly relies on midband/high band spectrum which will be the bread and butter of networks of the future.
5I have been seeing some B26 around here, though it is still sparse and not being played into this. Sprint has definitely become a stronger contender here in Seattle. I have friends who are on Verizon and they have some dead spots and I have signal. B26 will help a little but what will really help up here is 4x4 mimo.
